Well Worth a Road Trip to Almeria: Garrucha hosts the second Festival of the Red Prawn. Running Friday to Sunday from midday to midnight, the gastro festival will feature conferences, roundtable discussions and cooking demonstrations with some of the best chefs in Andalucia, as well as food tastings and live music.
As you would expect there will be a variety of tasty tapas featuring red prawns and other locally caught fish and seafood as the main ingredients on offer. Look for regional delicacies like prawn pate with pistachio cream, prawn ceviche, or prawn, pineapple and mango kebabs with a mustard and honey sauce. The show is a parody based on a cruise “Trump of the seas”, the boat captain is loosely based on Donald Trump, and there is also a scene set in the nightclub on board and a talent show. -Thursday November 21st – Coach Excursion to Gibraltar. Cable Car to the top of the Rock, see the Unique Barbary Apes. Visit the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, where you will find the Historic Tunnels dating from 1779-1783 and St. Michael´s Cave. Both of these have guided tours available. In the town can be seen the Gibraltar Museum, Government House and in the Southern area are key historical sites. It is also an opportunity to purchase Duty Free Items and typical English items of food, etc. Ticket price 13 Euros, or with Friends of Lux Mundi Card 12 Euros available at the Centre. -Thursday November 28th – Excursion to Mijas Pueblo and Viveros Guzman. Visit Mijas. Wander through the narrow cobbled streets the gardens along the cliff, with a beautiful panoramic view down and along the coast. There will be time for refreshments and lunch. At 15.30 you will join the coach for a short journey to visit the very large garden centre of Guzman, in Alhaurin del Torre. There you may purchase plants, shrubs, etc. for your garden, interior decorations and gifts, and see the beautiful Christmas display. There is also a restaurant. Then rejoin the return coach at 17.30. Ticket price available at the Centre 16€ with Friends of Lux Mundi card 15€. To my person: My name is Kiki Trenew. I am practising Yoga since more than 17 years and I am teaching since 7 years. Yoga definitely changed my life. When I was 18 years old I suffered from back-pain getting worth with the years. Doctors in Germany wanted me to change my profession and thought about an operation on my spine. I didn’t want that and started trying out different therapies. After a couples of years I came to Yoga which definitely helped with my daily pain and after meeting the right teacher I found the right yoga for my back. With an Osteopath and my own yoga I came out of my pain completely and today I am feeling more fit with nearly 50 than with 18.
