Padron – Correction
The information posted Tuesday is not correct.
Apart from exceptional circumstances, there is no longer any requirement
for EU citizens to renew their Padron every 5 years.

Also, only “habitual” residents are required, by law, to sign on the Padron –
non residents are not allowed to, whatever the local Town Hall may say.

Many Town Halls flout these laws for their own benefit (the more people registered, the more subsidy they get from central government).
I have been on the Padron in my town for 17 years and have never been asked to renew my entry, even when I request an up to date copy of my registration.

On Monday the 10th April at 12.30 The Phoenix Club is hosting an informative talk on several topics including Residencia, Health and Empadronado by Myra Cecilia Azzopardi from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Casares, Spain. There will time for questions as well.
This will be held at our meeting place, Bar La Vega and all are welcome.
To help defray accommodation costs a small charge of €2.50pp will be levied and will include coffee and tapas.

A wonderful experience
On 11th March Coraxalia Choir took part in ‘Cantemos’, the first International Choir Festival in Granada at the Manuel de Falla Concert Hall. They performed Mozart’s Requiem which was accompanied by the Orchestra of the province of Granada.
On Coraxalia’s individual performance a professional music critic reported:
“It was a “Susan Boyle “moment for the audience when they saw a somewhat ‘mature’ choir performing. They were not expecting to hear such a fabulous sound and it made the audience sit up and take notice! “The feeling of teamwork shone in the performance of Coraxalia.” “Theirs was a very professional, controlled and musical interpretation, which was consistent throughout their program.” “The general sound of the choir was very rich, without individual voices standing out or interrupting the flow of music, with a balanced use of the rubato.” “They showed that they really enjoyed performing together.” “They had the most enjoyable musical program of the night.” “Excellent tuning and good interpretive taste”. “As for the Requiem, the overall sound was phenomenal.” “I could have been listening to any professional choir.”

The text of the email should be what you’d like to see published – but note:

If your first attempt to sell fails, note that a second attempt will not be allowed unless the original price is reduced considerably, nor for at least 4 weeks later.
Anyone selling anything must include the make and model number of the item.
Photos will only be published once.
Photos must be in JPEG Format

All formatting, pretty colours, bold, underlining, strange fonts etc are automatically removed.
Please – Don’t use all Block CAPITALS LIKE THIS or I may have to send it back for you to put into normal case (This is the way people normally write, with capital letters where appropriate – such as “I” and place names “Malaga”, makers’ names such as “Electrolux”, days of the week “Monday”
You must include contact details, either an email address or a telephone number in the text. If you don’t I cannot publish it. Often I cannot “extract “your email address from the email, so repeat it please.

if it were a Contributor’s address I’d insert spaces thus –

So all you do is remove those spaces before contacting a contributor.
New Rules for Blog
