Guide “Blog” for the Blind…
Do you know anyone with low vision or are blind?
Over two years ago i started to write a blog aimed primarily at expats living in Spain, “The Expats Window.” At that time i estimated that there were approx. 34000 blind or vision impaired British and German expats living in Spain and there was a distinct lack of support available. The 34000 excludes other foreign nationals. Over time the readership of the blog has steadily increased. Not surprisingly the greatest number of hits are from the USA but Spain is 4th behind the UK and Ukraine!!
There are light-hearted as well as the more serious articles with information about the latest research into treatments for eye diseases such as Macula Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa. The Blind Expats Window is a platform for entertainment, information and discussion. I am continuously looking for new contributions especially with local (Spanish) interest for posting and of course new readers. Most people who are officially registered as Blind have some vision, in that i include myself, and by various means manage to read albeit sometimes with difficulty.
I only ask if anyone out there know of someone who fits the bill please let them know about the Blind Expats window. I look forwars to many more hits and contributions from Spain.

Relaxed and fun beach exercise in Nerja –

This is open to any level and it’s free of charge.
We (Sally & I) will be on Playazo Beach tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 February, for warm up, general & circuit exercise, warm down and stretching. So please come along and get started on energising you and working your body.
There’ll be more sessions too, depending on demand, both on Playazo and Burriana Beaches in Nerja.
We’ll be in front of the large car park (the one with road access) on the beach side at 6 pm.

Coach Excursion to Cordoba Patios.
Please come and join friends of Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar on a 2 day/ 1 night coach excursion to see the Festival of the Cordoba Patios.
This is a contest of patios and crosses that was first started in 1918, where house owners of the city decorate their homes with beautiful flowers and plants in order to win the prestigious awards presented by the municipality.
The patios are in various parts of the city, close to the Jewish quarter and Cathedral and the finest example is found in the Palacio de Viana.
The first day you will stop for breakfast on the way to Cordoba where you will arrive at approximately 11.00h. You will check in to the 3* Hotel Selu, which is situated about a 10 minutes walk to the Cathedral. The rest of the day is free to discover the city and have dinner.
After breakfast on the second day there will be a guided tour in English of the patios, after which there will be free time to have lunch and the coach will depart from Cordoba at 16.30h. Ticket price for a double room 95 Euros per person, single room 115 Euros available at the Centre. This includes the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis, guided tour, coach and insurance. Proceeds for fundraising. Departure times Viñuela (Football Pitch) 7.10h, Algarrobo (Lidl) 7.35h, Caleta (vets) 7.40h, Torre del Mar (Bus Station) 7.50h.

What’s On The 8th Art Walk in Cómpeta!
Wednesday 23, Thursday 24, Saturday 26, Sunday 27 March 11.00 – 19.00h.
This event aims to bring together the community in an animated, artistic atmosphere and will be hosted at various venues in Cómpeta. The weekend will offer people, with an interest in art, the chance to meet artists of Cómpeta and out of the region and see lots of artworks…Paintings, graphics, drawings, jewelry, turned wood, textile art and bronze & metal sculptures will be shown. More than 28 artists & craftsmen will participate! Plus live music & workshops. We welcome you to the 8th Art Walk!
