Services Available – Facebook Query

Am I the only person here that does not have (and does not want) a Facebook account and therefore cannot access information by businesses that use it instead of having a website?

I thought that there was a ‘public’ setting when setting up Facebook whereby people that are not registered users can still view the page?

Perhaps this is no longer the case.

I really do not want to be on Facebook so that means I cannot view the businesses that have a link to their Facebook page on Digame.

( Our resident tech adviser responds: FB still has the  “Public” setting. However, this is often set by default to “Friends” by FB to encourage non-FB Users to join. Causal FB users often do not notice this feature and leave the default. This, among other annoyances like “Suggested Pages” and false friend requests, explains the gaining popularity of individual websites. Be sure to explain this to businesses you patronize.)

The subject line of the email should be what you’d like to see as your heading – otherwise, I choose a subject line

The text of the email should be what you’d like to see published – but note:

 Prices must be included with items for sale.

If your first attempt to sell fails, note that a second attempt will not be allowed unless the original price is reduced considerably, nor for at least 2 weeks later.

Sellers must include the make (brand) and model number of an item if it has them. All electronics, appliances and musical instruments have “makers” and most have “model numbers”. Submissions that violate this rule will be returned to the sender for correction.

Photos will only be published once.

Photos must be in JPG or JPEG Format

Please do not send ads for property / real estate.

All formatting, pretty colours, bold, underlining, strange fonts etc are automatically removed.

Please – Don’t use all Block CAPITALS LIKE THIS or I may have to send it back for you to put into normal case (This is the way people normally write, with capital letters where appropriate – such as “I” and place names “Malaga”, makers’ names such as “Electrolux”,    days of the week “Monday”

You must include contact details, either an email address or a telephone number in the text. If you don’t I cannot publish it. Often I cannot “extract “your email address from the email, so repeat it please.

If you want to send a picture please send it as an attachment to your email, in JPG or JPEG format and try and keep the size down to around 200KB.

Please don’t send PDFs or Word documents.

Your email address must be quoted in this format…I insert spaces within the address so that nasty software can’t steal their address for spam purposes – e,g, my address is correctly   janekirkspain@gmail,com

if it were a Contributor’s address I’d insert spaces thus –

So all you do is remove those spaces before contacting a contributor.
