If you are really serious about fitness there is a walking/jogging machine for sale as well FitBit Charge 2 Smart men’s watch and FitBit Alta HR Smart ladies watch. Both have heart rate monitors and motion detectors and loads more and also tell the time! They measure heartbeat, sleep data and step count and can be setup to measure specific activities such as running, walking, cycling and gym routines can be monitored.
Both have the original “Sport” plastic straps and additional conventional steel fashon bracelets.
The blood pressure monitor is the conventional upper arm cuff with a fully electronic measuring system and display. It’s approved by the British Heart Foundation and is very accurate. It maintains a record of previous readings and will give an average over time.

Recommendation for SPW Construction:
My wife and I settled into our new home near Competa five years ago. We quickly discovered numerous hidden vices, so commonly discovered due to poor building standards. One of the major problems we encountered was that of rising damp. No less than seven different people attempted to “fix” the problem, but in fact, only patched things up. Parts of our walls and ceilings had turned black and we were getting desperate. I looked at an ad on Digamextra published by SPW, and the word “damp” caught my eye. I called Scott Wilson and he came by three days later, on Sunday. To make a long story short, the house is dry and like new. Scott searched and found no less than five or six different leaks, including the swimming pool itself.
How not to give Scott Wilson and his team an A+++ for the job they finished to perfection just yesterday?
What makes this man superior to anyone else we’ve encountered in four different countries and three different continents?
1. Scott was an apprentice for six years, the first four of which he attended classroom theory once a week.
2. He works with a very select team of tradesmen that he has personally trained himself, and from whom, he expects the best performance.
3. Unlike so many guys who head up a small building company, he works along with his men. He was here on the site every day and made sure the job was perfect.
4. He mentioned once near the beginning that he strives not only to do the job as described in the quote, but always tries to go s step farther. He and his team showed that to us on several occasions during the time they worked on our house.
5. He also said that he wasn’t cheap. Well, if he doesn’t mind, I would reword that and say: “Given the high standards to which he works, he isn’t expensive.
6. Scott speaks fluent Spanish, which is obviously an advantage to a Spanish customer, but also when buying materials.
7. He listens to what you have to say, and always reacts positively. The numerous occasions where he demonstrated this would fill several pages of a book.
8. We also required a plumber, an electrician and a carpenter. Scott brought in some of the best we’ve ever seen. The electrician fixed a niggly problem in five minutes, which had stumped others for three years.,
I think that all of us want to take pride in our respective homes, and we were frankly losing hope. Scott Wilson took us out of the dark ages of the building trade in this country and has now allowed us to once again take pride in our lovely home.
What better way to conclude than to say that we’ve hired Scott and his team for another major job that will be starting early July.

Scientists at Stanford are doing their part to build what will be an inevitable dystopian nightmare, creating havoc in the news industry and courts.  The staff at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, Princeton University and Adobe Research have just announced (what many techies already suspected) that they have developed software that allows you to undetectably edit and change what people are saying in videos, allowing anyone to edit anybody into saying anything, according to Observer (https://observer.com/2019/06/ai-deepfake-videos-mark-zuckerberg-joe-rogan/). “Deep-Fake” videos have already appeared on Facebook, Twitter, and on “celebrity” porn sites. Famous deep-fake victims include Mark Zuckerberg, Joe Rogan and Katy Perry.
The software uses machine learning and 3-D models of the target’s face to generate new footage which allows the user to change, edit and remove words that are coming out of a person’s mouth on video, simply by typing in new text. Photos show fire spreading on Costa del Sol: Photographs posted to a local Facebook group showed the fire near to houses, which appear to show a wild fire spreading up a mountain in the Mijas area of the Costa del Sol. Comments suggested it broke out in the El Higueron area and that it may have begun in a timber yard.
Andalucia’s Plan INFOCA wild fire agency has declared that the fire has broken out. A fire engine and a helicopter have been dispatched to tackle the blaze.

-Friday 2100hrs The best and most unique saxophone act on the Costa returns to our beautiful terrace. Mixing every genre from classics to dance, Sax To The Rhythm is always guaranteed to get people dancing!
-Saturday 2130hrs What a treat we have lined up! The biggest band we’ve ever had in our tiny bar! The 6 piece Irish, celtic, rhythm’n’blues, rock’n’roll and country band, Thrifty Malone will be giving us a proper Irish night by the beach! And no, we have no idea where we will put them but it will be great fun
-Sunday 1500hrs This week we have back to back music acts with 5 hours of music!
We start with the wonderful Betty Loop. This duo are incredible and will have everyone singing and dancing in minutes!
Then, at 1800hrs, our Torrox local, Juan Serrano will take over and show us what undiscovered talent looks like cause this man can really sing!

Malagalingo: This month we are in a report in the German newspaper Costa del Sol Nachrichten. Here you have the translation of the report that you can read also in German in the photo below.
“Anyone planning to learn the Spanish language can do so at the language school Malagalingo in Torrox Costa. It does not matter if you only want to go on a short holiday or stay longer in Spain. The language school has offers for everyone. For example, you can take part in the “Come and Go” program, where interested parties can come and go as they please. The advantage of this program is that there is no sequential structure of the lesson and it is a pay on the day for each lesson. Anyone interested can participate without appointment. Every Wednesday and Friday beginners from 10am to 11am, advanced from 11am to 12pm and professionals from 12 to 13 can extend their language skills at Malagalingo. For those who want to learn Spanish from scratch, there is a summer intensive course that takes place daily and lasts between three and five hours and lasts one, two, three or four weeks, depending on the program. The number of participants in the intensive courses is limited to a maximum of six people. The focus of the lesson is mainly conversation that takes place on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Our language school is new. It was not until January of this year that Susana Iglesias started the language school. The teacher realized the need for a Language school in Torrox Costa, after numerous people had asked her about it. The way in which Spanish is taught to participants differs from classical language schools. Latest technologies are used at Malagalingo. In addition, the students always have a relaxed and fun atmosphere. “We are totally happy here,” said a group of language students at Malagalingo. “Previously, we visited another language school, which put a lot of emphasis on theory and writing, but here we talk a lot and come faster to our goal, to speak the language, to communicate with Spaniards.”

Recommendation: We were, unfortunately, let down by an English decorator who was apparently unable to telephone and stop us waiting for his arrival at our Nerja apartment. The president of the Sociedad Española de Medicina Estética, Petra Vega, says patients should only be seen by qualified doctors and recommends asking for a written report about the treatment received or the product used.
I’ve previously warned about the local healthcare system providing care with unqualified students, and non-doctor technicians making decisions about treatments & medications that are supposed to require a real MD. The problem is now so great that some real MDs are raising the alarm. The Association of Cosmetic Doctors of Malaga has even used detectives and provided evidence to the law courts of illegal practices and the use of unauthorized products. Hopefully other medical specialties will follow suit and clamp down on these life threatening abuses.
It was a non-MD trainee working on my broken arm who didn’t want to bother the doctor doing his rounds to get a Rx for a narcotic painkiller he himself was unauthorized to prescribe, that insisted on instead administering the uncontrolled painkiller Novotil that nearly killed me! I also had a local clinic mis-diagnose a kidney stone as a slipped disk. It added 2 days to my agony before the Rincon Clinic properly diagnosed me; in 2 hrs they had had the stone dissolved and the pain was gone. I returned to the first clinic later to complain only to be told I had been seen by a technician, not a proper doctor (“Our doctor would never make such an error” yeah, right); and then they had the nerve to ask if I wanted an appointment with their real doctor days after Rincon had sorted it! These people have no shame. Your health is your responsibility, take proper precautions!

Recommendations

Recommendation: Anthony Barlow based in Vente Baha did a great job completing a number of projects a our house. I had researched builder in the area and he came highly recommended by many.
Works to install high level guttering and pipes from terrace drain for rainwater harvesting and re grouting a shower cubicle were undertaken professionally. Good communication and awareness of clients needs. Tidy and prompt. He has been in building trade all his life much of the time spent building houses in Spain.

New EU Internet Copyright Filters Take Effect Today: YouTube, Facebook and all other major media and social media and news sites in the EU have begun filtering all media content posted online for copyright infringement. This is brand new so expect a bumpy start. They are bound to err on the side of safety by blocking some non-copyrighted content as they work out the bugs. Supposedly the wrongly blocked items will reappear as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) behind the filters learns and adapts. So if you can’t find your favorite funny cat video online, or an article on a website you often visit has vanished, you now know what happened. This law only applies to companies with gross sales of $10M or more annually, so DigameXtra.com dodged a bullet there.

Politicians from Poland, Germany, and elsewhere in the European Union are exploring ways to sidestep contentious provisions of a new copyright rule, in effect June 7, that critics fear will undercut internet freedom. The EU directive is intended to get copyright policy in tune with the digital age. These EU Directives function as packages of instructions that national governments must write into their laws. In this case, member states have two years—until June 7, 2021—to update their statutes. Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Facebook Inc. may have to negotiate licenses for songs or video clips before publishing user uploads, under the new rules. Publishers, too, have new legal rights to help them retrieve payment from all types of online services.

We need to watch this AI-driven internet filter as it develops, especially in regards to censorship, news access and election coverage; it is a very powerful force susceptible to abuse.
