Bouquet to Baviera Golf staff and Taller Bosch garage
Late last Friday we were stranded with our hire car after spotting two nails in the front tyre.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to 1) the Baviera golf office staff who called a number of garages for us to find out who could help and

Does anyone know someone who speaks native Spanish for a small group of 3 or 4 mature people who want to improve their “intermediate” level conversational Spanish.

Recommendation – Personal training
I don’t normally give recommendations unless I am really impressed – well I have been very, very impressed by the personal training services offered by Adam Irving of HotBod health and fitness.
I was feeling very unfit and struggled to get up hills without huffing and puffing.
I am an asthma sufferer with arthritic joints. So in the end the more I didn’t exercise the more I couldn’t exercise, it was a bit of a downward cycle.
Then I met Adam just over 8 weeks ago.
He comes to my house twice a week to help me to get fitter – and it’s working.
I can feel the changes happening. Clothes fit better, in fact I am fitting into clothes that I have not worn for years! I can walk up the big hill in Competa without puffing and I feel so much better in myself
I sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed – I have not felt like that for years!!.
Adam is working to my abilities, but he gently pushes to make me do a bit more each time so I can progress. He is gentle and does not shout at me. Overall Adam is a nice young man who works very professionally to give you the best service possible
His prices are not expensive so give him a call and make those changes today.

41 Club Nerja (Ex Round Tablers)
Eighteen couples from 41 Club Nerja (Ex Round Tablers) spent a wonderful three days in Villamora in Portugal at the ‘Cluster’ of the six 41 Clubs on the Iberian Cluster. The photographs show the team ready to join the rest of the 200 plus members and wives in attendance at the formal gala dinner. The Clubs involved are found in the Algarve, Costa del Sol, Nerja, Gibralta, Mallorca and Costa Blanca.
Our 41 Club has found eight new members in the last three months taking our membership to forty five and we are always looking for new blood. Most of our members do not live in Spain full time making us somewhat of a ‘drop-in’ club. So if you are around from one month to twelve moths per year and you are an Ex Round Tabler you are most welcome.
We have an International flavour to 41 Club Nerja with nine different countries being represented. We involve our ladies by taking them out for a lunch every first Thursday of the month which we call our ‘Munch Bunch’. On the third Thursday the gents have our 41 Clib meeting and those wives that wish to join us in the bar for a drink and then go off for a meal and join us later.

LUZ-Art on show from the international Symposium LUZ week
Inspiration fuels art. There are times when the artist desperately chases their muse and times when they patiently wait for it to find them in their studio, but they know that nothing resonates without it. When artists from all over the world come together to share a single workspace for a week, this elusive inspiration naturally starts to percolate. On 16 October 2016, 10 artists traveled from 9 different countries (Belarus, Israel, India, Azerbaijan, Armenia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and Denmark) to the picturesque mountain village of Cómpeta, Málaga, Spain for the 2nd International Art Symposium LUZ to begin making new works. While they came from different artistic disciplines and spoke entirely differently languages, each artist made the long journey to Cómpeta to share in this exciting new experience together. Organized by Cómpeta artist and gallery owner Lieuwke Loth, the town of Cómpeta turned their Town Hall into the Salón de Actos for one week, inviting visitors to observe and talk with each artist at work. During this period, 17-22 October, these artists were also given the rare opportunity to observe and connect with each other while they worked, learn new processes and techniques, and ultimately use it to inform their own work. The International Art Symposium LUZ gives as much to the town of Cómpeta as it does to its artists. On the first day of the symposium there was a public introduction of each artist along with a slideshow of their work. Then, for the next five days residents and tourists were able to see how the village of Cómpeta influences each artist through the work they produce. While Cómpeta is already thriving with working artists and international visitors, the Symposium event gives both locals and tourists a venue to engage with one another instead of simply passing each other in the town’s narrow streets. This year’s symposium featured a bronze casting workshop, where master caster Daan van Neerven lead participants through the steps of casting their own small wax sculpture in bronze. The group exhibition at the end of the symposium was not just a display of the pieces that were created during this time, but a celebration of Cómpeta’s role in bringing together so many different cultures and nationalities. As artists and visitors left the symposium at the end of the week they undoubtedly returned to their countries describing a place of immaculate beauty, inspiring creative energy, and abundant support for arts and culture. The artists‘ works remain on display at Gallery Luz de la Vida from 22 October through 26 November. The International Symposium puts an international spotlight on this small mountain village, building it a reputation as an exciting, creative haven for artists and art lovers alike. From Saturday 22 October on, all the work is exhibited in Gallery Luz de la Vida to show the final results of the week. The exhibition will be on show till Saturday 26 November.

What’s on- Visit to Rute
The Phoenix Club is off on Friday 25th November 2016 to visit Rute, an inland village in the province of Cordoba. It is a lovely drive and once there we will visit their chocolate and biscuit factory and ooh and ahh at their famous Belen made entirely of chocolate. In addition we visit the Azucar Museum where we will see their fabulous sugar creations made entirely of sugar, in the afternoon we will pop into the Anise Museum where we will be able to sample their wares and buy a bottle or two for Christmas and also taste their sausages, a delicacy of the region.
Rute’s primary economy centres on the extensive production of foodstuffs including dozens of different makes of Anis and traditional Spanish hams.
Rute comes from the word “Ruta” or “Route” in English. A route that Spanish soldiers followed when they were going to conquest Granada was the beginning of Rute. Later, the first “anis” factory was opened. Because of this, more factories were opened and this municipality became one of the most important makers of anis for over the world. Today, most of these factories are still open and a lot of people go to Rute at Christmas for the sweets that are made there.
