Please be careful about believing crisis info posts on Fakebook, Social Media and even mainline news sources: There are tons of hoaxes circulating. Coronavirus deaths reported by Spain’s Health Ministry beginning to rise: The number of Covid-19 victims in the last week stands at 131, a figure 11 times higher than that reported just a month ago and twice the number reported on Tuesday. The deaths being caused by the virus are, however, even greater in number, but the delays in the notification of the data that the regions send to the ministry and that are subsequently made public mean that changes in trend are trickling through slowly. Britain removes Portugal from quarantine list, adds Austria and Croatia: Britain removed Portugal from its COVID-19 quarantine list on Thursday, but said rising infections elsewhere meant travellers arriving from Croatia, Austria and Trinidad and Tobago would have to quarantine themselves for two weeks.
Britain’s whole travel policy is constantly under review and could change quickly, they warn that people should only travel if they were content to quarantine themselves should the rules change during their holiday.

The Spanish government has a hotline to answer all queries from Brits living in Spain about the implications of Brexit, in English. Callers can ring 060 when in Spain or +34 902 887060 if calling from abroad and an automated system will offer the choice of either Spanish or English.

Art Exhibition in Nerja:
In the coming 2 weeks ( 20 august -5 september) I will be exhibiting my latest paintings and objects in the Sala Municipal in Nerja in the post office street. I paint mainly the female figure in oils, acrylics and collage. But there are also paintings of flowers and landscapes to be seen.
During lockdown I made objects by recycling materials that were available in and around the house. These will also be on show.
I am a dutch artist and have lived in Torrox for the past 10 years. Why not drop by sometime and see an interesting mix of styles and techniques. You are very welcome!
Open every day. In the morning from 11.30 to 2pm and in the evening from 7.30 to 10pm. Virus rules apply. Coby Bloemsma.

World Health Organization attributes 100+ national travel restrictions on Spain to doubts about management of outbreaks: The comments from epidemiologist Bruce Aylward came on the same day that the country was confirmed to have the highest infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants in Europe.
The comments came after more than a hundred states imposed some kind of controls on the circulation of travelers either into or out of Spain, according to figures from the Spanish Foreign Ministry. In some cases, however, the measures have been in place for several months. Spanish Government has not approved even 1% of income assistance requests: The chaos in the administration not only affects the collection times of the ERTE. Now it also applies to applications to receive the minimum vital income, the Government’s star measure and with which they calculated to benefit some 850,000 households, about 2.3 million people, to reduce extreme poverty in Spain by 80%. This minimum income can be requested since last June 15, and according to the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration himself, in just over a month and a half they had already received more than 700,000 applications. However, as La Información has advanced, the ministry itself has recognized from the transparency portal that until August 7, only 3,966 applications had been approved. That is, not 1% of the requests. Full story: https://spainsnews.com/the-government-has-not-approved-even-1-of-the-requests/

BAD COP = NO DONUT – Ex-FBI Lawyer Pleads Guilty To Faking Key Evidence in Trump/Russia Collusion Investigation, More Indictments On The Way: Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty on Wednesday in federal court to falsifying a document as part of the bureau’s early-stage probe into whether President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with the Russian government.
Clinesmith is the first person criminally charged in an investigation by John Durham, a federal prosecutor tapped to probe mistakes and intentionally false claims the FBI made when it sought a warrant to conduct surveillance on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Clinesmith admitted to doctoring a CIA email the FBI used in 2017 when it applied to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to renew its application for a secret wiretap to monitor Page.
Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz uncovered the doctored email and in December released a scathing report documenting 17 “basic and fundamental” errors and omissions in FBI surveillance warrant applications. Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga is now fully open!
We have started to receive clients but by appointment only. It is wonderful to finally be able to have visitors! We are of course following the legal guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
The summer is a great time to plant Vetiver as this plant is indigenous to India. Vetiver loves the heat of summer to grow. Vetiver is often used as a wind barrier in the fall and winter months. Vetiver is the best plant to stabilise erosion prone locations before the first fall rains come. We have plenty of plants in stock for either pickup or delivery via the Spanish Correos.
It is always a great way to spend a day in the garden.
We also have Moringa seeds, Lemon Grass, Moringa seedlings and now our new product, Organic Moringa Powder. If you do not know the medicinal powers of Moringa you can check it out here. https://www.vetiverspain.org/moringa-oleifera-.html
This month we have some specials for both pickup and shipments.

Recommendations & Requests

Information: Help!. On June 17th of 2019 against my better judgement I engaged the services of an abogado to exchange my wife and I’s driving licenses from UK to Spanish, 14 months later we are still waiting. When we started the process it was intimated by the person whom we were dealing with that they had a contact at Trifico. We have since found out this person is actually a driving instructor not employed by Trafico, he submits the applications on behalf of the abogado. Now for the interesting bit we live in a small mountain village east of Malaga and a car is essential not a luxury as we have no efficient bus service, my driving license runs out at the beginning of November 2020 and at 73 I really don’t want to have to take a Spanish driving test, trying to contact Trafico is excuse the pun “a non starter” and all we get from the abogado is we can only hope and keep our fingers crossed. We have no paperwork whatsoever other than the receipt for our payment to the abogado. PLEASE can someone help me. Chris, Sedella.

BREAKING NEWS- Live Music Venues and Drinks-Only Bars on Spain’s Costa del Sol Forced to Close- Unless they Serve Food!
Live music venues, nightclubs and bars that only serve alcohol have been forced to close, sparking frustration, anger and downright resentment for the government among thousands of already struggling businesses on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Discoteques, and there hundreds on the Costa del Sol, have also been told they must close. Some owners read the news on the internet and some saw it on Spanish TV. However they found out, it was the worst news they wanted to hear.
This will affect bars that have just karaoke too, they will have to close. A lot of people have said on social media that they were out in Benalmadena and Fuengirola and that everywhere was open as normal- don’t expect this to carry on for long as police patrols are looking out for flouters and as normal the fines will start to be handed out.
Full story: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/08/18/live-music-venues-and-drinks-only-bars-on-spains-costa-del-sol-forced-to-close-unless-they-serve-food/

Costa del Sol pins hopes on €55 coronavirus test that could end 14-day quarantine and kick-start tourism: Travel expert Paul Charles of the PC Agency is urging the government to adopt Iceland’s airport testing scheme, subsidising the cost so passengers pay only €55.
Visitors to Iceland can book a swab test on arrival instead of going into quarantine and wasting the 14 days required for isolation. They would only need to self-isolate for five days before taking a second test, which is free this time, at a medical centre. If both tests are negative, they can then carry on as normal. In total, the quarantine could be less than seven days. Full story: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/08/18/spains-costa-del-sol-pins-hopes-on-e55-coronavirus-test-that-could-end-14-day-quarantine-and-kick-start-tourism/

Turkey could be added to UK quarantine list as country sees COVID-19 Spike: Currently, the UK has an air bridge with Turkey which does not require returning holidaymakers to quarantine for 14 days upon their return. But the problem no is that cases in the country have begun to increase in recent weeks. This has led to concerns that Turkey may follow France in being added to the quarantine list by the UK government. Whats New In Big Tech: Apple wants to connect your shirts and rugs to the internet, plus blockchain-based supply chains, robot shelves, Amazon puzzles and other patents from Big Tech.
This week saw a pretty wide range of ideas from the big companies in the U.S., but many of them seem to be focused on using digital assistants to make life a bit easier. Microsoft wants to help you remember where you put your keys; Google wants to remind you of how much you’re spending on lunch; and Apple wants you to know if you’ve cracked your windshield. All things that could take a little load off of your mind while putting some money in their corporate coffers. Full story: https://www.protocol.com/apple-connected-rug-shirts-internet-patent

In Stores, Secret Surveillance Tracks Your Every Move: As you shop, “beacons” are watching you, using hidden technology in your phone.
Imagine you are shopping in your favorite grocery store. As you approach the dairy aisle, you are sent a push notification in your phone: “10 percent off your favorite yogurt! Click here to redeem your coupon.” How did your phone know?
Your smartphone was tracking you. The grocery store got your location data and paid a shadowy group of marketers to use that information to target you with ads. Recent reports have noted how companies use data gathered from cell towers, ambient Wi-Fi, and GPS. But the location data industry has a much more precise, and unobtrusive, tool: Bluetooth beacons.
These beacons are small, inobtrusive electronic devices that are hidden throughout the grocery store; an app on your phone that communicates with them informed the company not only that you had entered the building, but that you had lingered for two minutes in front of the low-fat yogurt.
Most location services use cell towers and GPS, but these technologies have limitations. Cell towers have wide coverage, but low location accuracy: An advertiser can think you are in Walgreens, but you’re actually in McDonald’s next door. GPS, by contrast, can be accurate to a radius of around five meters (16 feet), but it does not work well indoors.
Bluetooth beacons, however, can track your location accurately from a range of inches to about 50 meters. They use little energy, and they work well indoors. That has made them popular among companies that want precise tracking inside a store.
Beacons are placed at airports, malls, subways, buses, taxis, sporting arenas, gyms, hotels, hospitals, music festivals, cinemas and museums, and even on billboards.
In order to track you or trigger an action like a coupon or message to your phone, companies need you to install an app on your phone that will recognize the beacon in the store. Retailers (like Target and Walmart) that use Bluetooth beacons typically build tracking into their own apps.

Moonette Aromatic Skincare for 40+
*We are a Torrox based company specializing in the creation of formulas which help prevent premature skin ageing*
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our lives. As we grow older however, our skin will become thinner, more sensitive, less firm and require the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognizing this need we have created a range of formulas which help reduce the appearance of the signs of ageing by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and also by eliminating blemishes and imperfection.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration and cell revitalization, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering:
* A discount on future purchases to clients recycling containers
Free testers of eye cream, face cream, and body cream are available on request. You can also try out testers in 2 beauty salons in Torre del Mar and Puente Don Manuel (Alcaucin).

Spain – Fear as Figures Rise Again: The total number of cases over the weekend is rather worrying and many regional governments, such as the Basque Country, have already declared a state of medical emergency. This weekend the total number of new cases has reached a whopping 16,269, almost double the number of new cases recorded last weekend (8,618). More cases among young people and a lower death rate- How the coronavirus epidemic has changed in Spain: If an expert was presented with data from the coronavirus epidemic in Spain in two blocks – from the start until June 21, when the lockdown ended, and from that date up until now – they would struggle to determine that they represented the same pathogen. The age of those being infected, the areas worst affected and the death rates are completely different between the two data sets. The change in behavior of Covid-19 has been achieved thanks to isolating those infected, and monitoring suspected cases – although the recent rise in new cases could reverse this trend. Here is an analysis of the radical changes in the most frequently used indicators. Two Spanish regions ban outdoor smoking and dancing in virus battle, with more to follow: New restrictions to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, including the closure of discos and a partial ban on smoking outdoors, went into effect Sunday in two Spanish regions. The small, northern wine-growing region of La Rioja and the southeastern region of Murcia are the first Spanish regions to implement a raft of new measures.
The ban on smoking on the streets is already in place in two of Spain’s 17 autonomous regions, Galicia and the Canary Islands.
Spain’s remaining regional governments are expected to start implementing the new measures in the coming days. (Andalucia info below.)

BOJA publishes the order with the measures approved in the Interterritorial Health Council: {Translated from original, updated 16/08/2020} These actions affect various areas such as nightlife and hospitality.
The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía has published the order in which the measures approved last Thursday, August 14 in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System in the face of Covid-19 are collected.
These measures affect various areas such as nightlife, hotels and restaurants, mass events and health centers. In addition, common guidelines are established in CRP screening in specific groups, as well as the consumption of tobacco on public roads.
About the measures taken
As for recreational and recreational establishments for minors , their opening will not be authorized. For their part, hospitality establishments may not exceed 75% of the maximum capacity for consumption inside the premises, except for special hospitality establishments with defined music, which may not exceed 60% of their capacity, although, in the assumption that they are dedicated exclusively to the consumption of beverages, their opening will not be authorized. The consumer may take place at the bar or sitting at a table, or groups of tables, with a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum occupancy of ten people per table or group of tables. For these establishments, 1.00 am is established as the maximum closing time, without being able to admit new customers after 00.00.
Regarding mass events , a risk assessment must be carried out by the health authority in accordance with the provisions of the document ‘Recommendations for mass events and activities in the context of the new normal for Covid-19 in Spain’, agreed in the Public Health Commission of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System. Based on this evaluation, each event must have authorization . In any case, these events may carry out their activity until 1:00 a.m. maximum, including in said maximum hours any other activity that is developed as support or complement to the aforementioned events.
No Smoking allowed on public roads or in outdoor spaces when a minimum interpersonal distance of at least two meters cannot be respected. This limitation will also apply to the use of any other tobacco inhalation device, water pipes, hookahs or similar ones, including electronic cigarettes or vaping.
Regarding preventive measures in social health matters, companies will assess the risk of exposure of workers in each of the differentiated tasks they perform and in the different scenarios in which they can be developed. Likewise, the recommendations issued on the matter by the occupational risk prevention service must be followed, following the guidelines and recommendations made by the health authorities. In any case, these workers who return from leave and vacations, as well as new workers who join the center, will have to have a PCR for Covid-19 with a negative result 72 hours in advance at most.
Similarly, family visits to residential centers will be allowed, if the epidemiological situation together with certain characteristics of the center, such as the isolation capacity and the availability of its own health professionals, do not indicate a restriction or suspension of the same. In any case, the visit will last a maximum of one hour a day.
On the other hand, in the event of an epidemic outbreak and when so decided by the competent health authority in matters of public health, PCR tests will be introduced in those populations at risk and potentially exposed.
Finally, it is recommended that citizens limit social encounters outside the stable coexistence group and that these social encounters be limited to a maximum of 10 people.
Sanctions regime
Failure to comply with the measures published in the order will be subject to the procedure of the inspection activity and the sanctioned regime and sanctions established in Decree Law 21/2020, of August 4, which establishes the sanctioning regime for non-compliance with the prevention and containment measures applicable in Andalusia in the face of Covid-19.

German tour operator TUI cancels all organized trips to Spain: TUI has canceled since this Saturday all his organized trips to Spain after the German government discourage non-essential travel to the country due to the rebound in coronavirus cases.
The (German) Foreign Ministry advises against unnecessary trips to these regions (in reference to all of Spain except the Canary Islands), so with great regret we cancel all organized trips immediately and until August 24 TUI, the world’s largest tour operator, said in a statement. The company emphasizes that “trips to the Canary Islands are not affected” by this decision. In addition, the tour operator offers changes of destination to those who have not yet started their already booked vacations, as well as to advance the return to German travelers who are with one of their Spain vacation packages. Algorithm Determined UK Students’ Grades. Chaos Ensued: The coronavirus pandemic means exams were canceled and replaced with teacher assessments and algorithms. It has created chaos.
In Scotland, the government was forced to completely change tack after tens of thousands of students were downgraded by an algorithm that changed grades based on a particular school’s historical performance among other factors that are not directly related to the student’s test results. Anticipating similar scenes for today’s A-level results, the government in England has introduced what it’s calling a ‘triple lock’—whereby, via stages of appeals, students will effectively get to choose their grade from a teacher assessment, their mock exam results, or a resit to be taken in the autumn.
But there are huge problems there too. “Nobody is consulting with anybody about this,” says Rimfeld. “There are schools where there are no mocks, some schools do several mock exams—is it going to be the average? How is that going to work?”
There is a lot more to this story, read it here: https://www.wired.com/story/an-algorithm-determined-uk-students-grades-chaos-ensued/

What’s On

Tell them you saw it on DigameXtra!

Saturday August 15 is a National holiday, Assumption of Mary. Supermarkets in Torrox Costa have signs up saying they will remain open. I don’t know what the other shops plan on.
The Christian feast day of the Assumption of Mary celebrates the belief that God assumed the Virgin Mary into Heaven following her death.

CANCELLED- Velez-Malaga se mueve: 15 different activities will be carried out during the second half of August, designed for all audiences, taking part in different points of the historic centre of the town such as the Plaza del Carmen, the Plaza de Las Carmelitas and Cerro de San Cristóbal, among others. COMMUNICATION FROM THE VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA CITY COUNCILCANCELLATION OF ALL THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ‘VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA SE MOVE’ PERFORMANCE SERIES, AUGUST 2020. The City Council of Vélez-Málaga communicates that the entire program of the recently announced activities of ‘Vélez-Málaga Se Mueve’ – August 2020 is being canceled, the start of which was scheduled for the night of Friday, August 14 2020.
After learning about the new measures and recommendations announced this Friday by the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, about carrying out activities, meetings of people and nightlife; and after the figures that have been made public on the increase in coronavirus cases in the country in recent days, it is essential and a priority to guarantee citizen security and act with the utmost caution and responsibility in these difficult times.

Recommendations & Requests

Lockdown food: During lockdown and for some weeks after we relied on Cullens Supermarket in Nerja for our groceries. They provided an excellent weekly service delivering our order placed on line with them a day or so before. Being a local family firm we were able to phone them re our order and to add things even the same day. Reliable and nice to deal with. Prices good too.

First It Was Masks, Now We Need Nets? The West Nile Virus Arrives in Seville: It is transmitted via mosquito bites and has led to an outbreak of viral meningoencephalitis in Seville. A total of 19 people have caught the infection, which is a condition that simultaneously resembles meningitis and encephalitis. Of this number, 17 have been admitted into hospital and seven into intensive care. There are no vaccines or drugs to treat the hospitalized patients.
Last year, Seville was the site of the largest listeria outbreak in Spain’s history, with 222 cases, three deaths and seven miscarriages. In January, residents of Coria del Río discovered that the municipal sewage system was releasing toxic gasses that were harmful to human health. In mid-March, the area – like the rest of Spain – was placed under a strict lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19, and now the West Nile virus is threatening to destroy the local economy just as it was starting to recover from the confinement measures. Experts warn Spain is losing the 2nd round in virus fight: While an enhanced testing program is revealing that a majority of the newly infected are asymptomatic and younger, making them less likely to need medical treatment, concern is increasing as hospitals admit more patients again. Experts are working to determine why Spain is struggling more than other countries after western Europe had achieved a degree of control over the virus.
Spain, with a population of 47 million, leads Europe with 44,400 new confirmed cases in the past 14 days, compared with just 4,700 new cases reported by Italy, which has 60 million inhabitants and was the first European country to be rocked by the coronavirus. Spanish health minister announces closure of nightclubs, bars in bid to slow coronavirus spread: Salvador Illa detailed a raft of measures that were agreed at a meeting with regional health officials, including a ban on smoking in public when safe distancing cannot be observed/
Illa also said that bars and restaurants would need to guarantee a minimum safe distance of 1.5 meters between patrons at the bar and when they are eating at a table. The maximum number of diners will be limited to 10.
Illa also announced that new residents entering senior care homes would be subject to PCR tests to detect coronavirus infections, as would staff from such residences returning from their vacations. Visits to homes will also be limited to one person per resident with a maximum of one hour.
Another measure announced by Illa on Friday was a blanket ban across Spain on smoking in public if a two-meter distance cannot be observed.

By sea, rail or by air, Brits scramble to get out of France: The exodus was prompted by the British government’s decision late Thursday to take France off a list of nations exempt from traveler quarantine requirements because of a sharp rise there in new virus infections. For those who cannot work from home on their return, the mandatory self-quarantine could see them penalized financially. Full story: https://apnews.com/de267aeecfbb6d09678801eda7bcfd93

Germany declares Spain a risk zone for the coronavirus, including the Balearic Islands: The German federal government has declared Spain a risk zone due to the increase in cases of coronarvius, according to German media. Given the increase in infections, on this occasion, Germany has included the Balearic Islands in this travel notice. The Government warns that journeys should not be made if there is no need, while requiring a coronavirus test for travelers who arrive in Germany from any of these points. Thailand Shuts its Borders to Tourism Until 2021: Thailand has kept its borders completely closed to outside foreigners. The Telegraph reports that the ninth most visited country in the world (with 38.2 million tourists in 2019) has ruled out reopening internationally until at least 2021.
Chattan was also not optimistic about 2021: “Although we will reopen the borders in January, I do not expect us to exceed seven million tourists over the whole year.” It should be noted that tourism generates a substantial amount of revenue for the Asian country, 12 per cent of GDP (more than 60 billion dollars annually). So far, this nation that boasts of around 70 million inhabitants, Thailand has registered 3,300 cases and 58 deaths from Covid-19 in total. Interest in Kodi Declines After a Turmultuous Few Years of Piracy Headlines: Streaming sites and IPTV apps now dominate the pirate IPTV market. While there are still plenty of third-party Kodi addons available to facilitate access to infringing content, it now seems that for a number of reasons, the increased interest in Kodi for use as a piracy powerhouse seems to be on the decline.
Taking a look at Google Trends stats from August 1, 2014 (when XBMC changed to Kodi) to the present day August 2020, it appears that the search term ‘Kodi’ reached the peak of its popularity between February and April 2017. Today it’s just a fraction of what it was. Full story: https://torrentfreak.com/interest-in-kodi-declines-after-a-turmultuous-few-years-of-piracy-headlines-200811/

The EU Regulators go from protecting personal data to collecting and marketing your data: In a stunning reversal of their position of protecting your data, the EU’s data governance strategy, the Trusts Project, now promotes data sharing as a civic duty.
The European Union has long been a trendsetter in privacy regulation. Its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and stringent antitrust laws have inspired new legislation around the world. For decades, the EU has codified protections on personal data and fought against what it viewed as commercial exploitation of private information, proudly positioning its regulations in contrast to the light-touch privacy policies in the United States.
This new strategy represents a radical shift in the EU’s focus, from protecting individual privacy to promoting data sharing as a civic duty. Specifically, it will create a pan-European market for personal data through a mechanism called a data trust. A data trust is a steward that manages people’s data on their behalf and has fiduciary duties toward its clients.
The EU’s new plan considers personal data to be a key asset for Europe. However, this approach raises some questions. First, the EU’s intent to profit from the personal data it collects puts European governments in a weak position to regulate the industry. Second, the improper use of data trusts can actually deprive citizens of their rights to their own data. Amazon Alexa SmartSpeaker Bugs Allowed Hackers to Install Malicious Exploits Remotely: According to a new report released by Check Point Research, the “exploits could have allowed an attacker to remove/install malware on the targeted victim’s Alexa account, access their voice history and acquire personal information through app interaction when the user invokes the installed app.”
“Cybercriminals are continually looking for new ways to breach devices, or use them to infect other critical systems. Both the Alexa bridge and the devices serve as entry points. They must be kept secured at all times to keep hackers from infiltrating our smart homes.” Full story: https://thehackernews.com/2020/08/amazon-alexa-hacking-skills.html

easyJet and Jet2 Continue to Cancel Flights to Spain Up to Late September Bringing Uncertainty to the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca:
The increase in outbreaks across various regions has caused other countries to blacklist Spain and remove it from their portfolio of ‘safe travel’ destinations. Many countries have imposed a quarantine or mandatory PCR test for travellers coming from Spain. This uncertainty has also caused chaos for the travel industry and now flights are being cancelled once again. Some passengers have even had their flights cancelled by Jet2 and easyJet for bookings in late September.

Facebook Could Face €423 Billion of New Fines in Facial Recognition Lawsuits: The class-action lawsuit which was filed in San Mateo Superior Court by Illinois resident Kelly Whalen on August 10 alleges that Facebook and Instagram routinely harvested and shared its users’ biometric data without informing them or asking for consent to collect it.
Allegedly the programme worked along similar lines to an ‘influencer campaign,’ and if someone liked a product under the programme, Facebook generated a news feed endorsement using the person’s name, profile and photo. Wanted: Premises/ Venue. We are a small English speaking amateur dramatics group, in Nerja, which has traditionally met in the evenings every second week from October to April each winter, although on approximately 4 evenings we put on performances open to our members and the public, on which days we meet all day in order to rehearse, set things up etc. It would be helpful to have occasional occupation also at other times on an ad hoc basis, by arrangement.
We may have to relocate from the premises in which we currently operate and are therefore testing the water for an alternative in or close to Nerja.
Ideally, there should be a small stage, changing facilities and toilets, with room to sit audiences of 50 to 75 ( hopefully occasionally more) and space to store costumes, props and sound and lighting equipment – though that is looking for perfection!
It would be helpful to be able to dispense alcohol and to have basic catering facilities.
We would be very happy to share premises with other users, provided a mutually acceptable timetable can be agreed, or to sublet.
If anyone has or knows of any suitable premises or any person or organisation we might approach about our requirements, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Why are some people protected from Covid-19 without having contracted the disease?: New research suggests that exposure to other coronaviruses that cause the common cold could help develop antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. UK is in the largest recession on record: “It is clear that the UK is in the largest recession on record,” the Office for National Statistics said after gross domestic product contracted by 20.4 percent in the period from April to June.
Around 730,000 workers have been removed from the British payrolls since March. Announcements of job cuts have become a daily occurrence, with department store chain Debenhams axing 2,500 posts on Tuesday. The BoE expects the unemployment rate to hit around 7.5 percent by the end of the year and it forecasts that the British economy will have contracted by 9.5 percent for the whole of 2020. British Business Owners In Spain on the Costa Del Sol & Costa Blanca DEMAND to know what’s going on from Spanish government: After months without any real progress or changes concerned expats who took the decision to move to Spain and set up business have grave concerns and demand to know what plans the government in Spain actually have.
The gov’t stance of a simple ‘no comment’ has left many British expat business owners confused and bewildered as they feel they need to plan for the future; as well as expats, many suppliers to Spain are also duly concerned especially as this morning it was officially announced that Britain has hit a recession. Full story: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/08/12/british-business-owners-in-spain-on-the-costa-del-sol-costa-blanca-demand-to-know-whats-going-on-from-spanish-government/

The tiger mosquito has increased by 70% in Spain compared to last year: The ‘Aedes albopictus’, known colloquially as tiger mosquito, has increased its presence by 70% compared to the previous year during the first semester of 2020, according to data from the Mosquito Alert project with which the National Association of Environmental Health Companies (ANECPLA) collaborates. “High temperatures, heavy rains and the lack of maintenance of second homes, due to confinement by the coronavirus this spring have constituted the perfect Molotov cocktail that has driven the dizzying proliferation of the tiger mosquito this summer,“ they explain in a statement. Full story: https://spainsnews.com/the-tiger-mosquito-has-increased-by-70-in-spain-compared-to-last-year-la-provincia/

Low Wages Prevent Young Buyers In Spain From Buying Homes: Youth salaries in Spain need to DOUBLE if persons under 34 are to be able to buy homes.
Young Spaniards should have a take-home salary of 1,935.57 euros per month to be able to buy a home without allocating more than 30% of their income, exactly double (101.41% more) of the salary of salaried employees under 34 years of age. At the end of 2019, only 18.7% of Spanish youth had been eligible.
A young person who wants to buy a house financing 80% of the sale price should be prepared to make a down payment of 4.1 times his annual salary, according to data published by the Emancipation Observatory of the Spanish Youth Council (CJE). In these conditions it would cost about €47,104.
Before the coronavirus crisis, one in five young people with work was at risk of poverty and exclusion social, since they tend to have jobs characterized by precariousness and temporality.
Of the young people who ended up with a job last year, 55.4% did so in temporary positions and, above all, in sectors where the coronavirus has destroyed a lot of jobs, such as hospitality or tourism.
“The purchase of a home has been impossible for a young person for more than a decade,” they explained from the Youth Council. Even the oldest youth, those between 30 and 34 years old, they would have to earn 48.23% more to be able to buy a house. Do Your Windows Updates: Microsoft earlier today released its August 2020 batch of software security updates for all supported versions of its Windows operating systems and other products.
This month’s Patch Tuesday updates address a total of 120 newly discovered software vulnerabilities, of which 17 are critical, and the rest are important in severity.
In a nutshell, your Windows computer can be hacked if you:
-Play a video file — thanks to flaws in Microsoft Media Foundation and Windows Codecs
-Listen to audio — thanks to bugs affecting Windows Media Audio Codec
-Browse a website — thanks to ‘all time buggy’ Internet Explorer
-Edit an HTML page — thanks to an MSHTML Engine flaw
-Read a PDF — thanks to a loophole in Microsoft Edge PDF Reader
-Receive an email message — thanks to yet another bug in Microsoft Outlook
But don’t worry, you don’t need to stop using your computer or without Windows OS on it. All you need to do is click on the Start Menu ? open Settings ? click Security and Update, and install if any new update is available.
Or switch to Linux and forget about this patching flaws foolishness. If Windows did proper pre release testing this would not even be necessary. Instead they rely on the public to report bugs and then Microsoft issues fixes. That is NOT the way this is supposed to work. Users expect a secure system when they buy a new Windows computer. We did not volunteer to be test subjects in an unfinished project, and then to add insult to injury, we pay for the right to do so. Registration will be free and includes Nordic Walking poles, so that those who do not have any may use some loaned for the occasion.
