The price of olive oil falls to the supermarket up to 10% in February: {Translation, summary}
– Potatoes, oranges and garlic are the three foods that were affected by the VAT rebate that have risen the most in price in large supermarkets in February. Axarquía Regional Hospital eliminates fees for the use of television: {Translation, summary}
– The Axarquia Regional Hospital will offer free television from Tuesday, March 4, a measure long requested by patients and their families.

Amber alert issued for more heavy rain in Malaga province on Monday:
– The rain has not left Malaga province for the moment. The weather instability that has been with us since Andalucía Day, when the amber warning was activated and which left dozens of incidents in the province with more than 70mm in several municipalities and hailstorms in the Serrania de Ronda, continues. After Sunday’s yellow warning, the alert will continue on Monday 3 March, when the Spain’s state meteorological agency (Aemet) will once again activate the amber warning for heavy rain.
– Specifically, Aemet has activated the alert for the western Costa del Sol, Malaga city and Guadalhorce valley areas from midnight this Sunday until 2pm on Monday. Accumulated rainfall of 25mm in one hour and 80 mm in 12 hours is expected, especially in the western part of the area. Another Warhawk- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposes “urgently re-arming Europe”: {Translation, summary}

How Diplomatic! – Videos show Zelensky cursing at US VP Vance in Oval Office meeting and other disrespect from both sides: {Translation}
– Many of the political correspondents in Washington claimed not to remember anything like the scene that took place on Friday in the Oval Office at the meeting between Volodimir Zelensky and Donald Trump and JD Vance. The tense meeting of the Ukrainian president with his American counterpart and his second-in-command has left much talked-about scenes and one of them is one captured on multiple videos, in which Zelensky allegedly mutters a strong swear word.
– It occurred when the Ukrainian president asked Vance if he had been to Ukraine. When Vance replied that he had “seen stories” and continued speaking, Zelensky is seen saying “suka, blyat” (су́ка блядь).
– This phrase, very common in Russia and Ukraine, has a complex translation, although it is often used as an expression of annoyance. ‘Suka’ means ‘bitch’ and ‘blyat’ is somewhat more complicated: it can be ‘sh*t’, ‘f*ck’ or similar expressions. Trump’s national security adviser says Zelensky ‘welcome back’ to WH — under this condition:
– Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is welcome back at the White House “any time” — if he demonstrates that he’s “ready to truly engage for peace,” National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said Sunday. Waltz, 51, appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” to rebuke Zelensky, 47, for unloading on Russia’s history of aggression during the now-infamous shouting match that erupted between President Trump and the Ukrainian leader in front of the cameras in the Oval Office on Friday. “What was so, I think, stunning to all of us in the Oval Office was that it was not clear Zelensky was going to go to negotiations at all, that he would ever be able to negotiate with Putin,” Waltz said.

Forensic expert shares theory surrounding the ‘unusual’ circumstances of actor Gene Hackman & wife’s deaths:
– Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s deaths, as well as that of their dog, could be the result of a tragic accident, according to forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden.
– A criminal investigation into the deaths of Hackman and Arakawa was launched Wednesday after New Mexico authorities found the 95-year-old actor, the 65-year-old classical pianist and one of their dogs dead in their Santa Fe home under circumstances deemed “suspicious.”
– Santa Fe Sheriff Department officials have said that there were no obvious signs of foul play and no external trauma was seen on either Hackman or Arakawa. After preliminary autopsies were completed, Santa Fe Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed that the couple tested negative for carbon monoxide and Oscar-winning actor likely died about nine days before the bodies were discovered. Baden shared his theory that Arakawa’s death may have occurred after Hackman’s pacemaker stopped while she was trying to help her husband.
– According to the affidavit, the deceased dog, a German Shepherd, was found “10-15 feet” away from Arakawa in a closet of the bathroom. Two other living dogs were discovered on the property. How can you justify raising rates when you are making record profits? Spanish energy giant Iberdrola breaks its record with a net profit of 5.6 billion euros in 2024:
– It is starting to become somewhat rhetorical and reiterative that Iberdrola achieves a new profit record in each quarterly results presentation. The company chaired by Ignacio Galán has done it again. At the end of 2024 it had obtained a net profit of 5.61 billion euros, which is 17 per cent more than the previous year, in addition to having dedicated just over 1.1 billion to cleaning up some items on its balance sheet. Blind Canadian man has his own tooth surgically implanted in his eye to restore his sight:
– A blind Canadian man could soon see again thanks to a surprising source: his teeth. Yes, you read that right. Earlier this week, Brent Chapman underwent one of Canada’s first-ever “tooth in eye” surgeries. While it might sound like something straight out of science fiction, this jaw-dropping procedure has been restoring sight in other parts of the world for decades.
– “It is a rare operation that most people have not heard of, even if you are an eye surgeon,” Dr. Greg Moloney, an ophthalmologist and surgeon at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital in Vancouver, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
– The procedure, called osteo-odonto keratoprosthesis (OOKP), uses a patient’s own tooth to craft a support structure for an artificial cornea. The operation is broken down into two parts. First, Moloney and his team removed one of Chapman’s teeth, shaved it down into a rectangle, drilled a hole and popped a plastic optical lens inside. The tooth then got a temporary home in his cheek, where it will stay for about three months. During the same procedure, Moloney prepared the eye by removing the top layer of the eye’s surface and replacing it with a soft tissue graft from inside Chapman’s cheek. Live Sports Streams Suffer Major Outages- U.S. Government Seizes Dozens of Pirate Sports Streaming Hosts, Blocks Viewers Worldwide (most were back online within 48hrs):
– A sustained campaign by U.S. authorities has led to the seizure of a growing number of pirate sports streaming domains. Earlier this month, U.S. authorities quietly initiated a new round of domain name seizures, targeting dozens of pirate sports streaming sites.
– The timing of the law enforcement actions coincided with the Super Bowl, presumably to establish maximum impact. Additional domain seizures were carried out in the days after, and then continued this week.
– These actions did not focus on a specific pirate streaming site but targeted popular pirate brands instead. Those targeted included [Acestream], [Buffstream], [Crackedstreams], [Methstreams], [StreamEast], and [Totalsportek]. In total, more than 200 domain names were taken down. To our knowledge, the authorities are yet to issue a public statement on this enforcement action. There has been no mention from rightsholders either, so it’s unclear whether domain registrars, domain registries, or both were asked to cooperate. David Johansen, influential singer for proto-punk glam-rockers The New York Dolls, and later as lounge lizard band leader Buster Poindexter, dead at 75:
– David Johansen, the former lead singer for the New York Dolls, whose unvarnished sound and flamboyant style helped inspire punk and glam rock in the 1970s, has died of brain cancer at age 75, his wife Mara Hennessey said on Saturday.
– A native of New York City, Johansen formed the Dolls in 1971 with bassist Arthur Kane, drummer Billy Murcia and guitarists Johnny Thunders and Rick Rivets (who was replaced by Sylvain Sylvain in 1972). Johansen was the last survivor from the band’s classic lineup.
– In its early years, the band released two albums, “New York Dolls” (1973), produced by Todd Rundgren, and “Too Much Too Soon” (1974), with Johansen and Thunders writing most of the material. Critics say the band anticipated the emergence of punk, inspiring bands such as the Ramones, the Damned and the Sex Pistols, while fueling the genres of glam rock and heavy metal.
– After the demise of the Dolls, Johansen performed an eclectic mix of jump blues, swing and other genres under the moniker Buster Poindexter, appearing frequently on “Saturday Night Live.”
Later, he focused on the blues with his band the Harry Smiths, and acted in television and films, notably appearing with Bill Murray in “Scrooged” (1988) as the Ghost of Christmas Past.
