Arenas Needs a Home
This is Arenas who was found as an abandoned puppy near Alhama de Granada where I am staying in a the holiday home of a Spanish friend. He found her here as a puppy, and took her to Seville where she lived in a smallish back yard for about a year, being taken for walks twice a day. When I moved here a year and a half ago I agreed to have her living here, but I am now moving on and can’t take her with me. She has grown a bit and cannot go back to the back yard of an urban house in Seville – she is used to the open country round here.
Arenas a female, is now 2 years 3 months old. She is passported with all her vaccinations and has been sterilised. Temperamentally she is a friendly non aggressive and affectionate dog, very social with adults and good around children and other dogs – she would equally be at home with a family or in a quieter domestic environment. Her ideal location would be in open country.

The Find Beau a home appeal….
Steven Recently encountered an Alsatian called Beau via Axaquria Animal Rescue.
A beautiful dog whose background was shall we say unfortunate.
His start as a puppy is sketchy, but his formative years became very unhappy. He is known to have been previously owned by a couple, not Spanish, that had to leave the country, and abandoned Beau, leaving him to survive on his own.
If this wasn’t enough, during this time, someone, unknown, put him through the torture of burning his ears with cigarettes.
I can hear your sharp intake of breath and cries of dismay.
He has also not yet found a permanent home, being fostered on a regular basis, which has not helped his mental security.
Steven was advised that Beau was suffering from some sort of separation anxiety.
Steven is always suspicious of labels, as many rituals can develop around the label, making it twice as worse.
What Steven very quickly discovered was that Beau was actual suffering from the trauma of abandonment and its consequences.
Beau, when left on his own in a house, can be very destructive and when left outside can go to extreme lengths to escape his enclosure.
Steven has worked with Beau and has discovered a very intelligent dog that can, will and has responded to treatment and has proved that he can be left alone while you go out, both inside and out.
First Beau needs a permanent home and for Beau’s sake Steven is extremely keen to continue working with him.
Always remember, if you take on a rescued animal, the likelihood is that some will have suffered some sort of trauma, and the recovery will sometimes take time, commitment and dedication.
In return you will receive eternal love, friendship and loyalty, especially from Beau.
If you feel you could re-home Beau, sympathy is not enough, it is just the start.

What’s on –Afternoon Tea and Farm Walk Through Flowering Almonds on Saturday 4th February
Join us for organic afternoon tea and a stroll around the farm on Sunday Saturday 4th February at Casa Montes Negros near Torre del Mar. The organic farm is nestled into the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda mountains and with 160 almond trees, February is a wonderful month to head into the countryside to enjoy the beautiful blossom.
