What’s On –Cudeca have a Cancer Support Group in Nerja and one also in Competa.
The Nerja one meets once a month in Cafeteria Cavana (directly across from rear of the Church). We usually meet second Thursday of each month, however not July and August – so next meeting will be 14th September at 11.30 a.m. Help and assistance is also available from the Cudeca centre cudeca@cudeca.org or telephone 95 256 4190.
Sorry I don’t know details about meetings in Competa, but you will probably hear from them too.

What’s On– Phoenix Club Events
Trip by Boat – Thursday 24th August
The Phoenix Club are off on a boat trip from Benalmadena Marina to Fuengirola Port on Thursday 24thAugust. On arrival at Fuengirola you have lots of time to have lunch with a bit of retail therapy as well as Fuengirola has some great shops!
The coach will pick us up from Fuengirola at 16.30 and we will have a trolley dash around Iceland on the way home, leaving Iceland at 17.30.
Time? 08.30 at Algarrobo Lidl as the boat sails at 10am
Price? €22.50
Includes boat fare, coach and drivers gratuity
Birthday Bash at Maro Caves
The Phoenix Club are celebrating their 8th birthday with a Dinner Dance at the Maro Caves Restaurant on Saturday 9th September.
A great evening out and included in the price of a fabulous meal with wine is cava and canapés on arrival

Transport €5pp extra with pick-ups along the coast.

Trip to Gibraltar – Friday 6th October
The Phoenix Club are off on their next shopping trip to Gibraltar on Friday the 4th August
We have pick ups at the A1 Garden Centre, Torre del Mar bus station and finally at Algarrobo Lidl at 08.30. The bus is parked in Morrisons car park and we leave Gibraltar at 16.30. Due to visa restrictions on entering Gibraltar, please advise if you are a non EU citizen when you book. Also it is important to remember to bring with you your EHIC card, just in case, and passports are essential. On the way to Gibraltar we stop to spend a penny and for coffee.
We would greatly appreciate if payment was made before the journey.
The price? €12pp includes a €1 gratuity for the driver. Children under 12 can join us for 1/2 price. Still the best value on the coast!
Early booking is recommended if you like a particular place, as seat numbers are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Plenty to see in Gibraltar apart from the shopping!
