Explanation of a Denuncia

A denuncio is a report made, usually to the police, of an offence or a failure. I had to make a denounce because I wanted a Spanish Driving licence.

The authorities wanted both parts of my British licence, but as most British can tell you, the second part of the licence became redundant in July and was replaced by an on-line system. I did not have my paper copy.

The only way was to report the “loss” of my licence as a denuncio.

You can make a denuncia to the Policia Nacional by phone and in English by phoning 902 102112.

You then have 48 hours to call in to the Policia Nacional station of your choice to sign it. Obviously take your passport and NIE!

For those living in Velez Malaga or Torre del Mar the police station is the same building you get your NIE and Residencia from, but you use a little door on the side of the building next to the garage doors. There is no sign!

You go in the door and there is a waiting room on the right.

There is a glass partition and the door is locked.

There is a sign on the door in Spanish. It says do not knock!

After waiting for five or ten minutes the police officer will take you in, scrutinise your documents and issue the denuncio. It’s simple when you know how!

My 10 year old son would like to join a club or similar to go mountain biking. Does anyone know of any clubs local to Torrox Pueblo that offer this activity?

Landline fault 104

When our line went down not long ago we called 104. Yes the response is rapid.  I listen for  key words, I.e  Epanol pulsar 1, Inglais 2.  You can press any of these and then ask for.  Quero habla persona en Inglais por favor. I have always managed to speak to an English speaking person without problems.                  You may have had a slight problem because of it being holiday time.  I don’t think its because you were using a mobile.                                 Gina

Does anyone know were we can take a vacuum cleaner (working but not sucking much) for repairing ?
