The Phoenix Club is off on a trip to Cuenca, Logrono and Avila: Dates? 17th – 21st October 5 days, 4 nights
Price? €350pp based on 2 sharing. Deposit of €75pp is payable on booking and is non refundable. This includes, coach fare, B&B accommodation, Guides in Cuenca and Salamanca and the drivers gratuity.
The itinerary is as follows:
17th Cuenca – one night in the 3* Hotel Alfonso, 2 hour guided visit
18th Logrono – one night in the 4* Hotel Gran Via
19th/20th Avila – 2 nights in the Hotel Palacio de Valderrabanos. From Avila we will have a day trip to Salamanca which will include a 2 hour guided visit.

Warning: Danger on the highway A -7 between Torrox and Algarrobo. I have been driving for more than 50 years. The most serious “incident” happened last friday on the highway between Torrox and Algarrobo at 2.45 pm. I was passing a car – my speed was 120 km /hour – and when I was still on the left lane almost at the end of the maneuver a white Audi passed at extremely high speed between my car and the car beside me. His speed was certainly more than 200 km/h. I regularly look in the rearview mirror and did not see him. That driver made a zigzag movement in 1/100 second. Wanted: Information wanted on NHS pensions/Hacienda. Is there anyone in digameland who gets an NHS pension paid not by the local authority but the Paymaster General? As I understand the double taxation agreement, this is not counted as a government pension, and therefore is taxed in Spain not the UK (unlike civil service pensions, teachers pensions and the like). However the HMRC is telling me this is not true, anyone have any information to share on this? In confidence, of course.
