Coraxalia choir new term starting: Do you like singing? Would you like to join a choir? We are inviting new singers to become members of the local, long-established choir, Coral Coraxalia under the leadership of Eusebio Pita. Great, friendly atmosphere, all nationalities, good repertoire, performances and concerts, social events, possible touring, etc. Rehearsals Thursdays 17.30 – 20.00 in the Casa Cultura (Casa Manaos) on the main A7205 road at Viñuela village. John Illsley of Dire Straits: Wednesday 9th October at Paris 15, Calle la Orotava, Malága. As one of the founding band members, with guitarist brothers Mark and David Knopfler, and drummer Pick Withers, Illsley played a role in the development of Dire Straits’ sound. By the time the group disbanded in 1995 changes in personnel meant that Illsley and lead singer Mark Knopfler were the only two original band members remaining. Illsley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Dire Straits in 2018.
Illsley has produced two albums of his own, with Mark Knopfler as a guest musician, and has helped with Mark’s personal projects and charities.
John will be appearing with his own band with guitarist Robbie McIntosh (The Pretenders, Paul McCartney John Mayer), he will be playing Dire Straits classics as well as songs from his latest solo album, ‘Long shadows’. Info&Tix

Phoenix Club’s Mrs Miggins home bake sale: Last year at the Phoenix Club’s Mrs Miggins home bake sale we sold several decorated Christmas Cakes. We did ask for the cake decorations to be returned as they are very expensive and we re-use them.
If you have any of our decorations which include angels, robins, santas, christmas trees, 3 wise men etc tucked away in a dusty drawer and forgotten, please may I have them back? Lost Pigeons?: Hello DigameXtraland, I wonder if there are any pigeon fanciers out there who could help me? Approximately 4 weeks ago a pigeon landed in my garden and started to eat the bread I put out for the birds here. It has a ring on each leg and stayed for about a week before flying off one night and came back the next day with another pigeon that is not ringed. I went to the U K for a week and when I returned they were still here. They are very tame and follow me around all the time but unfortunately they leave quite a bit of mess behind!
One of the rings has the number 326409 on it and underneath Andalusia. The other ring has the number 41 with what looks like ‘pinonette’ and the number 699451799 on it. I thought this might be a mobile number and tried ringing it but no luck.
I looked on the web and rang a pigeon club in Seville and the chap seemed to check the number and said he would get back to me but he has not, I assume my Spanish wasn’t quite up o the standard needed for pigeon racing!
If anyone could help me re-home these two birds I would be eternally grateful!
