O’Learys Irish Bar, Torrox Costa: 11 months, that’s how long we’ve been open and to have reached 2000 likes and follows in that time is nothing short of humbling! From mentions on Irish radio, regular customers from more countries then we thought possible and to people contacting us 3 months before they come on holiday just to get our music line ups, we just can’t believe how far our tiny little bar seems to reach!
So, stick with us cause we’re nowhere near done yet and have loads of things lined up to make us bigger and even better, starting of course with Cian’s first brunch morning tomorrow!

We have potted Vetiver of different sizes and also in trays of multiple plants that we have grown in our greenhouses for sale. They are more mature plants which will establish quickly in colder climates. They are for pick up only due to their weight. We also have the normal slips available as usual. The best time to plant Vetiver is between now and the end of March. This way the plant gets the benefit of a long hot summer. Remember that Vetiver is indigenous to India and loves the heat. Vetiver can be planted all summer long.

Malagalingo Spanish Language School:
Free Spanish cinema series (short films) every Thursday afternoon in Malagalingo Spanish Language School
Starting on February, every Thursday at 6:30 pm you can come to Malagalingo to watch for free a Spanish short film with an approximate duration of between 10 and 20 minutes.
All of them will be in Spanish language and with subtitles in Spanish when it is possible to find them or with English subtitles when it is not possible.
At the end of the short film until 7:30 pm we will also have a little chat in spanish to comment on the film and practice a little Spanish language
You are all invited to attend for free every Thursday (UNTIL FULL CAPACITY).
We are in Torrox Costa, just opposite Mercadona and BBVA, in the main entrance door that is between MAPFRE and ÓPTICA SALTO, in the first floor. Paintings from Maren Wellendorf (Torrox)

Until 2008 Maren Wellendorf lived in the art village Worpswede in Germany. Ten years ago she established her studio near Torrox. Her painings had been showed in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Bremen and Malaga. During the last two years she started a new series called “Rockfaces”. It is the result of studying the changing morphology of the mountains/landscape, but in details. The breaking rocks show the running time and life in slow motion, the transiency.
“My paintings show the structures, the lines and forms, of a visual reality. I call it realistic structuralism.”

Craig has been raising money for many different charities by walking long distances over many years.

The Nerja Players: Hobson’s Choice
This well-known comedy has long been a favourite with theatre companies and audiences alike. Written by Harold Brighouse it was first produced in America in 1915 and at the Apollo theatre, London, the following year. In 1954 it was made into a BAFTA Award winning film, starring Charles Laughton as Hobson with John Mills and Prunella Scales in her first film role.
Set in Salford, near Manchester, in 1880, it features the larger-than-life character, Henry Hobson, a prosperous bootmaker and his three daughters. Despite the Victorian setting the play resonates with current attitudes as Hobson’s overbearing attitude to his daughters and declared misogyny are tamed by the feisty eldest of the three, Maggie. At the same time she takes the timid and self-effacing Willie Mossop in hand and moulds him into a confident, self-assured and successful business man.

She has been living with me her foster carer for 5 months whilst she recuperated from a leg wound and gained weight. She is now healthy and happy, she is free of Mediterranean diseases. She understands basic commands and is young enough to still receive some more training. She is house trained.
Bonny is very good at defending her home. She can be left on her own in the house whilst you go about your business with no problem. In return she would be happy in a Campo home with a garden or land so she can have a good run around. She is microchipped and has her passport.

Events of February in Hotel Balcon Competa: Hello everyone, the next events we have are:
-Valentine’s Day on Friday 15th February, from 20.00h in our Restaurant, with the Live Music of the Bandits. We have Drinks including during the dinner, Toast with Sparkling Wine and 1 Licour per person. The price per person is 35 euros. Also we have the possibility of accommodation in our Hotel: Room with Balcony 130 euros (includes Special Dinner, accommodation and Breakfast) or Spicy Room with Balcony only 140 euros
-Wine Matchin Menu this Sunday 17th February, from 19.30h in our Restaurant. We will have Juanjo Sanchez as our Somellier, he will guide us through the different Wines and the Food. The price is 22 euros per person, including 4 glasses of different Wines and 4 dishes.
-Flamenco Dancer Show next Friday 22nd February, from 20.00h in our Restaurant. The dancer Sara Serrano will delight us with the different songs and her dance. There are like two sesions: first session of Classic Dancing and the second session is the Flamenco Dancing like everyone knows. She change the dress with every song and the dresses are full of colours.
-Live Music of Flynn on Sunday 24th February, from 14.00h in the Terrace (if the weather is good). Flynn is a Single Singer that will make to dance the best songs of all the times and do not stop, so are you ready for non stop dance?

Van Services: Our brand new van is fully insured and is running return trips between the UK and Southern Spain on a monthly basis, however, any location or job within Europe will be considered. The dates of travel will be scheduled but, where possible, we are happy to amend or add to these dates to meet customer needs.
Full or part loads are accepted from letters and small items through to large furniture items and house moves. Local ‘Man with Van’ jobs can also be undertaken.
We now have a storage facility in the UK along with delivery address should you wish to order goods in the UK. We also have limited short term storage capability in Spain.

Foster or Home Needed: Mr. Henry needs a new home, he is in my foster care right now but I am moving house and will not have the room for him. He can go to a home with other dogs but not cats. When he first came to me he would not let anyone near him after 4 months he has improved with his trust of humans but is still quite wary, so he is not a cuddly dog, Yet.
He is a very gentle dog, likes to play with my dogs would suit the campo or somewhere with a large enclosed area outside as he is not lead trained, as you can see from the photos he is just a lovely young dog.

We did run out of seats outside by 3pm and we did have to close our kitchen at 6pm because we just had no prepped food left! Vetiver Spain of Sayalonga:
We have potted Vetiver of different sizes and also in trays of multiple plants that we have grown in our greenhouses for sale. They are more mature plants which will establish quickly in colder climates. They are for pick up only due to their weight. We also have the normal slips available as usual. We can easily ship those if needed.
Check out our new addition of “Buttons” on our home page. They have information on planting, best time to plant, A “Vetiver Introduction Letter” with a load of information and of course more photos and videos related to the use of Vetiver.
The best time to plant Vetiver is between now and the end of March. This way the plant gets the benefit of a long hot summer. Remember that Vetiver is indigenous to India and loves the heat. Vetiver can be planted all summer long.
We are also taking orders for Moringa Trees that we have been growing in the greenhouses. There is a limited supply so place your orders soon. Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good Doctor at the Centro Salud in Torrox Pueblo who speaks English and not only speaks it but will!! We have lost our lovely Doctor at our surgery he has moved on and we are not happy with his replacement, we live in Torrox campo so can move to the Pueblo is we wish but I need to know who to register with who is going to be efficient.
I know the theory of we should speak Spanish and I do to a degree but don’t always understand everything and as pensioners it is not viable to take a translator every time as it is very expensive.
