Lost Dog Found
I found an abandoned dog looking for food in the trash .It has no owners nor a microchip .It has two bad eyes and is very thin .He cannot stay with me because I have work and 6 months .And I live in an apartment with a very small terrace. Advice on Transporting dog from Spain to Ireland.
We are moving to Northern Ireland. We want to bring our 4 year old labrador around the end of August to Belfast or Dublin.
We are looking for advice. Is air transport possible from Malaga to either of these airports? Have you flown your dog. Have you any experience regarding dog transport.
We love our dog. We are seeking the least traumatic method to bring her to Ireland. We will travel several weeks in advance so will be there to collect her. We would need appropriate dog cage too.

DoctorLaptop’s Tips #55 01AUG 2016
-The free Windows 10 Upgrade offer has ended. Windows 10 Home version now costs 89UK from Amazon UK or €135 from Microsoft ESP.
-Windows 10 users will receive a large “Anniversary Update” on 02AUG16or soon after. Be careful for the next month, not to force off your computer if it appears stalled or won’t finish shutting down. Your computer may be installing updates in the background, and it may take several hours. If this happens to you be sure to plug in your power cord, running out of battery power during this process could interrupt the update. An interrupted update can render your computer unbootable.
-Android tablet users will soon be receiving notices to upgrade to Android 6.0.1 (code name Marshmallow). It is recommended to do this update as soon as possible. Be sure to be on a strong wifi connection and have a full battery before starting the update process.
-I have seen several cases of ransomeware infected tablets recently. If your tablet locks up and displays a notice, often with official looking police symbols, demanding money to unlock your device or un-encrypt your data, it is actually a malware infected app. Do not send them money! Hold the power button down till it shuts off and get it to a computer tech ASAP. After 3 days it can be much harder (and more expensive) to fix. In some cases it may require a full factory reset to repair, which deletes all your data. Another reason to keep your data backed up.
-If you rely on email for your livelihood then you should not depend on a free email service. The free email data banks are less secure so get hacked regularly. Also, free email providers have appalling customer service if you have trouble or get locked out. I suggest Hushmail Personal or Small Business plans, based in Canada. https://www.hushmail.com/

Recommendation – Spanish Language Teaching
I can strongly recommend Juan Luis as a teacher of Spanish at a comfortable pace which you yourself set. My pace is just about tolerable – but I put that down to an age thing! My living ambition is to speak Spanish at an acceptable level so enabling me to communicate in a meaningful manner with many of the Nerja locals that I have got to know over almost forty years holidaying in the town.
JL has helped me to almost achieve this ambition and if I could concentrate on doing my “deberes” I would be writing this in Spanish! Gerry

Recommendation- Air Conditioing
I would like to take a moment to thank Pete Somerset at Polarair for transforming my world back to something that is more liveable. He fixed what I thought was a broken air con unit, fitted and extra one for my guest room and even threw in a free sensor so I don’t have to worry about friends leaving it on when not in the room…. And all within a few days of my calling him … Thank you so much Polarair great work and highly recommended

Recommendation- Healthy Eating in Competa
We recently sampled the new healthy lunch menu, La Bokita Verde, at Alioli, Plaza la Vendima in Competa.
It’s always difficult to find something on the menu suitable for vegans/vegetarians so we were delighted to find that not only were there several dishes to choose from, but the food was healthy, tasty and imaginative too. Highly recommended for vegans/vegetarians. D.P.
Recommendation – Antstop
I put a post here a while back asking for advice/suggestions as I was having problems with ants outside the house, some of which were starting to make their way inside.
A number of people were good enough to respond and I would like to thank them all for their trouble.
One recommendation was for a product called AntStop, which was said to destroy the colonies and this seemed to be what was needed. I don’t know if it’s retailed in Spain but easily available from Amazon or, in my case, a garden centre in Bridgend via Ebay.
It arrived within a few days and I put little heaps of granules by most of the visible entrance/exit holes. A tad disappointing at first as the ants seemed to be ignoring it, but maybe it’s an acquired taste as the heaps gradually disappeared over the course of 4 or 5 days.
And, not too long afterwards, the ants did too!! Activity inside the house stopped almost immediately and a careful inspection around the perimeter today has revealed no ant activity whatsoever.
So, a product that does do what it says on the tin (actually a drum). Hope this may help any others similarly afflicted.
