Missing or Rescued ?  stray dog

I am afraid to say that I may be guilty of committing  a so called rescue!

The fella pictured below had been hanging round the restaurant where I work on Burriana beach for some days and had made himself quite at home but for obvious reasons he could not stay there.

We took him to a vet and checked for a chip which he had but

when we tried the number it was discontinued.

He seems in good health and had obviously come from a responsible home as

He is well trained and very friendly with no apparent fears of anything.

I took him home as he just would not leave and would get quite distressed when we left to go home.

It would be lovely if he could be reunited with his real family.

Malaga Airport Drop-off/Pick-up- Information Needed Please

Advice urgently needed, as I have to drop off family at the airport and collect others in a few days time.

I am told that, to collect people, I now have to park the car in a new ‘Arrivals’ car park situated between the large Taxi car park and the railway station.

To drop off I have to go to the upper level (Departures), drive past the area where we could park for a few minutes to (drop off and collect) and now then have to drive further on, to the ‘Express’ car park, where the entrance for this is opposite the old Terminal 2 building.

Is all of this correct?

Any advice and information would really help. Many thanks.

Action for Animals Coffee Morning – a great success!

Wow! Our coffee morning last week raised an amazing €828.13.

We’d like to thank El Pilon for allowing us to host the event at their lovely restaurant and to all the wonderful people who made such amazing cakes and pies for us.

There is a good shop in Velez Malaga near the Mercadona one way street

There are 2 Mercadonas  – this one is near the town hall

From this supermarket it is only about 50 meters down the road, to  where there are waste bins on the corner.

He speaks English and would like you to bring a sample of what you want

Recommendation for Solar Power System

We would like to make a recommendation for SurIntegral .
Over several years we have had  attempts paying various ” professionals ” to get a working solar power electricity system installed at our campo finca.
A bit important as we do not have connection to the mains but we needed a reliable basic system.
We finally discovered Jose Luis of SurIntegral .
He has helped us out when we totally lost electric power during the Semana Santa weekend .
He is very professional, courteous and speaks Spanish and English .

He takes the time to think and explain what is happening and installs air conditioning ,plumbing and other electrical work.
Now we have power again he is going to help us finally upgrade the existing system.

Recommendation- CP Auto Air Conditioning

We would like to recommend Chris from CP auto air conditioning who has managed to get our air-con working in our 18 year old car!

He also has done a magnificent job in polishing our headlight lenses which were yellow and now are clear and sparkling once again. See photo!

There is a Car Boot sale/market at El Pantano Restaurant car park, overlooking Lake Vinuela, on Sunday 7th May 9.30am to 1.pm. Current weather forecast for the day, looks good

Easy to find on the A356 towards Colmenar.

Drive over the bridge crossing Lake Vinuela and the car park/bar is just ahead on the right hand side. Plenty of parking.

Many even stay and choose lunch from the varied menu available.

Bar is open from 9.30am serving coffee/drinks/food.

Trip to Orgiva Tea Gardens Saturday 20th May (date change)

The Orgiva Tea Garden has evolved over the last ten years from a barren patch of land with waist high weeds into a beautiful tranquil garden split over three very different levels and covering about 5000 sq m.
The philosophy with regards to the planting has been to concentrate mainly on Mediterranean plants with help from shade-providing trees and also to take into account our animals as many have free range over the whole garden.
English Teas, refreshments, homemade sandwiches, soups and delicious cakes (ice cream in the summer) are available plus our shop sells local crafts and fresh produce. And of course there is a selection of plants for sale in the garden nursery section.
With a quiz and games for the children, the menagerie of animals as well, the garden can be enjoyed by the whole family and by all ages.

Ronda Romantica  Feria Saturday 27^th May

During the three day festivities, locals and visitors are taken on a voyage of discovery to 19^th century Spain, a time of bandits, muleteers and romantic travellers.  Hundreds of locals from Ronda and the surrounding towns and villages participate in this unique recreation of 19^th century life in this stunning part of Andalucia.

Dressed in typical clothes and garments of the time, these colourful characters take part in a historical street parade and representations of different historic events. The sound and smell of gunpowder, artisans markets and equestrian exhibitions are just some of experiences enjoyed by visitors during the celebrations.

The locals also spend hours decorating the streets and shop windows of the city with colourful and eye-catching flowers, plants and banners, transforming Ronda into the most romantic of destinations.

Another of the unquestionable stars of the event are the horses which are also dressed in stunning attire, typical of the 19^th century, and their elegant riders also wearing their traditional garments.
