Plaza Mayor outlet to open at last, next Thursday after wider access is finished: The developers of Design Outlet Málaga have requested the opening licence after being given the green light by the Transport ministry. Supermoon This Weekend: The phenomenon of “supermoons” takes place when the satellite is in the Perigee, the closest point to Earth
This weekend you can see in Spain the “Snow Moon”, the first “supermoon” of the year. Its name derives from the fact that it coincides with a period of enormous snowfall in the northern hemisphere, is characterized by being slightly whiter and brighter than usual.
This “Snow Moon” will mark the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations and the Lantern Festival, and although there is no snow forecast in Spain, in the United States there is. There it is known by another name, “Moon of Hunger”, since it makes the exercise of hunting difficult.
The “supermoon” will be visible from Friday night to Sunday night, although according to the National Astronomical Observatory, the best time to see it in Spain will be at 08:33 on Sunday morning.

Sunday Eucharist Services
Almuñécar
9.30 am – Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Carmen (The Fishermen’s Chapel). This small chapel is situated towards the western end of the beach and set back near the Chinasol Hotel and seafront. There is a Eucharist every Sunday from November through to March, and there is a Eucharist service on every alternative Sunday (1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in April, May, September and October). There are no services during the hot summer months of June, July and August.
Nerja
12.00 noon – Iglesia de San Miguel, Plaza Andalucía. There is a Eucharist service at this time throughout the year. The church is within easy walking distance of the first large roundabout as you drive into town from the Malaga direction, by the bus station.
