Interesting to note that the BBC are only looking to interview people who would intend to vote to leave the EU, and those who have no interest in the outcome of the vote.
It seems they are not interested in the views of those who would vote to stay in the EU.

You ask the question if you should pay for a Police officers incompetence, but in fact you are not. Assuming the fine for the offence was €500 at the time of the offence, then you are paying for your action of speeding, not his action of giving you the wrong amount. However all is not lost, if you want to argue. Getting up the nose of the police though is possibly not wise.
You could ask to see the evidence you were committing an offence that warrants a €500 fine.
You could write back asking if there was a 50% discount on the €500 for prompt payment, you gave evidence of prompt payment so if there is then you only owe €150.
You could ask which legal statute allows them to reissue a fine that has already been paid in a previous financial year. If they can quote the statute then you will need to pay, but I suspect they can’t do it.
In fact you could make them work so hard for the money they give up, but there is the risk they will remember you and take the “arrogante inglés” down at the next opportunity.

Just on the subject of Kindling & the Warning….
It is quite true that charcoal used indoors can be dangerous! only recently a couple died because they took their BBQ inside their caravan died as a result from the toxic fumes from the charcoal! so not to be recommended at all to burn charcoal indoors at all.

I have recently had my ears syringed at Clinica Rincon, Torre del Mar.
Branches also in Nerja and Rincon de la Victoria.
They use a dry suction method rather than water as in the health centers.
€72 for both ears, probably less with private medical insurance.
It is necessary to book an appointment.

Wanted – Low wattage bayonet bulb
During the storms a couple of weeks back the lightning blew up a number of our light bulbs, one being in my UK Tiffany light. I always prefer to use a low wattage bulb but cannot find the bayonet fitting ones here. I have looked in Dunnes (who don’t seem to stock them) and Russells (they only had the old 100w ones) and a number of Chinese bazaars to no avail. I am looking for a small (equivalent to ‘candle’ style and size) low wattage (around 8w) bulb if anyone can help? Barbara
