Advice & Explanation – DigmeXtra Pictures
Computer files have “extensions”, the little bit after the dot in the file name, that identify the file type. Photos and images come in a variety of extensions. For DigameXtra to publish an image it must be a .jpeg or .jpg type file. For our purposes .jpeg and .jpg are the same thing.
Converting Images to .jpeg in Windows Using Paint Program
Watch this 1 min. video. It is titled “How to Convert PNG to JPG”, but the steps work for changing any photo to .jpg/.jpeg. To open the Paint program click Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, click on Paint.

Converting on a Mac
-Open the photo in Preview.
-Click the File Menu in the in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
-Select Export from the drop-down menu that appears.
-In the box next to Format: click the down arrow and select your new file format.
-Under Export as: rename the photo then click Save.
Tip: For many file types, Mac users can change the file name extension, and the image converts automatically.

-Unless you are still running Windows XP or Vista (both obsolete) don’t worry about the recent news headlines regarding Windows hacks being released. Windows7/8/10 users who keep their Windows Updates current are not at risk.
-Windows 7 users are no longer in danger of receiving an unwanted upgrade to Windows 10. Turn auto-updates back on if you have not already done so, as announced in an earlier edition of my “Tips”. If auto-updates has been off for a while expect a large number of new updates, so be patient. After setting Windows Updates to “automatically check for and install updates”, click on Check Now For Updates and leave it running all night. Connect power cable before starting this, never update on battery power.
-You can now also remove the GWX Control Panel program for blocking Windows 10 updates if you installed it. GWX does not need to be “uninstalled” like other programs, simply delete the .exe program file and restart your computer.
-MacBook 2016 owners, your Apple warranty says that it will not cover any “damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions!) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.” Apple can use this to deny you warranty repair coverage after 3rd party repairs, resulting in Genius Bar repair charges of hundreds of euros. It’s a shame to find it on the new Macbooks, as previous Apple laptops allowed users to do some light modifications without completely voiding your warranty. Details at:

On Saturday 29th April The Phoenix Club has a trip to the Fuengirola International Day. La Feria Internacional de Los Pueblos is one of the most anticipated events of the spring on the Costa del Sol. With over 1 million visitors per year, the Fair is a great way to learn about cultures from around the world without leaving the Costa del Sol. The five day cultural festival hosts over 33 countries and will feature music, dance and foods from all over the world. Spanish regions such as: Madrid, Basque Country and Valencia will be represented this year as well.
Entrance to the event is free of charge but there is a small fee for food and drinks at the “casetas” or booths, which are allocated to each of the participating countries. Aside from international food and drink, you can buy all sorts of crafts, clothes, art and souvenirs. Each day the festival starts at 13:00and runs through the night. Be sure to show your spirit by dressing in your own national attire and have fun dancing to international music and celebrating the cultures from around the globe.

Aranjuez – a night at the 4* Hotel Palacio de Aranjuez

Unesco World Heritage–listed Segovia has always had a whiff of legend about it, not least in the myths that the city was founded by Hercules or by the son of Noah.
