Big Time Rugby Comes To Malaga– Spain vs Fiji:
The match is between the Spanish rugby team and Fiji at the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium, an event that will make the province on November 22, from 5 p.m., the epicentre of international rugby and that reinforces the strategy of promoting the destination as a benchmark in the sports segment.
The expectation for the duel between Los Leones and Fiji is high, not only because of the relevance of the opponent (currently among the ten best teams in the world), but also because of the added attraction provided by their emblematic opening ritual, the “Cibi”, a symbol of the character and tradition of this sport.

King Felipe VI Confuses Democracy With Socialism In Address To His Globalist Cronies: {DigameXtra Exclusive}
– King Felipe VI delivered a speech on 9 October, 2025, at the Open Government Summit in Vitoria in which he presented himself as a defender of democracy, yet his message revealed a troubling shift: he equated democracy with collectivist governance and supranational control, concepts closer to modern socialist ideology than to classical liberal democracy.
– Throughout his speech he insisted on the need for what he called “collective commitment and proactive defence of democratic systems”, but he repeatedly framed democracy as something dependent on managed citizen participation, institutional trust and coordinated government action. Instead of emphasising individual liberty, private initiative and limited government, he promoted the doctrine of open government– a political programme that encourages state intervention, that promises bureaucratic transparency, and with multilateral governance that weakens national sovereignty.
– Felipe VI also linked criticism of government to the rise of populism, treating popular discontent as a threat rather than a legitimate democratic expression. He warned against polarisation but did not acknowledge that excessive centralisation and technocratic control cause that same frustration. By asserting that democracy must be constantly perfected through organised social collaboration, he substituted voluntary civic responsibility with collectivist obligation. In doing so, the King confused democracy with managed social engineering. Ref, Spanish: https://www.malagahoy.es/espana/rey-apela-compromiso-colectivo-defender_0_2004978259.html

The Madrid Court corrects Judge Peinado and refuses to divide the ‘Begoña Gómez case’ but endorses investigating embezzlement: {Translation, summary}
– The Provincial Court of Madrid has partially overturned Judge Juan Carlos Peinado’s decision to open a separate case investigating Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s wife, Begoña Gómez {pic}, for alleged embezzlement linked to her adviser Cristina Álvarez, but has allowed the investigation to continue within the main case. The court deemed Peinado’s move “premature and unjustified,” noting that the offences of alleged embezzlement and influence peddling are closely linked and should be handled together. It criticised the judge for failing to specify which facts or individuals were being separated, and for not analysing the evidence or legal feasibility of the charges.
– The court also supported summoning Minister Félix Bolaños as a witness, given his prior role as Álvarez’s immediate superior, while emphasising that the investigation focuses on potential overreach in Álvarez’s duties rather than the legality of her appointment. Separately, the extension of the investigation by six months was upheld, and the court instructed Peinado to promptly consider further witness requests from Gómez’s defence. The Game Is Rigged! Another SNAFU! The prosecutor chosen for Attorney General García Ortiz’s trial has already exposed his bias when he was the prosecutor that asked for the acquittal of Sánchez’s brother: {Translation, summary}
– The designation of Francisco Javier Montero, Chief Prosecutor of Extremadura, to act in the trial against Spain’s Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz {pic}, has stirred controversy within the Prosecutor’s Office. The Supreme Court trial, beginning on 3 November, concerns the alleged leak of private data of Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s partner.
– APIF, acting as a popular accuser, formally complained that Montero’s appointment violated the Organic Statute of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and lacked transparency, noting that the Prosecutorial Council was not consulted. Montero’s prior involvement in high-profile cases adds to the dispute. His office previously sought acquittals in the trial of Pedro Sánchez’s brother and did not challenge expedited parliamentary immunity for Socialist leader Miguel Ángel Gallardo. He also participated in a 2024 complaint by Ayuso’s partner against Madrid prosecutors over a secret leak, siding with the official line against investigation. APIF questions why a Supreme Court Criminal Chamber prosecutor was not appointed instead, highlighting concerns over impartiality and procedural propriety. The Globalists Are Coming For Your Coffin Nails: {Translation, summary}
– The World Health Organization (WHO) intends to approve at the upcoming COP11 – to be held in Geneva from 17 to 22 November – a set of measures that would deal an unprecedented blow to the entire tobacco value chain in Spain and across Europe. COP11 is the 11th session of the Conference of the Parties under the World Health Organization’s framework on tobacco control.
– The European Union is reportedly ready to accept the proposals without debate or consultation. Measures include reducing tobacconists and vending machines, banning tobacco sales, removing cultivation subsidies, and prohibiting filters and additives.
– Spain faces major consequences, as tobacco provides 53,000 jobs, €9 billion in annual taxes, and supports 20,000 farming families in Extremadura and export activity in the Canary Islands. Cutting subsidies could lead to abandoned farms, rural depopulation, and increased illicit trade, which already reaches 37 per cent of consumption in France. The Catalan Tobacconists’ Guild warns that tobacconists are an essential local service, providing services such as bill payment, mobile top-ups, package delivery collections and cash withdrawal in municipalities without banks. Key organisations, including the Catalan Tobacconists’ Guild, UPA and AEPR, warn that the proposals threaten employment, local services and small businesses. The measures are described as extreme, prohibitionist and counterproductive, potentially eliminating 2.1 million European jobs and €223 billion in GDP, while strengthening the illegal tobacco market. Andalucía to Receive 21 Major Electricity Network Upgrades to Support Future Demand and Renewables: {Translation, summary}
– Andalucía will see 21 planned interventions in the national electricity transmission network over the next five years, according to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition’s public consultation on its 2025–2030 plan. These include the construction of three new substation facilities, the expansion of 23 existing substations, and the adaptation of two electrical parks to support future demand across the region. Key areas targeted are Guadaria in Sevilla, Benahadux in Almería, and Benahavís in Málaga, along with the ports of Huelva and Algeciras.
– The upgrades aim not only to meet residential, industrial, and commercial electricity needs but also to facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the grid, particularly in the Baza area. The plan also supports broader infrastructure objectives, such as the electrification of ports and railway lines, ensuring that new demand from transport, industry, and renewable energy projects can be reliably met across Andalucía. These measures position the region as a significant beneficiary of Spain’s wider efforts to expand and modernise its electricity transmission network. EUROPE
EU’s von der Leyen survives close no-confidence votes in parliament:
– European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen survived two bids to remove her when the European Parliament rejected no-confidence motions from hard-right and left groups on Thursday. EU lawmakers rejected the two motions of censure with 378 members of the 720-strong parliament expressing support for von der Leyen in the first vote and 383 in the second.
– Both censure motions criticised von der Leyen for accepting an unbalanced tariff deal with the United States and proposing a trade agreement with South American bloc Mercosur, which critics say threatens farmers and the environment. The U.S. and Mercosur deals will be put to votes in the European Parliament in the coming months, with the outcomes unclear.

MIDDLE EAST
Israel and Hamas sign Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal:
– Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas signed an agreement on Thursday to cease fire and free Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, in the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s initiative to end the two-year war in Gaza that has upended the Middle East.
– Israelis and Palestinians alike rejoiced after the deal was announced, the biggest step yet to end two years of war in which over 67,000 Palestinians have been killed, and return the last hostages seized by Hamas in the deadly attacks that started it. Officials on both sides confirmed they had signed the deal following indirect talks in the Egyptian beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
– Under the deal, fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will free all remaining hostages it captured in the attack that precipitated the war, in exchange for hundreds of prisoners held by Israel. At the White House, Trump said he believed it would lead to “lasting peace.” Fleets of trucks carrying food and medical aid would be allowed to surge into Gaza to relieve civilians, hundreds of thousands of whom have been sheltering in tents. Hidden within the narrow streets of the historic centre, this “magical” restaurant combines traditional Andalusian cuisine with authentic Argentine flavours in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. The price of cocoa plummets– when will chocolate go down?: {Translation, summary}
– Cocoa prices have fallen to their lowest level in nearly two years, around €5,160 per tonne on international markets, compared with over €10,300 in April 2024, according to the International Cocoa Organisation. The decline is explained by higher supply and weaker demand. Optimistic harvest forecasts in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, which produce over 60 per cent of the world’s cocoa, and increased prices paid to farmers, have boosted official sales.
– Meanwhile, chocolate consumption in Europe, Asia and North America has decreased following two years of record prices. Investor divestment, anticipating further price drops, also contributes to the trend. The European Commission’s delay in enforcing regulations to prevent imports from deforested areas has reduced the need for early purchases.
– In Spain, a kilo of chocolate costs around €40, 13 per cent higher than in January, and nearly 19 per cent higher than a year ago. Market volatility means retail prices may take time to reflect the cocoa price drop. HEALTH
The health unions of Andalusia believe that the resignation of the minister “does not solve the mismanagement”: {Translation, summary}
– Major trade unions in Andalucía have reacted to the resignation of regional Health Minister Rocío Hernández by declaring that her departure does not solve the profound crisis affecting the Andalusian public health system. CCOO criticised what it called years of dismantling public healthcare under President Juanma Moreno, warning that understaffing and neglect are costing lives. UGT described the resignation as an opportunity for a genuine change in policy but rejected the decision to hand over the department temporarily to the Minister of the Presidency, arguing that a qualified and committed figure must take charge with clear support for public health.
– CSIF recalled that it had already demanded Hernández’s resignation due to her lack of dialogue and poor management of breast cancer screening notifications. The Andalusian Medical Union warned that the real problem is the critical shortage of doctors in all specialties. SATSE accused the government of presiding over unprecedented decline, closures and growing waiting lists while ignoring professionals. The Decay Of Andalucian Public Healthcare- A report places the increase in Andalusian health privatisation at 32% after five years: {Translation, summary}
– A report by the Federation of Associations for the Defence of Public Healthcare (Fadsp) reveals that Andalucía has experienced one of the largest increases in health privatisation in Spain over the past decade, rising 32.4 per cent since 2014 and more than 32 per cent since 2019. Only Extremadura and the Canary Islands show similar increases. Andalucía’s level of private sector involvement is now 23 points on the Fadsp privatisation index, above the national average of 21.3 points. {The Fadsp Index uses a scale of 0 to 34 points, with 34 meaning full privatisation across the measured variables: private insurance uptake, hospital beds, private consultations, contracts with private centres, etc.}
– The study evaluates private insurance uptake, private hospital beds, spending on private healthcare and contracts with private centres. Although Madrid, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands remain historically the most privatised regions, Andalucía’s level of private sector involvement is now above the national average. The report warns that this growing reliance on private healthcare risks weakening the public system by diverting resources and creating a two tier system that prioritises profit over universal access. It also notes that 30.9 per cent of Andalusians consulted private general practitioners in the past year. Moreno announces more dismissals, an audit of all cancer screenings and the reinforcement of oncology units: {Translation, summary}
– During Thursday’s Andalusian Parliament session on the breast cancer screening crisis, President Juanma Moreno {pic} announced multiple dismissals following the resignation of Health Minister Rocío Hernández. He clarified that many of the officials involved were civil servants with specific responsibilities who “failed in the transmission of information.”
– Dismissals will target staff directly responsible for managing patient notifications and the communication of screening results. Additional organisational reforms are planned within this hospital to prevent future failures. Civil servants responsible for overseeing early detection programmes and coordinating internal communications will face personnel changes to improve accountability.
– Moreno stressed that Andalucía is taking responsibility, contrasting it with other regions of Spain where resignations are rare. The dismissals form part of a broader reform strategy, including audits of all early cancer detection programmes, creation of a professional monitoring commission, reinforcement of oncology units, the hiring of 119 healthcare professionals, extended testing hours, and investment in new diagnostic facilities and artificial intelligence applications. All pending screening tests are scheduled to be completed by 30 November. Minister Antonio Sanz temporarily assumes the duties of Health Minister: {Translation, summary}
– Following the resignation of Andalucian Health Minister Rocío Hernández amid the breast cancer screening crisis, President Juanma Moreno has temporarily transferred the competences of the Health Department to Antonio Sanz, Andalucian Minister of the Presidency. This arrangement, formalised in an extraordinary Official Bulletin of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA), makes Sanz responsible for the ordinary handling and management of Health and Consumer Affairs.
– Sources indicate that the transfer is provisional, with a final appointment expected next week, when Moreno may either designate a new minister or retain Sanz in the role permanently. {Sanz is a lawyer, not a doctor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Sanz}

– Cybersecurity experts have issued warnings about a new social engineering campaign circulating via WhatsApp, referred to as ‘Vote for My Child’, which uses a fake competition as a lure to deceive users, hijack their accounts, and send fraudulent messages and money requests to their contacts.
– Identified by cybersecurity firm Bitdefender on Meta’s instant messaging platform, this campaign does not rely on malware, but rather exploits the empathy and trust of potential victims to steal their accounts. It is reportedly spreading across Europe “very quickly”.
– Specifically, in the ‘Vote for My Child’ scam, malicious actors send messages from already compromised WhatsApp accounts, urging friends and family to vote for a child participating in a competition. Because the message appears to come from a known contact, the cybercriminals exploit the user’s trust, convincing them to click on the link to vote. Instead of accessing the alleged contest, users are directed to a website controlled by the scammers to cast their vote.
– During the voting process, users are asked for information such as their phone number and a six-digit WhatsApp verification code. Once this information is entered, the victims lose complete control of their accounts, which fall into the hands of the attackers. With control of these accounts, the cybercriminals then contact the stored contacts with fraudulent messages and requests for money, thereby perpetuating the scam. Bitdefender’s investigation identified 177 fraudulent domains and 554 unique URLs linked to this social engineering campaign.
– Experts further detailed that the scam remains active and is affecting “thousands of WhatsApp users across Europe”, particularly in Poland, Romania, and Germany, though cases have also been detected in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company emphasised how “particularly dangerous” these campaigns are, as they are designed to appeal to empathy and trust, preventing users from reasoning and making them victims. This effect is amplified by combining factors such as familiarity, with messages coming from known contacts, urgency to vote quickly, and the emotional appeal of helping a child. “Attackers manipulate victims into ignoring warning signs, so even users with digital knowledge can be deceived if trust and empathy outweigh caution,” Bitdefender explained. They also advise explaining these common scams in simple, easy-to-understand language to the most vulnerable groups, particularly older adults. TRAVEL
”For 244 euros I’m going to Tenerife for a week”, long queues to book an Imserso trip in Malaga: {Translation, summary}
– Strong demand for subsidised Imserso holidays once again led to long queues outside the Fomentur travel agency in La Unión, Málaga, where pensioners gathered from as early as seven o’clock in the morning, two hours before opening. Retired couples and friends hoped to secure a week-long trip to destinations such as Tenerife, Benidorm or Barcelona for around 200 to 250 euros, a price many described as essential given their modest pensions.
– Despite their early arrival, many travellers complained that Andalucía is disadvantaged compared with other regions because bookings elsewhere in Spain begin days earlier, leaving fewer desirable destinations available by the time reservations open in the south. By early afternoon, most cultural trips had sold out and only a few places in Mallorca remained. The agency advised people to return on 10 October in case of cancellations, and offered alternative trips not part of the Imserso programme at slightly higher prices. Photo: Javier Albiñana.
