Kittens for Adoption
                                                                                                       We have been adopted by four kittens who are now old enough for adoption.
We have been in contact with AAR so they will all be spayed/neutered and vaccinated etc. by their vet, and we are contributing.
If you can help in any way with re-homing it would be appreciated. We are leaving Canillas de Aceituno campo soon to go to the UK,
so need to find homes for them.
Three boys, and the mainly white one is a girl, they are lively and appear very intelligent, the mother looks very Siamese.

Last Sunday we found these two dogs walking near by our house at Sayalonga Campo. Please help – lost kitten     We were taking 2 kittens to the 365 Vets just outside Velez Malaga yesterday be neutered, when one escaped from the carrier just outside the Vets.  She was off like a streak into the long grass that borders the entrance road.  She is a very feisty ginger kitten with white markings approximately 5 months old and has never been away from her mother and siblings.  Many thanks to the kind gentleman who helped look for her to no avail but who thought she may be in the culvert.   If anyone can help find her, or has found her, please call 951067723

What’s on- Arthritis Exercise Classes Back by popular demand!                                         Our 3rd round of classes are about to start. Led by UK qualified, fully Spanish registered physiotherapist (Col no 2066). The first 2 groups have now moved on to our coninuation and maintenance class, having achieved remarkable results. Suitable for people who are suffering chronic pain from degenerative arthritis such as osteoarthritis of the knee, the hip, spine (including spondylosis and spinal stenosis), neck, shoulders, elbows. Research has shown that a regular exercise regime can: strengthen your joints and body in general reduce pain improve your physical function improve your psychological well-being We will be exercising twice a week for 6 weeks. Each session lasts for 1 hour and includes a 45 minute exercise session and a 15 minutes information/education session. Maximum 8 people per class. Please note that the classes are mixed sex. Each exercise session starts with a gentle warm-up. Then exercises are initially performed for 1 minute at a time. There will be a 1-2 minute rest between exercises. A photograph is more than a mere visual representation of something seen by the photographer. What is chosen to be in the frame, what remains outside the viewer’s sight, the quality of the light, juxtaposition, symbolism and metaphor, all colour the information conveyed in an image.
We start with an introduction to photography as a process of visual storytelling, discussing techniques and examples. You’ll then have a set of tasks – photographic exercises – to do wandering around Cómpeta, to practice a different way of seeing. We’ll break for lunch which also allows you time to edit and select your favourite images, and deliver them to Nikki – either over wifi or bring your own card reader with a USB connection.
The workshop will close with a group discussion and evaluation over drinks at Hotel Balcón, but it doesn’t end there!
Participants’ favourite photographs will be showcased on the ArtWalk website/facebook page to invite a public vote. The image with the most likes wins its creator a bottle of Cómpeta wine, ¡Salud!
This workshop is suitable for anyone with an interest in photography. You don’t need to own an SLR, a camera phone is fine! Language: The workshop will be led in English, with instructions available in Spanish, German, French, and Dutch. Number of participants: minimum 5, maximum 10

What’s on- First Aid for Dogs and Dog Owners Course €40                              Why dog first Aid? Well unlike our other pets, we tend to take our dogs with us where ever we go and sometimes we take them to quite remote places like fields etc where we may be quite a distance from where we left the car. If anything happens to our dog then its going to be us that will have to do something and then manage getting them back to the car to take them to the vets.
Unfortunately we cant call 112 for our injured or ill dog and expect a pet ambulance to arrive with a couple of vets inside to treat our sick family member. Our course is designed to bridge the gap between your dog collapsing and getting to the vet.
The course isn’t designed to remove the need to go to the vets but instead to recognise when things are serious and need the vet, and equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to make that difference which might ultimately save your beloved dogs life. Just like in human lifeaccidents can happen anywhere – when you are out walking your dog, on the roadside or even at home. Coming on our course will give you the skills and knowledge to provide immediate action before calling the vet. More importantly we will give you the confidence to be able to use those skills.
This course is ideal for dog owners and those that work with dogs such as dog walkers, dog sitters, dog groomers.
On our 4 hour short course we will cover:-
Knowing your dog Weekly health checks Managing an incident
Checking vital signs CPR Drowning Choking Bleeding injuries Shock Restraints and carries  Dog first aid kits and what should be in them
Our course is compliant with the UK Veterinary Act 1966 & Vet Recover Guidelines 2012

Help Please – Toby Needs a Home
                                                                                                               We have had Toby from when he was about 8 weeks old.                                                   We rescued him from the riverbed where he was born.
He is a very gentle natured happy dog and loves to be round people. We have a daughter who is 12 who he is great with and he adores to be cuddled. He is still quite timid though due to his age. He will be 2 in October.
He is 52cm from his shoulder to the floor and 65cm from his neck to the top of his tail. He has stopped growing so we think this is as big as he will get.
He has a passport. He is actually due his yearly vaccinations so I will send a copy when they have been done.
He is good on the leash when walking but still a little scatty and jumps when he sees his reflection in a window.
The reason we desperately need to rehome him is because of other dog who’s 5 has suddenly started to turn on him and recently he has become quite viscious towards Toby. As Toby is bigger we are worried that if he retaliated then one of them will get hurt.

Help Please – Eroski-Vodofone Advice Needed
Now that Eroski are discontinuing their mobile telephone service and handing it over to Vodafone, are there others having difficulty or success in completing the changeover procedure. Unfortunately my Spanish is very poor and no one at Eroski or Vodafone wants to speak any English although, apparently, I now have an ICCID number. Then Vodafone – I think – called me and gave me a 5 digit number but as it was all in Spanish, I have no idea what to do with this number. Can anyone help? Thank You Eddie Bryce
