Warning – Processionary Caterpillars…
Whilst walking my dog this evening I saw two rows of these caterpillars crossing the track.
This was about 7pm on Carril del Espejo, Competa, about 500 metres before the boundary with Torrox. Map reference 36.788257, –3.971101.
There is a pine tree near the track covered in nests so they are obviously on the move. Take care. Alan.
Sad News –
As a dear friend of Sheena, and on behalf of her husband John and family, I am very sad to advise you that Sheena died on 23rd February in Velez Comarcal Hospital. The funeral is on Sunday 28th at 12noon at La Esperanza, c/camino de cementerio, s/n Velez Malaga. tel 952 54 93 45 or 952 50 15 81. Organic Coconut Oil You can get Organic Coconut Oil in Eroski in El Ingenio in Velez-Malaga. Just under 6 euro for a jar. I think Iranzos in Nerja also stocks it but it is a lot more expensive. Cecilia

Praise for Telfonica Movistar’s great service
Over the past ten years I’ve heard many complaints about Movistar (Telefonica). Typically people claim they are slow, they don’t fix problems, their ADSL connections fail to meet promised speed, and their staff don’t speak English.
We have had a Movistar landline ADSL data connection packaged with a mobile phone for years. When there has been the occasional problem it has been solved either by phoning 1004, where there are English speaking personnel (we don’t speak Spanish), or by going to one of the Movistar shops.
I recently doubled the ADSL speed to 20Mb in a simple online process after discovering, while doing a routine internet speed check, that I could get twice the speed at no extra cost. I ordered it online and it worked three hours later. The speed we actually get is 19.5Mb.
Two days ago our Movistar ADSL modem/router stopped working. The lights went out and it was dead. I phoned 1004 and within 30 seconds I had an English speaking lady on the phone. The problem was quickly registered and I was told a technician would call me. That happened two hours later. He asked if I was home and if so he would be at our house in five minutes (up beyond Competat at Canillas de Albaida). He came with a new router and it was up and running perfectly within 10 minutes, at no charge to us. A very helpful man who even spoke quite good English.
We pay a very few euros more a month for our package compared with other services we have seen, but the peace of mind we achieve from having a reliable internet, also for hassle-free TV, is worth every cent. I am very satisfied with Movistar’s services. The speed at which our dead modem/router problem was solved is just outstanding.

Wanted – Free Range Eggs
Can anyone tell me where I can buy proper free range eggs. By free range I mean the chickens spend some time outdoors. I know the supermarkets have a version of fresh campo eggs, but I prefer to buy direct from owners if possible.
I have been buying my eggs from a Spanish man in the campo, who assured me my eggs came from country local chickens. I have since found out the chickens do live locally in the campo, but never leave the shed, to me that’s not free range.
