More dogs desperately needing homes

Give a Dog a Home Rescue Malaga have been asked by a UK couple to try and re-home their six small dogs. This is a critical situation, as they have to return to England due to chronic health problems and move into rented accommodation with their son where, unfortunately, they are not allowed to have pets.

They have been desperately trying to find homes but, as yet, have had little success, although it is possible we may have a home for one or, possibly, two. Are there any Digamites out there who could offer any of these little chaps/chapesses a home? We have many more photos and full information on each dog.

This is a family of dogs – a Mum (Yorkie cross aged 6 years), Dad (Chihuahua cross aged 4 years) and four offspring (3 girls and 1 boy aged 3 years).

Processionary Caterpillars

In regards to Chris’s question regarding the dreaded Processionary Caterpillars, the answer is

Yes they do come out early when we have a mild winter like we are experiencing this year.

It stands to reason if it is colder higher in the mountains then they will start marching later in the year.

We have had reports that they are already on the move in some areas – so if there are pine trees near where you walk your dogs you should take extra precautions – like keeping them on a lead and carry a bottle of water to flush their mouths out in the event of an emergency.

Also, be vigilant to never let your dog pick up anything while it is on walkies as it could be poison and it is a good idea to keep your vet’s number in your mobile or handy at all times. Cheers and Happy New Year.

Question :- Sand on the Beach at Torrox

Do any Digamites in Digameland know what is going with the sand piled up on the beach near Laguna Beach, Torrox Costa?
For several weeks I’ve watched lorry after lorry drop off sand, it appeared some sort of break water was being built out to sea, however a week ago this disappeared and now there is a long line of sand piled up with a drop between that and the beach.

Question – English Car Insurance

I am going back to England for a few weeks and can borrow a car whilst I am there, I have a full European licence (Spanish) but am a British national.

I have been told I can get short term insurance for myself, without being added to my friend’s car insurance. I’ve tried to get quotes on-line but at the last minute get a “we cannot give a quote at this time”
Does any one have a recommended insurer.

Do shop around. I had quotes from 30-70 euro to translate each of my degree certificates.

What’s on- . FREE Circuit Training Sessions – Competa –

10th January!

Get fit for FREE in 2016!

We are resuming FREE Circuit Training in 10th January in Competa every Sunday at 10am. Circuit training is a great way to get fit in a fun, group environment. We have 8-10 fitness stations which you stay on for 1 minute at a time before moving on to the next with motivational music to help you exercise. A station may be a core, upper or lower body exercise that you take at your own pace.

Suitable for all fitness levels and adult ages. It will be an held on an outside gym terrace so dress appropriately and bring hydration/water and a towel. Full instruction will be given by a qualified personal trainer. The session will last an hour and guaranteed to make you sweat! Why not start your new years resolution and get fit in 2016?

We end the session with a tea or coffee and cake. You are welcome to come along and take a look to see what its about and stay for tea and coffee.

Lots of parking outside.

Booking recommended as places are limited.

The classes will take place at Chili Leisure, Avenida Juan Pablo II, Competa – on the road towards the Campo de Futbol.

What’s on- or Not ?? Reading & Singing Groups in Nerja ?

Anyone out in the Nerja area interested in i
1 . A book club, preferably male and female, not a gossip club but one which really explores good and interesting reading and the discussions afterwards albeit with a glass of something to help along the way. Maybe there us already one out there if so perhaps you could let me know.
2 I know there is a lovely choir up in Vinuela but i cannot get there in the evening. Is anyone interested in exploring forming a new choir in the Nerja area. I sing because i love it not because i am a wonderful singer. We could meet and discuss options.

Wanted Danish Oil & Filofax

Does any one know where to buy Danish oil for wood finishing. I couldn’t even find it in Malaga. I know that Argos stocks it, does anyone do Argos orders in Andalucia? I am in Torrox, but willing to drive.

On another subject, i’m looking for a refillable diary, the filofax kind (though not filofax prices) Eroski has the refills, but not the diaries, .
