The first tour will take place at 10am, Sat, 19 Sept, kicking off a series of activities that will run throughout the next three months.

Living In A Welfare State– When working no longer pays off– €1,800 a month working full time compared to €1,450+ living on benefits: {Trans, summary}

– Strip away the effort, the commute, the childcare juggling, and the tax bill, and the state has engineered a system where working a full year barely outpaces sitting on benefits. This is the “poverty trap” in action: the harder you work, the less it visibly pays, and the incentive to clock in each morning keeps shrinking.
– {Note: this article ignores related, popular ploys. Some people on benefits work “black”, for unreported cash. In this way, someone can work “black” part-time while collecting full benefits, and actually have a greater income than another with a full time job who is following the rules. Another thing this situation causes is that single parents will claim to be single even if they have a partner in the shadows – not officially residing in the family home – as declaring a partner would lower their benefits. The Torrox Fair will feature nine headline concerts: {Trans, summary}
– The 2026 Torrox Fair will take place from September 30th to October 4th and will feature nine free headline concerts, as well as seven other performances by bands and DJs, and the participation of local choirs. RINCÓN DE LA VICTORIA
Rincón de la Victoria celebrates the 10th anniversary of Warrior Challenge with 1,500 participants and new obstacles: {Trans, summary}

Almáchar will bring together young people and adults on September 24th in a workshop on sustainability and climate change: {Trans, summary}

The settlement of beach squatters in Ceuta is growing despite the relocations, now more than 100 shacks are spreading from El Trampolín to Benítez beach: {Trans, summary}
– More than a hundred shacks now occupy Benítez beach in Ceuta, in an expansion of the settlement that, for about a month now, has also been concentrated in the El Trampolín area. The makeshift shelters have begun to proliferate next to the desalination plant that separates the two beaches.
