At Chiki’s with U3A and Norma: Plans for this Fall. Hello dear friends of Chiki’s Bio Restaurant! We had liked to thank you all for your support throughout last spring. As you may remember I sent a similar note on DigameXtra a couple of months back. But now, I would like to ask you to register your interest on the two following events: 1) the Chiki’s Creative Circle *(CCC) will resume on Wed., Sept. 19th from 11am to 1pm. 2) On Wed. 8/26 we will be enjoying a Pies/Quiches Crust presentation; all without the traditional butter/flour combination, hence healthier. Our máximum is 10 participants (first 10 to register). The tuition is 20€ which will include lunch following the récipes demonstration. These activities will be enjoying the collaboration of Chiki and U3A (the University of the Third Age: http://www.u3aaxarquia.com). DoctorLaptop’s Tips #70: Windows 10 computers must be kept updated to avoid serious problems. This is NOT OPTIONAL. Everyone should be on v. 1803. If you are still on a previous version you should update now. Failure to do so can cause programs and apps to quit working correctly, can cause slow performance, inability to start (User Profile Not Found errors are common if you fall behind) and other issues.
How to tell what version of Windows 10 you have: press Windows Key + R, type “winver” into the Run dialog box, and press Enter.

The second line in the “About Windows” box tells you which version and build of Windows 10 you have. Remember, the version number is in the form YYMM—so 1607 means the 7th month of 2016. A couple of lines down, you’ll see the edition of Windows 10 you’re using— Windows 10 Pro in our example.
To check for updates now: Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. Restart when prompted. Then repeat process until Windows Update says your device is up to date, “you have all the updates that are currently available”.

Pool Pump Not Starting: When a pool pump fails to start, check that the fan at the rear of the pump is turning freely. If so then it is likely to be the capacitor which is located under the cover where you connect the power. This is cheap to replace. Make sure power is off before doing it. Pump Advice: On top of your pump is a small box, open it and inside you will find electronic components. One of these will be tubular, almost certainly grey with two wires coming out of it. It will be connected to a terminal block. They vary in size from about 80mm long downwards and about 30mm diameter or less. This is the Start/run condenser. It will have it’s rating on it, remove it and take it to your local ferretera for comparison. If they don’t have they will know where to get. I am fairly certain this will be your problem simple to do and less than 10€. Mine was 7€

Benalmádena town hall offer a FREE permit to have LIVE music at your business. Cut off date 20AUG. The town hall of Benalmadena are working on a “Rock Route” in the village. From September 1st, permission will be given to bars and businesses that want to schedule live music at their premises or terrace. The town hall will provide, free of charge, the permit and advertising.

There are a range of big and small animals and birds (tigers, panther, lions, flamingos, ostriches, parrots, rabbits, turtles, monkeys to name a few). You are able to feed some of these the food you can buy at reception – keep the pumpkin seeds for the bird area although the monkeys like these too. This is not a slick zoo, there is some upkeep that needs doing and some of the water pools needed topping up, but the animals do look healthy and looked after. You can watch the tigers – in and out of the water (you can see them in the water through glass and above the water from a viewing area) The highlight is the bird/small mammal area that you can go into. The birds will sit on you and eat food from your hand. Be warned they don’t always want to let go… There are also rabbits, iguanas, a peacock (albino?) and tortoises among other animals that you are able to touch.

Floor tiling: I am considering re-tiling our floor. When I have been to tile shops they have tried to talk me into porcelain tiles, and tell me they are much more hard wearing. They are also much more expensive, so probably the shops are biased.
But I have been told by people that they are difficult to lay and often crack when being laid, and that we should go for ceramic tiles.
Does anyone have any experience of laying porcelain tiles or have any advice to offer on this subject, as at the moment I don’t know which tiles to look at.

(The e-mail given on previous recommendations could not be delivered by postmaster? ) The elderly woman who answered took my phone number to which Diego promptly replied. Though he could not clean the chimney he gave me various options in detail, very positive comments which I agreed with.
