97.6 Coast FM Gold presents for ‘One Night Only’: A tribute to a man who influenced a generation including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ told through his music including Peggy Sue, Rave On, Heartbeat and of course That’ll Be The Day! Saturday Morning – Dog Agility Training Group: We are a long established Dog Agility Training Group who meet every Saturday morning at 10.30am, to train and practice with our dogs, close to Puente Don Manuel. (Near Arkwrights English Shop)

It is a small and friendly group who love to be involved with Canine Agility. Sessions commence at 10.30am until approx.12pm, after which we usually socialise our dogs in a café / bar in Peunte Don Manuel over a coffee etc.
Attendance is strictly by pre- arrangement (to control numbers), so if you are interested in participating, please drop us an email with your name, dogs name, type of dog and a telephone number and we will get back to you to discuss your requirements and make the appropriate arrangements.
Each session is 10€ per dog and lasts approx. 2 and a half hours or so.
Join in with us for some good old ‘Fun in the Sun’ with your best friend, we’d love to see you both.
NB. All dogs must be adult dogs, puppies and very young dogs cannot participate until they are adult.

Royal British Legion events:
-The Royal British Legion Poppy Ball is to be held at the Caves restaurant in Nerja, on Friday 9th November. It is a great chance to dust off the DJ’s and long dresses (you choose which you want to wear) and have a first class meal, followed by a dance. At that time, the church bells rang out for the first time since the war started, so to mark the occasion you are invited to bring a bell (large or small) to ring during the service.

I need recommendations for an eye specialist and surgeon privately: I recently had surgery and am very unhappy with the result and need a second opinion on the condition of my sight. I live in Torrox campo but am happy to travel, I have seen one private specialist but as it was right in the centre of Malaga it was very difficult for parking etc and as I am unable to drive at the moment someone closer would be better. Royal British Legion Poppy Walk: Many thanks to all who took part in our Annual Poppy Walk and to everyone who sponsored the people who walked . The Nerja Players: AN INSPECTOR CALLS

An Inspector Calls is a play written by English dramatist J. B. Priestley, first performed in September 1945 in the Soviet Union and in 1946 in the UK. It is one of Priestley’s best known works for the stage, and is considered to be one of the classics of mid-20th century English theatre. The play takes place on a single night in April 1912, focusing on the prosperous upper middle-class Birling family, who live in a comfortable home in the fictional town of Brumley, “an industrial city in the north Midlands”. The family is visited by a man calling himself Inspector Goole, who questions the family about the suicide of a young working-class woman, Eva Smith (also known as Daisy Renton). Long considered part of the repertory of classic “drawing room” theatre, the play has also been hailed as a scathing criticism of the hypocrisies of Victorian and Edwardian English society.
Doors open at 18.45 hours and the programme will start at 19:00 hours. We use the premises of the Nerja Bridge Club – entrance is through the blue doors at the top of Calle Castilla Perez 1, Nerja. Taxi from Malaga airport: Thanks for the reminder regarding getting a taxi from Malaga airport. I cant emphasize this enough; always confirm the taxi fare before commencing the journey and don’t think you can negotiate all the taxi firm’s little extras afterwards. We made this mistake a while ago and it was such an awkward situation. After the taxi journey was over, the fare was ‘totalled up’ and I didn’t know exactly how would be best to handle it.
The language barrier made it worse, so I was quite embarrassed but at the same time frustrated that I hadn’t agreed the exact cost. There’s all manner of little journey extras that seemed to go on the bill.. like minimum taxi fare rates, rate changes after certain hours and waiting charges! We now use https://www.malagaairporttaxi.net/ mainly because of the TripAdvisor reviews ( https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g187438-d9461526-Reviews-MalagaAirportTaxi-Malaga_Costa_del_Sol_Province_of_Malaga_Andalucia.html and secondly our experience) Don’t be fooled in to thinking that you have to pay up front as we didn’t pay until after the driver dropped us off at the accommodation. However the difference is there’s no added taxi fare. What you agree is what you pay.

Caminito del Rey Trip: Viajes Alcodalla is organizing a day trip to the Caminito del Rey on Saturday 1st of December. The Caminito del Rey walk is spectacular all along the path: from the Count of Guadalhorce Reservoir to its end at El Chorro Dam. Placed in unique natural surroundings, the path stretches between two gorges, canyons and a large valley, along pathways or boardwalks. The route is linear, not circular and it goes downwards from the north to the south. Its beginning is in the area of Ardales and the ends in the train station of Álora. This route is almost 8 km long and takes from three to four hours to complete. Once we are done with the visit, we will continue the journey on the Count of Guadalhorce Dam, where we will enjoy some free time to have lunch and rest a bit. It’s impresive view makes the Caminito del Rey a must on your stay in Málaga province. Air Conditioning: I’d like to sing the praises of Mark Rawlins at Esola Air Conditioning. Just over two years after fitting my aircon it developed a problem. Despite being a few months out of warranty, Mark and team arrived promptly, tested the faulty unit over several days and repaired it free of charge! They also replaced the brackets for free on a following visit as they had gone rusty prematurely. Top service and top people. I can’t recommend them highly enough. click on “cita en centro sanitarios”
click on “Datos personales”
enter your medical card number AN——– type in your DOB (ignore the pull down screen)
click “Acceder” type in the I/D no. you have always used ie NIE
then on TIPO scroll down to Tarjeta de Extranjero click on Acceder and up comes appt times and dates.

#2 & 3. The very easy way is to download the app “SaludResponde” to your phone
You put in your details once and then just go into the app and make an appointment each time. VERY simple.
You can add multiple people as well
You can make appointments for the nurse OR the doctor and others too

#4. Hi, I think I can help. Do you have a smartphone or tablet? Look for an app called “Salud Responde”. In this app you need to enter your card details and can even put a pic of yourself. You can add your family members too. In this app you can make appointments with your doctor or nurse. See a calendar with dates available and you choose the date best for you, then a list of times comes up to choose from. After you confirm the appointment you want there is a button to add it to your calendar.
There is also other information available in the app and you may schedule blood draws at the hospitals, but you need the code from your doctor to enter the blood draw area.  Good luck!! Debi, Puerto de la Torre, debi dob do @ yahoo . com

#5. Hi I am not making an appointment today however I have just looked at the new website and it looks very similar to before, so here goes
1. Click on this link (Link gave me an “insecure connection” error message. -Ed.)

2. Then click on the purple writing “clic salud+”
That then take you to the medical options page. If it is an appointment with a doctor you require click on the right hand side of the page where it ‘s headed “salud” with the heart sign. The first option is the the one you want “datos basicos de salud” that then opens another page with the words “datos personales” on the bottom left hand side.
3. The next page shows “Datos de Administrative” and “Datos de Contacto”
4. Click on “Datos de Administrative” and a sub heading opens where the bottom line reads “Datos Personales” click on this.
5. this is a link to the page where you enter your personal identification number for the centro de salud. There is a small down arrow at one point where you can choose NIE or Passport number.
