The Regional Government extends the Vehicle Renewal Plan to all citizens and companies and increases the amount by one thousand euros: {Trans, summary}
– Andalusia has officially expanded its Vehicle Renewal Plan, making it more accessible to potential applicants. The scheme now offers grants of up to €4,000, an increase of €1,000, and applications are open to private citizens and all companies, not only self-employed workers. Eligible purchases cover new ‘non-plug-in-to-charge’ vehicles (petrol, diesel and Non-plug-in hybrids “HEVs”) costing no more than €35,000 before VAT, bought directly or through financial leasing or rental. Dealers must be physically located in Andalusia.
– The new cars must emit no more than 120 g CO2/km, while qualifying vans up to 3,500 kg can emit up to 159 g/km. Applicants must scrap a Spanish-registered vehicle at least 10 years old, with a valid MOT at de-registration, but it need not belong to the applicant. The €5 million scheme operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications opened on 15 April and close on 15 November. Purchases eligible for support date from 1 January 2026, with €5 million in regional public funding available.
– {At first glance this appears contradictory, pushing a Green agenda by encouraging the purchases of new petrol/diesel vehicles. The important distinction is that “non-plug-in” does not mean “zero-emission” or “low-emission”. The Andalusian scheme described is explicitly subsidising new petrol/diesel vehicles and conventional hybrids not to “replace petrol cars with electric cars”. It is to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency by replacing older vehicles with newer, more efficient ones. EVs have their own purchase subsidy program, MOVES III. Plastic surgeon shot dead at his aesthetic clinic in Marbella: {Trans, summary}
