One For The Kids- Rock Cirk: Christmas and the New Year are the times for circus but the Teatro Cervantes in Malaga City has a very special one aimed at younger audiences entitled Rock Cirk.
This show which is presented by just five musicians and acrobats combines rock music with agility, acrobatics and fun so for just under an hour, audiences can enjoy a really exciting show which combines expertise from two quite different areas.
It’s presented by the Malaga based Rolabola Theatre Group which won the National Circus Award 2017 and has created a number of original shows over its lifetime.
The show starts at 6pm on January 4 and tickets cost just €9 from the theatre box office, so for a fun day out just before the Three Kings arrive, Rock Cirk may a great option.

9.30 am – Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Carmen (The Fishermen’s Chapel). This small chapel is situated towards the western end of the beach and set back near the Chinasol Hotel and seafront. There is a Eucharist every Sunday from November through to March, and there is a Eucharist service on every alternative Sunday (1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in April, May, September and October). There are no services during the hot summer months of June, July and August.
Nerja
12.00 noon – Iglesia de San Miguel, Plaza Andalucía. There is a Eucharist service at this time throughout the year. The church is within easy walking distance of the first large roundabout as you drive into town from the Malaga direction, by the bus station.

The Christmas Traditions Festival, this weekend: This will be the first in a series of festive activities scheduled to take place in Benalmádena in the lead-up to Christmas. Organised by the foreign residents’ department and various local expat associations, the festival will be held in Plaza Mezquita in Arroyo de la Miel between Friday 13 and Sunday 15 December.
This popular festival presents unique Christmas experiences, typical products, shows and gastronomy from 15 countries, including Germany, France, Argentina, Ukraine, Mexico, USA, Italy and the UK. Visitors will be invited to sample a variety of traditional festive food and drinks, from the customary mulled wine and mince pies to more exotic cuisine, like Allahabadi cake, traditionally eaten by Indian Christians during Yuletide.
The festive gathering will offer plenty of activities to keep children occupied and these will include a bouncy castle, face painting and festive games and competitions; while Father Christmas, the Slavic Santa Ded Moroz, and the Three Kings will make appearances throughout the day.
The festival, which is free, begins at 1pm each day.

Does Torre del Mar Need A Pier?: Plans to construct a pier off Torre del Mar beach have reemerged, two years after the project was first announced. According to the current design, the pier will be 65.5 metres long and five metres wide with a 10-metre wide lookout point at the end. The Junta de Andalucía is currently evaluating the viability of the current design.

New Flight Option: Gibraltar will now be connected directly with Scotland as easyJet has announced a new twice a week route to Edinburgh. This will become the fifth route easyJet now operates from Gibraltar, joining existing services to London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester and Bristol.
The new service is expected to carry over 27,500 customers in its first year, with flights set to launch on March 31 2020.
Seats are now on sale with fares available from just £15.99.

Murder mystery event: Colmenar Social club are having a Christmas Murder Mystery evening on Thursday 12th December at the Hotel Arco del Sol on the A356 Km 9 Colmenar. On arrival at 7pm there will be Buck’s Fizz and nibbles in the bar area and at 7.30pm we will enter the dining room for a three course traditional Christmas meal cooked by chef Brian with help from Kathy and Pauline. There will be wine and water on each table. During the meal the murder mystery will unfold, can you solve who dunnit? There will be a prize for the table that identifies the murderer ( in the event of a tie there will be a tie breaker question). We are also having a special Christmas raffle and dancing after the coffee and mince pies.
All this for just 15 Euros each.
This event is open to everyone, you do not need to be a member. We are now taking bookings so if you would like too join us for this fun event please phone Marjorie on 951 20 45 31 before 6th December.
