Urgent – 2 Pups Need a Home
This is an urgent appeal for two young Alsatian cross pups who need a new home. They turned up in the garden of an older couple in the Torrox/Nerja campo last week.
Unfortunately, the couple are in their 70s and cannot cope with these youngsters. To compound matters their house is up for sale so the garden cannot be a long term sanctuary for these waifs.
They are both lovely, 2-3 month, old males who are a little shy but good natured. If you could take in one or both of they little guys please call
Trish at 699 507 862.
Lost Dog in Benamocarra – Please Help

This young Lab pup cross was lost in the Benomacarra area this week by a young Spanish lad called Sergio.
The pup is called Chase and Sergio can be contacted at 617 118 154.
He is really anxious to find his pup again.
Urgent – Loan of baby car seat
Does anyone have a car seat suitable for a 10k infant who is visiting now, staying 8 more days?
She’s a little 5 month-old and we need her to be safe!
I am based in Torrox, but will travel to collect.
Any well equipped grand-parents or parents between infants who would kindly care to loan (or hire) this item, please phone me on 633515210
or email clarondene @ gmail.com. Thanks again, Digameland! Alison
Missing Parasol
Sunday 16th of April there had been a music afternoon at the little plaza behind the Town hall and next to bar El Recreo in Competa, during the Art Walk. I lent out my parasol and stand, and it was there to protect the musicians against the bright sun. Unfortunately nobody took care of it after the show or brought it back to my place. And it was there for days unfolded.
Both, the people of bar Fernand and the people in the Town hall did see it, but nobody took action. Until I last week I realized I missed mine. Asked them and looked for it in the Salon de Actos and Bar Fernand, but it did not bring the solution. The parasol and its stand has gone, lost.
Maybe somebody picked it up and is so honest to bring it back to me?
Or maybe somebody knows where is has gone?
On the picture another one as an example of how it looked like. The concrete stand was of a round shape.
Please let me know if you know more about it, because it is a pity to just loose my things in this way.
If anybody has a good second hand one for sale, you can also contact me.
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Lieuwke

What’s On – Phoenix Club
Ronda Romantica Feria Saturday 27th May
During the three day festivities, locals and visitors are taken on a voyage of discovery to 19th century Spain, a time of bandits, muleteers and romantic travellers. Hundreds of locals from Ronda and the surrounding towns and villages participate in this unique recreation of 19th century life in this stunning part of Andalucia.
Dressed in typical clothes and garments of the time, these colourful characters take part in a historical street parade and representations of different historic events. The sound and smell of gunpowder, artisans markets and equestrian exhibitions are just some of experiences enjoyed by visitors during the celebrations.
The locals also spend hours decorating the streets and shop windows of the city with colourful and eye-catching flowers, plants and banners, transforming Ronda into the most romantic of destinations.
Another of the unquestionable stars of the event are the horses which are also dressed in stunning attire, typical of the 19th century, and their elegant riders also wearing their traditional garments.
Price? €20pp
Depart Algarrobo Lidl at 11.30 and return from Ronda at 22.30

Fuengirola Medieval Market 18th August
The event is unique in Spain, as it takes place within an authentic Arab fortress of the time. Sohail Castle in Fuengirola, a restored Moorish fortress and converted into a auditorium which hosts a variety of musical events during the summer months, has been for some years the perfect setting for the celebration of the Medieval Market in Fuengirola.
At this market you can find all kinds of products and activities that make the visit a time travel to the time of the bards, the craft guilds, traditional gastronomy, etc. Workshops for clay, bread, leather, toys, jewelry and woodwork will allow visitors to see how they made those products, without industrial action, in ancient times. Other attractions are archery, donkey rides, witches, fortune-tellers, stilts, storytellers, children’s games, juggling, costumes of the time and street theatre.
This market in Fuengirola Sohail Castle is considered to be one of the best in Spain because of its location.

For Sale – Composted Horse Manure
Ecological gardening with great benefits!
Composted horse manure will provide the much needed fibre mulch for the ongoing health of both the soil and the plants growing in it. Aside from the natural, slow release nutrients of the horse manure itself, the earth will benefit from the humus, which keeps the soil lighter, preserves moisture content and acts as a storehouse for nitrogen, which plants need to produce the protiens required for green stems, strong roots and lots of leaves.
Bagged in sturdy sacks holding approximately 25L.
6 euros each.
Don’t hesitate too long as supplies are limited!
Located in Algarrobo (pueblo) – arrangements to be made in advance for pick up.
Delivery between Nerja/Competa/Torre Del Mar/Lac Vinuela – an additional 5 euros to cover fuel expense.

Ransomware Update – The Threat Continues, by DoctorLaptop
Despite what you may have heard about a solution found to stop the recent ransomware attacks the threat is not gone. Be sure you have protected your computers. A new wave of attacks has begun and we should expect several more waves of attacks in coming months. The new attacks don’t only encrypt your data like classic ransomware. Instead some hijack your system and run hacker programs hidden in the background while your computer is on. This is known in tech jargon as turning your computer into a “bot”. As a result your computer gets slow and all your data and info are exposed. Hackers use armies of bots to accomplish hacking schemes that require massive numbers of computers focused on a task, such as doing “denial of service attacks” and “mining” crypto-currency. To prevent bot activity on your computer be sure “heuristic analysis” is enabled in your anti-virus program settings. Heuristic analysis is a method employed by many computer antivirus programs designed to detect previously unknown computer viruses, as well as new variants of viruses already in the “wild”. Read this article regarding the current threats for an explanation in easy to understand terms.
