26th Rockin’Race Jamboree: This Rockabilly event will be held at the Prince of Asturias Auditorium in Torremolinos from February 6 to 9 and promises to be a major musical event with more than 30 bands DJs and classic cars. Headlining acts are Robert Gordon (Rockabilly legend) & Darrel Higham (from UK band Kat Men) and The Doug Kershaw Band.
It’s a real rockabilly event that attracts audiences from all over Europe and the town of Torremolinos is the place to be seen if you like Beehive hairstyles, drapes, 50s fashion and American music.
There is a great five day offer at €80 per person to include a free cd although you can buy entry for single days but at €40 per person and be warned, Sunday tickets are already exhausted.
A number of the events take place in different parts of the town and there will be a limited number of market stalls offering a selection of goods in keeping with the event.

3rd Annual Festival Yoga Castillo at Fuengirola’s Sohail Castle: May 11-12. Featuring meditation, workshops, conferences, mindfulness, dance, fire shows, juggling and music. 68 professionals will teach 57 classes during 24 hours of programming in six incredible spaces in and around Sohail Castle.

-Today Windows 7 officially became obsolete amid waves of forum reports from users that it has mysteriously developed minor but annoying problems. Common problems reported are: the necessity to click on an item multiple times before the click worked, browsers crashing when first opened in a newly started computer, display fonts changing on websites and email, more streaming TV buffering and longer wait time for newly opened website pages to load. Just a coincidence, or Microsoft nudging Win 7 users to upgrade?
-Microsoft is patching a major Windows 10 flaw discovered by the NSA that could expose users to surveillance or serious data breaches, according to the Washington Post. For a change, the NSA disclosed the vulnerability rather than exploiting it. In the past, the NSA might have kept the security hole to itself, using it to spy on adversaries. The best examples of that are WannaCry and EternalBlue, Windows 10 vulnerabilities discovered and exploited by the NSA for years.
A software patch was released earlier to critical Windows 10 clients including the US military and managers of key internet infrastructure. Microsoft has since released updates for all customers, urging them to install them “as quickly as practical.”

Nerja’s Calahonda beach and Carabineros walkway to get major facelift: Malaga’s provincial government, Diputación, announced last week that it has approved a budget of 281,368 euros to make improvements to Nerja’s Calahonda beach. The project will connect the beach with the Carabineros walkway near the town’s famous Balcón de Europa. Steps will be built to allow access from the walkway down onto the beach, with wooden handrails, benches, lighting and a garden area according to the Diputacíon. Motril joins the “Marrow for Lucas” search: Motril joins a solidarity campaign to help Lucas, a three-year-old boy from Almeria, suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who needs a bone donation from a compatible donor. On January 31, Motril residents will be able to go to the La Matraquilla civic center to donate blood and marrow between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The town joins a campaign initiated by the parents of the child on social networks. Through the “Médula para Lucas” Facebook page, his parents are trying to find bone marrow donors.
