TAIL Christmas Party Appeal   Last year a few kind hearted people helped us out by donating gifts for our Christmas fundraiser. We were able to offer a selection of worthwhile services and items as prizes in our raffle and lucky number draw.   Coming up on the 8th of December we have this year’s party and we are again hoping for support.   We try to offer a varied selection, an example of which would be a meal voucher from a restaurant, a day’s work from a gardener or handyman or anything you feel would be of interest.   If you can help in any way please email me.  andymann_genesis@yahoo.co.uk  Many thanks from all those at TAIL, both two and four legged.

 

Abandoned Dog – Torrox Campo  

May this hopefully be the last post for this poor soul. This brown and white whippet type dog may not be unknown, but I know that the Spanish farmer in Manzano Alto does not want it. He has offered to gift it to another dog walker in the area. Neighbours have fed it and shown it some love and care. He/she has been wondering the campo for around three months now and is just looking for a home. The dog needs someone to take it on once and for all. Disappointing Transaction – Lesson Learned    I communicated with a ‘gentleman’ in Vélez about an adjustable hospital-type table – the sort which goes over a hospital bed. We arranged to meet at a given time at the bus station there – I don’t live near there – and I gave him my phone number. I also asked for his phone number in case there were any problems, as I’d be meeting him direct from a hospital appointment and didn’t want to leave him hanging around.  I never received the man’s phone number and he never turned up for our appointment. This is therefore a word of advice: if you’re buying from anyone and not meeting at either house, make sure you exchange numbers before you set off. It will save you time, money, effort and frustration. Not everyone is as gullible and naïve as I turned out to be!   Michael.

 

Calling all Charity Shops   Is there a charity shop in Torrox/Nerja who is short of toys? I have a large box full of them but am not sure which organisation to donate them to. I am sure some places will have more toys than they can cope with, so decided the best thing was to ask who wants them. They are all working when appropriate, clean and in good condition.
