PAD Animal Rescue flooded- Help Desperately Needed Please

Some of you will be aware that PAD animal rescue was flooded in the heavy rain when the nearby river burst its banks near Miramar Centre in Fuengirola. Thanks to the brave volunteers the animals were taken to safety. One dog escaped and is still missing.

However everything-just everything-has been destroyed. Food, bedding the lot. A clean up operation begins Tuesday if anyone could volunteer as help desperately needed.

A lot of the volunteers lost personal belongings inc phones etc.

APA Estacion Esperanza nerja is having a collection of bedding, food-anything that could be used to keep the animals warm. Please contact Laura leanne Downes at Nerja Property Services, 5 Av Castilla Perez Nerja, or Jackie Downes in Nerja Household Centre located opposite Nerja property Services.

Any old jumpers, jackets, duvets-this is a real emergency.

Rental Needed-Winter rental/house-sit wanted in Nerja/Torrox Costa,

January to end of March.

We are a couple in our sixties, quiet, respectful, non smokers & no pets. We are regular visitors to the Axarquia, usually in our motor home, but due to a back/hip problem the long drive from the UK is not advisable for the time being.

Looking for 1 bedroom minimum; bath/shower; open fire/woodstove (or some form of efficient heating); TV; outside space.

Good wifi is essential as we need it for work.

The one no no is a lot of external steps to reach the accommodation.

We would also be more than happy to house-sit & if there is a wee cat or two that needed looking after that would be pretty perfect! Cat(s) & your home would be extremely well looked after.

We are well versed in house care, maintenance & gardening, we run our own self catering holiday accommodation in the UK.

Fingers crossed and ready to escape the UK winter!

After the popularity of last years trip, El Valle Associacion have organised a repeat trip to Fuengirola,

(Oh no we haven´t, Oh yes we have)  on the 5th of January to see Robin Hood & Babes in the Wood at

Salon Varieties and including time to watch the fantastic 3 Kings Parade as well.

We leave from Puente don Manuel at 12.30 & depart from Fuengirola at 21.30. It is a matinee performance at 15.00 so you have time to eat either before or after the panto.

What’s on at El Pilon Competa ? Charity Coffee & Cake morning for the children of Competa via Caritas Competa

Wednesday 7th December 11am – 3pm  we will be holding a coffee and cake morning at the Pilon restaurant in Competa – proceeds to Caritas Competa for the children of Competa.

Tickets €5 per person for  which you will receive coffee and  cake.

Cake sale at the end of the event should there be any left!
