Holly Needs a Home 

Holly arrived at Christmas at the holiday home of some lovely people who fed her and looked after her together with their older cat. However the time soon came for them to go home so she has been in a foster home near Velez Malaga ever since.

She is about 5 – 5 ½ months old, has been neutered, vaccinated and treated against fleas and worms, is house trained and used to other animals and people.  She is very easy to love, a real character, full of fun and curiosity and able to entertain herself with a scratching post, a ping pong ball or two, an empty loo roll cardboard, a shoe box, and her squeaky toy so she is very easy to live with. She is incredibly calm, gentle and loving and just loves to sit on the settee with anyone so will make a wonderful companion.

You certainly won’t regret it. She’s a real delight.

 

 

Crutches

Thank you so much for the amazing response to my request yesterday for crutches. So many people replied with offers and information, and my husband is now scooting around the house!……. Well not exactly but is he able to get around much more comfortably.

I was very surprised to see an advert for a semi automatic air pistol.

There are laws on which guns etc are sold and a license has to be held even for children.

The sale of firearms should be forbidden on Digame whatever type they are.

Registering with Endesa

All the recent posts about Endesa reminds me of my problems registering. When I try, I get the error messages NIE or Capcha not valid, I have tried many times with the same result. I suspect that it is because I have got a “tarjeta de extranjero”, but that is not an option on the Endesa website.

There must be other Digamites with this type of NIE – and perhaps the same problems.

Does anyone have any clue as what to do?

Warning – Torrox Pueblo & Fibre Broadband…..

I must have a sign on my head that attracts these people.

Anyway, around 6 p.m. Yesterday a 30s something scruffy Spanish male called at my home in Torrox Pueblo.

He explained that fibre broadband was being installed in all of the pueblo and would be routed across the front of my and my neighbours houses.

I was immediately suspicious because – as I understand it – fibre optic broadband is installed in a central box and individual connections from subscribers run from said box to people’s property.

He then took out a form with a Jazztel? Logo and asked me for personal details. Suffice to say I declined. He wasn’t best pleased and demanded (not in a threatening way) to know what the problem was. I simply informed him that I didn’t want it and closed the door.

Had I been quicker thinking I should have tried to get a photo of him.

If I’m wrong and he was a genuine representative of this company then this is not the way to sell your product or service. Lee.

What’s on– New Opening Times at Los Amigos

Los Amigos in Centro Comercial, Torrox Park is now open every morning except Sunday from 9.30 for breakfasts.   Our new chef – Juani – will be serving English and Spanish breakfasts until 2.00 pm during which time she will be offering a Tapa del Dia together with some of her other specialities.

She will also be offering homemade pizzas, Mexican fajitas and her own burgers when our regular events such as skittles, Karaoke and the weekly quiz are on.   We are delighted to have Juani and her son, Carlos with us and if you have a special occasion to celebrate, she will be able to provide a buffet in whichever style you require.

at Hotel Arco del Sol in ColmenarOn 22^nd February, Colmenar Social Club welcome Blacktower Financial Management (Intl) Ltd for a presentation to address issues relevant to all expats in the area and everyone is welcome to attend.

Questions already raised that will be addressed include:

• How much is your personal allowance before you are taxed?
• Does the allowance increase at the age of 75 and if so by how much?
• Are there any items that can be offset against tax?
• Explanation of the taxes if your spouse dies and can any of the taxes be avoided or reduced. If so how?
• How is your estate divided if your spouse dies with a Spanish will or with an English will?
• If you sell your home what are the tax implications for both resident and non residents, does your age also have implications?
• What are the differences if you sell and are a Spanish resident and it is your main home and you intend to buy again in Spain and if you return to UK.
• If you pay your taxes in Spain are you fiscally resident and what are the differences between being fiscally resident and not being fiscally resident?
