Which Band Played Friday Morning?
Does anyone know the name of the band who were playing on the Balcon in Nerja yesterday morning? Question re Solar Heating Configuration
I wonder if there is anyone who has experience with this problem out there in Digameland
I would like solar heating for my water but I only have water on the ground floor.
The best place for a panel is on the top terrace three storeys up.
That wastes a lot of water running the hot down to the ground floor.
I thought the best solution is to generate electricity on the top terrace and use it to power an immersion heater in my tank.
Is this viable? Legal? Safe?
Anyone with the experience out there, please help either to me or publicly.

We have been to Soloptical in El Engenio and have been very satisfied. My wife completed the Eye Test in Spanish. I however asked if the optician spoke English and found she was quite fluent,
so I did my eye test in English. She was very thorough and I thoroughly recommend them.

Going to see your doctor can be a worrying time for you, be it for your annual check up, or for something a bit more serious. It only adds to that worry if you don’t understand what is being said to you.
Let me help you with that. Fifteen years experience as an interpreter in the hospital allows me to ask the questions you might not have thought of and to explain, in a sensible way, the diagnosis medication or paperwork you need to aid you on the road to recovery.

Services Needed –Speedy Telephone Package
Having moved to El Morche (far end just before leaving el Morche) and had Movistar/Telefonica fusion package installed, the best speed we get is 2.5 megabits, which they are now telling me is all we can hope for in this area.
Can anyone confirm this for me?
Or tell me if there are other providers with a decent speed?

Recommendation –Photos for Passports, Licences etc…
If anybody is in need of photographs for passports or driving licence etc, I can thoroughly recommend New York Photo in Torre del Mar. If you stand in front of the big church in the centre of town, next to what was the tram station, the shop is painted bright red and set back just to the right of the church. We walked in wanting photos for a UK passport and Spanish driving licence. Within five minutes we were walking out with perfect photos. The shop owner takes the photo and alters the background accordingly on computer (grey for UK passport etc) and even cuts them out to the right size! Four euros for a set of four shots. Quick and efficient and cheap. Nigel.

Recommendation- Competa Local Police
Cómpeta is suffering from a serious lack of water, so i got quite upset, when I came home at about 18 yesterday and found a large leak in a water tube at the boundary of our plot. The Town Hall did not answer the phone at that time, so in desperation I emailed the Alcalde and the responsible for the water, hoping that someone might still be around. Why do these things always happen on Friday evenings!!
Even thought about phoning the police, but, well, perhaps not their line of work.
At about 19, two very concerned officers from the Policia Local called at our house! They had observed the water running across the road. We had a look at the well where the water could be shut off, but it was locked. They tried calling the Town Hall’s plumbers, first without success, but soon apparently they succeeded: the water was closed off!!
Good to see that the situation is being watched. Also our good neighbor came around the see what was happening.
So, next time this happens out of normal business hours, I will not hesitate to call the Policia Local! Birgit
