The Nerja Town Hall Foreigners Department informs of the following news:
- URGENT AND VERY IMPORTANT.
1,600 FOREIGNERS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE NERJA PADRON POPULATION LIST IF YOU DO NOT COME TO THE TOWN HALL TO RENEW YOUR PADRON BEFORE 31ST MARCH
All Foreigners registered on Nerja Town Hall Padron population list must renew their inscription every 2 years. When this time has passed, they will be deregistered. The Padron is very important as according to the number of persons registered, the town will be able to have more doctors, health centres, police, schools, firemen, infrastructure and other services.
The Town Hall receives every year approx. 150 € per person registered on the Padron from the central and local government. The government establishes that every 2 years all foreigners must confirm that they still continue on the Padron. Otherwise they will be considered as not living in the town anymore. Consequently, they would not figure on the population list for the town to receive grants. Also you will lose all your benefits and rights.
If by March 31st, Foreigners who are on the renewing list and have not come to confirm their Padron, will be deregistered. Nerja will lose around 1,600 inhabitants. This means that Nerja will not receive a great amount of money to give services to the town. It is very important for the Town Hall not to lose these persons. You will receive a reminder letter, but after a few attempts, this letter will be returned if you are not at the house.
To avoid queuing, the best way to check if you have to renew your Padron is by sending an email to the Town Hall Foreigners Department to extranjeros@nerja.es stating your name and NIE number. We will check and email you back.
Also you can see Jacky at the Foreigners Department on the ground floor, or see Angeles or Manolo at the Main Reception also on the ground floor (on the left). Please bring a photocopy of any kind of identification; Preferably the NIE certificate, but also you can make a copy of your passport, identity card, driving licence, medical card, etc. We will confirm if you have to renew your Padron and if so, you just have to sign a form. Opening Hours:
Foreigners Department: Monday & Thursday from 10:00 to 13:30
Main Reception: Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 14:00
Also we would appreciate that all Presidents of Communities inform their neighbourhood to come and check their Padron with us.

Advice for anyone who thinks they have a virus or malware infection.
Ccleaner although effective in cleaning out History, stored internet information etc is essentially a CLEANING/maintenance programme and will do little or nothing if you have a computer infection.
If anyone wants a free and easy to use maintenance programme that goes a lot further than Ccleaner, I recommend Advanced System Care 9 FREE. One button maintenance.
- Do a System Restore. This can be done as a first or second line of defence if you have a Ransom Demand, Pop Ups from dubious sites, your computer slows to a crawl etc. etc., although some Ransom Demand pop ups could require the services of an IT specialist.
- Always have at least two well recommended anti virus programmes on your computer because every anti virus programme known will not find all infections on a computer. Your normal one that protects your machine in Real Time and another like MalwareBytes (free and trusted by many IT professionals) as back up but DISABLED until you think you have an infection, as two anti virus programmes running at the same time will cause conflict, slow running etc. Before running any anti virus programme, do an UPDATE.
- If you know how to put your computer in Safe Mode With Networking, do this before running a virus scan with the option of . This is because viri can mutate and hide in places not normally accessed in normal running mode when being chased by an anti virus programme.

If you think you have serious issues of any sort with your computer, there are two good advisory and free help websites run by experienced IT volunteers.
I have used them in the past to get rid of persistant viruses and other deep rooted computer problems.

There will be other and different advice out there but by using these basic guidelines you can free your computer of most viruses at home without paying for the services of a professional.

What an experience !
A menu prepared by Henning, a Michelin chef.
An intimate atmosphere with room for only 12 persons on any evening.
On my visit I enjoyed some Bach cello music played by Internationally renowned cellist Nella Hunkins.
This was fine dining and wonderful music that will live in my memory.
I need to get on the waiting list …….. the menu is mouth watering and the food is just divine.

Recommendation La Pergola, Torrs del Mar
I was told by a friend today about a restaurant in Torre del Mar, its called La Pergola situated on Paseo Maritimo not far from Club Nautico. Italian food all freshly cooked on the premises at very reasonable prices. If you have not arranged your Christmas Day lunch yet, their menu sounds lovely. As they are a bit out of the way they could do with people being aware of their restaurant.

What’s on– Lonely ?
This isn’t an offer to come to our house and share our Christmas, I’m afraid, but there may well be people out there who are single, widowed or divorced, who have time weighing heavily on their hands and need to get out and meet others. The demographic of the expat community is largely retired.
I’ve just read this article and wonder if it could be used to galvanise more interest and involvement in social and sociable activities. As with everything, use it or lose it: the less you socialise, the less you want to socialise!
