In a cruel twist victims of pensions scams could receive hefty tax bills in the coming weeks. Many people have fallen for the promise of early access to their pension, often with the added sweetener of getting their money tax-free. However, it is impossible to access your pension tax-free before you turn 55 unless you are in ill health. And plenty of people who have fallen for one of these scams will soon receive a ‘protective assessment’ letter from HM Revenue & Customs, amounting to demands for thousands of pounds in tax. To make matters worse many victims of pension liberation scams may have lost all the money that HMRC is now demanding they pay tax on. This is because many of these scams see people transfer their pension savings into a bad investment that swallows up their cash, or they were simply robbed of their pension by the scammers.

Question – Re Dogs in the Campo

Does anyone out there know if there are any rules and regulations

about letting dogs in the Campo, roam free over other people’s land.

We are troubled by several dogs, all rescued ones, that weren’t local

to us when we bought our property. Now, we have to put up with them

roaming free, and leaving their mess all over the place.

There is also the barking, both day and night.

Is there anything we can do?

Still seeking a home – Lovely small female dog found in Competa

A kind lady has approached Action for Animals for help as she has taken in a lovely small, sterilised, female dog, “Laica” who she found shivering on a cold night at the top of Competa Pueblo.

She already has dogs and a number of cats so she cannot keep her much longer.

Do you recognise her? Could you foster her? or offer her a permanent home?

She is small, black and tan, approximately 2 years old, very affectionate and sociable and gets on well with people and other dogs – but not so keen on cats.

She is sterilised, parasite free and would make a wonderful companion – she doesn’t need a lot of space.

Services – Change in Alsa Timetable from 1st March?

When I checked the Alsa timetables for buses from El Morche to Torre del Mar/Malaga for March there is only one bus listed at 10:15. Previously there was quite a full schedule from 7:15 in the morning until 21:25in the evening but this seems to stop on 29th February. Can anyone shed any light on what is happening?

Recommendation- Oscar – Self Closing RCCBs

I would like to second Steve M’s recommendation for Oscar Pinazo and the self closing RCCB’s he fits. Ourselves and four neighbours had them fitted, and after the storm on Friday evening, which would have tripped out some of electrical systems, we all had power the next morning. A brilliant idea and excellent service from Oscar Pinazo. Pete.

 

 

Recommendation Pellet Stoves

We bought our pellet stove 14 years ago from Bisonte in Velez Malaga.

It is an EcoForest and whilst expensive to buy and install has saved us

so much money in fuel.

It is easy to clean and has required very little in maintenance.

Bisonte are very efficient in dealing with any maintenance required.

I would definitely recommend both Bisonte and EcoForest.

What’s on Torrox Costa Wellness Class

My original ad for this class was published last week.  This is a follow up, with a little more information.

The first class will be held at 1400 this Tuesday, Feb 2.  Torrox Costa, Av de Faro.  For the first class, we will meet at 2 at the Street level in front of the Necropolis and walk to the Playa Chica down below.  If for some reason you are late, just walk down to the little beach which is in front of the ruin.

I do have a release form that I will ask you to sign before attending the class.

I would like to keep the class number at about 10 members.  I currently have only 2 spaces left.  Don’t be shy if you’d like to join.  I will be in Torrox till the 19th of February.   I am developing this class to use when I return to the US.  I’m hoping to help members build a skill set they can use independently in the time I am here.

The cost?  Donations only, and a bit of your time.

What Was On…..

AAR/RBL joint fundraisers for January… Last Sunday we had our ‘Sunday with a difference’ the trip to Guzman Garden Centre, La Trocha Rastro and then on to Deacons Coin, for an all you can eat Carvery – followed by a day trip to Gibraltar on the 27th, raising a total of 519e to be split between the 2 charities. 259.50e will go into the RBL Benajarafe Poppy Appeal, and 259.50e will go to AAR neutering and puppy milk/food. Thank you to everyone that supported us, we could not raise this amount of money without you.. Liz & Sam xx

The text of the email should be what you’d like to see published – but note:

All formatting, pretty colours, bold, underlining, strange fonts etc are automatically removed.

Please – Don’t use all Block CAPITALS LIKE THIS or I may have to send it back for you to put into normal case (This is the way people normally write, with capital letters where appropriate – such as “I” and place names “Malaga”, makers’ names such as “Electrolux”, days of the week “Monday”

Blocked btinterent access to DigameXtra….. Help please

Please – if you have any friends using a btinternet.com email address – tell them the following (I cannot contact them)

 

“If you longer receive DigameXtraor or any explanatory emails from me-  it is the fault of your BT service.

MY email is making it to your BT server, where it is blocked by that server. “

 

There is a prompt at the end of their emails that tells them this.
