Response to the Attack in Torrox
I have been left speechless by the Torrox mugging post. Is this the moment in time when our lovely, safe village catches up with the rest of this horrible world we live in.
I pride myself when I tell people stories of my friends or myself walking home in the wee small hours, feeling safe in the knowledge you will make it home safe & unscathed. Boy, am I going to need to rewrite the script now or what.
I know we have had out share robberies, vandalism & petty crime over the years, but what happened to this gentleman the other day is about as scary & real as it gets.
What can we do to keep our village that I thought was frozen in time, safe from the horrors of the outside world?
The simple answer to that question is, nothing!
I just hope the police get onto this incident as quickly as they can & we as a community remain vigilant & hope that this is a one off incident.
I hope the gentleman involved in this incident, makes a full recovery, both mentally & physically.

Monday 8th to Friday 12th May – AVE Train Excursion to Valencia. Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar & Fuengirola invite you to join friends on a 5 days/4 nights excursion to the beautiful city of Valencia. On the first day Monday, you will leave Malaga from the Maria Zambrano Station at 16:35 travelling on the AVE via Madrid arriving in Valencia at 21:05. There will be transport from the train station to the 4*hotel Eurostars Rey Don Jaime, where you will stay for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. This hotel is situated near one of the main attractions in Valencia, the City of Arts and Sciences, and the historic centre is within easy reach.
Tuesday and Thursday are free days for you to explore the city, You could take the tourist bus, which has 2 routes and you can hop on and off at various tourist attractions such as the Oceanographic centre, cathedral, La Lonja (Silk Exchange), Bioparc, Ceramic, Fallas and many other museums. You could make an appointment and catch a local bus and visit the one and only Lladró Factory, famous for its beautiful ornaments.
On the Wednesday, after breakfast, you will travel by coach to the Albufera Natural Park and on arrival there will be a boat trip on the lake which is the largest in Spain. This is one of the most important wetland areas in the Iberian Peninsula and rare species of wading birds and a rich variety of wildlife can be seen. Also included is a traditional Valencia paella lunch in a local restaurant.
On Friday there will be more free time in Valencia until you leave the hotel at 16:00 for the return journey to Malaga on the AVE, arriving back at 21:51 Lux Mundi suggest that you can research the relevant web sites and tourist office for more information .Tickets available at both of the Centres, Price per person in a double room is 403€ and per person in a single room 455€. (Deposit 140€. After the 27th of March this is non refundable). Final payment before 15th April. Included in the price are all transfers from local pickup points (in both Fuengirola and Torre del Mar) to and from Malaga station, tourist class on the AVE, transfers to and from Valencia station and the hotel, 4 nights b&b in the hotel, the excursion to Albufera and travel insurance.
