Rolling Stones 2019 Tour Postponed – Mick Jagger to undergo heart valve replacement surgery: LONDON (Reuters) – The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, 75, is to undergo heart valve replacement surgery this week in New York and is expected to a make a full recovery, U.S. website Drudge Report said on Monday, citing unidentified sources.
The group have postponed a tour of the United States and Canada to give Jagger time to receive medical treatment, the veteran rock band said on Saturday.

Jardín de la Alpujarra: This gorgeous garden in the high mountains of the Alpujarras – southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada National Park – will be open to visitors again from Friday 7th April and every Friday until July, from 10.00hrs to 18.00hrs. Entrance by donation of €3,50 (suggested). Enjoy a visit to this unique region of the Alpujarras of Granada and take in a garden visit at the same time.
In addition we will open on the first Sunday of each month, which means the garden will also be opening its gates on Sunday 7th April. We serve light refreshments whenever we are open, but this Sunday we are also offering a special food event: three course meal of spinach and feta baked in light pastry, followed by pork baked in paprika and molasses with roasted garden vegetables, along with a fruit crumble with homemade ice cream for dessert, all cooked in our large outdoor wood burning oven (with the exception of the ice cream!). Come and see the cooking in action, €20 a head plus entry donation, places must be reserved in advance. Vegetarian and vegan option available if requested. Fran Malpica, Blanca Barranco and Ramón López meet each other in 2018. Together with the project of the bassist Blanca Barranco, they take part in several Andalusian jazz competitions, of which they end up winning the second prize at El Portón del Jazz in Alhaurín de la Torre and the first one Prize in the II Olive Jazz of Jaén. Since then they have acted together with different formations sharing a common interest for jazz.
Today you can listen to a repertoire that moves through jazz classics under the guise of entropy and uncertainty.

World Class Jazz Club Coming to Malaga?: Randall Kline, founder of top US jazz venue SFJAZZ, currently one of America’s trend-setting musical venues, visits Malaga to support idea for a new jazz venue to replace the old Astoria Cinema on the city’s Plaza de la Merced. Randall Kline launched his San Francisco venue in 2013 and developers from Cordoba invited him to see for himself how they want to build a theatre space below street level, with bars and restaurants above and room for an extension to the Fundación Picasso birthplace foundation.

DigameXtra on Facebook Update: OK, so I started from scratch, set up a new email, signed up for a new FB account, set it up and proceeded to add a new DigameXtra page. I was almost done when up pops a message saying there was suspicious activity on my account and I must do an identity confirmation, demanding my mobile number. I was still in my very first session in a brand new account, how is that possible! The same issue blocking me from my old FB account! The codes never reach my mobile! Gas bottles: Someone called Martin has advertised in today’s digamextra the sale of two gas bottles. He is also suggesting that they could be used for a hobby craft by making them into a letter box or barbecue. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, cutting into a gas bottle could easily cause an explosion. Very dangerous suggestion.

SOS Animals to Close: Inland dog charity, SOS Animals, is to close in June and is urgently appealing for people who can offer a loving home to any of its dogs. SOS (Spay Our Strays) was founded on the Costa del Sol in 1997 and has been run by a small team of dedicated volunteers and supported by its sister charity, SOS Sweden, and Costa Canine Rescue UK.
The land where the Coín-based refuge is situated was sold after the owners returned to the UK and volunteers at the charity have been unable to find suitable, alternative accommodation for both the dogs and for the volunteers who help care for them. The refuge centre, which has rehomed thousands of dogs over the last 22 years, has announced that it can no longer accept dogs and is focusing all its energies on rehoming the animals in its care. DigameXtra on Facebook On Hold: Due to again being locked out of my FB accounts  for the umpteenth time I cannot continue to post daily DigameXtra issues on FB. I am working on it but FB support is almost useless, their identity confirmation won’t send my mobile the reset code, I don’t know anyone they show me photos of, I can’t send them a scan of my utility bill as it’s included in my rent, and evidently I don’t know my own birthday! However, I was surprised today to read that it’s also available via Facebook. I sadly left Facebook recently after many years because I think it’s (understandably for its size) out of control. I had become sick and tired of shared news stories that when I checked were completely untrue. These were more often than not racist stories. I reported them each time to Facebook and even provided links proving they were untrue. Not only did the posts not get taken down, I had no response at all from FB.
I would be much happier to know that DigameXtra was no longer available on Facebook.

Book signing by local author John Hardy: John Hardy will be selling signed copies of his books at the rescheduled Nerja Residents Day on Sunday 31st March 12 – 5 pm at the Plaza de España (unless the day is cancelled due to bad weather). He will have copies of the recently published book ‘Driven by Conflict’, a collection of stories about people involved in conflicts of many and various kinds, from the domestic to the international. Some of the stories are bleak, as stories of war and hostilities often are, whilst others are much lighter and even of a humorous nature. Many of them are romances and love stories. The conflicts and wars which are behind the stories range in time from 1000 BC up until the present day. They take place mainly in Europe and the Middle East and the majority are events that involve Great Britain, Spain and Israel, and the hostilities that they were involved in.
All his other books will also be available, including books of short stories of crime and mystery, some set in the Axarquía. Some of these have been translated into Spanish and German.

“Pippa Paws” charity shop in Nerja: A few days ago I came across the “Pippa Paws” charity shop in Nerja and I wondered how on earth I had never heard people talk about it. Perhaps because it is on a street one would not normally pass by. However, it is not at all difficult to find and is only half a minute from the main bus-stop/station, in a little street at the back of the Notaria. As I entered I thought…. Wow! There are wonderful curiosities, some interesting clothes, and comfortable chairs in which to sit whilst browsing books etc. I came away delighted with my purchases and will certainly visit again.

DoctorLaptop Alert: Windows 10 Update Assistant just offered me the brand new Windows 10 Creator’s Update to v1903. As always, new comps will receive the update first, then older models will follow. If your comp is more than 3 yrs old I STRONGLY suggest you get prepared now. Do a full system image backup to an external memory device and get your system updated to v1809 asap if it has not already done so.
After you do receive the v1903 update everyone needs to check their System Restore and be sure it is turned on and has at least 1% space allocated for Restore Points. These Creator’s Updates tend to reset System Restore and delete all the saved Restore Points from the pre-update version of Windows.
Also beware, if your computer was installed with a non-English version of Windows, and the display language has been changed with a Language Pack, it may revert to the original display language after a Creator’s Update. Not always, but I have seen it happen many times!

NERJA SWIMMING ALERT!: Don’t swim in the sea. SEPRONA WARNS THAT THE PRESENCE OF FECAL BACTERIA IN THE WATER CAN PRODUCE A RISK OF GASTROENTERITIS 
Translation of article Diario Sur:
Nerja The Institute of Toxicology has analyzed the water and concludes that the presence of fecal bacteria poses a risk of gastroenteritis and skin infection.
An “uncontrolled submarine landfill” . This is how the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Guardia Civil defines the state of Nerja’s funds in the vicinity of the two emissaries that, approximately one kilometer from the coast and some 40 meters deep, lead to the sea to all the flow of fecal waters of the municipality.
The Seprona has reached this conclusion after analyzing the funds of Nerja with the help of the agents of the Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) and the researchers of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO). The scientists calculated that in the vicinity of the emissaries of Burriana and Torrecilla there was a “crust” of garbage of 20 meters in diameter and up to three meters in height. In total, about nine tons of wipes, according to scientists.
Unsustainable situation The Seprona’s diagnosis of the result of the lack of sanitation in Nerja – “an uncontrolled submarine landfill” – leaves little doubt about the seriousness of a chronic situation with risks to bathers’ health due to faecal bacteria and serious environmental deterioration. Nerja, the only large municipality on the coast without a sewage treatment plant, has for too long been the victim of institutional neglect in this area, entrusted more to the fate of the tides and to the municipal fudge to repair its emissaries, which have been broken several times. Reporting on the judicial investigation in progress can be seen by some as contrary to the interests of the municipality, when in fact it fulfills a duty of coherence in the continued denunciation of the deficit of sanitation, now under exhaustive investigation. Nerja should leave the blacklist of discharges as soon as possible, and that means accelerating the works of the treatment plant, repairing the serious deterioration in the funds by accumulation of wipes and waste and having emissaries at the height of a sanitation system from which today they are only a precarious patch.
The agents and scientists of the Oceanographic have come to the conclusion that the Nerja background is suffering, in these areas, a mutation process , favoring the appearance of new opportunistic marine species as well as the proliferation of algae due to the accumulation of organic waste, as it happens, for example, in a raft, where the tonality of the water is of greenish color.
Researchers have also observed that the discharges emanating from the emissaries are at the mercy of marine currents , whose conditions contribute to the dispersion of pollutants. However, this displacement of waste tends to occur more horizontally than vertically given the different layers and currents inside the water column, which prevents that, at least in a nearby environment, these rubbish come out.
In addition to analyzing the seabed, the agents took different samples of the water and sent them to the Institute of Toxicology in Seville , and more specifically to the Toxicological Assessment and Environment Service. On November 23, 2018, they issued a report in which they concluded that wastewater discharges through the Torrecilla and Burriana emissaries can cause “substantial damage” to water quality, which could limit their use for water. bath, besides being a health risk and affecting the balance of marine systems.
SEPRONA WARNS THAT THE PRESENCE OF FECAL BACTERIA IN THE WATER CAN PRODUCE A RISK OF GASTROENTERITIS

Researchers also consider that this contribution of organic matter to the marine environment can affect photosynthesis and the formation of plankton. And all of this, in sum, can mean a decrease in biological diversity.
On the contrary, the last annual report by the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare on the quality of bathing water in Spain, dating from 2017, gives the rating of “excellent” to all the beaches of Nerjeño. The organism puts the same note to all the beaches of the province, except to the one of Venus-Bajadilla, in Marbella, which stays in “good” quality. The parties ask for a solution, but they try to avoid responsibilities «It is very sad to see the wipes stuck against the rocks, we hope for a solution» The seabed of Nerja accumulates nine tons of wipes for untreated discharges

Stolen!: This Trek mountain bike was stolen from my apartment in Laguna Beach Complex, Torrox Costa, between 12 and 1pm, Sunday 24th March. The thieves forced a ground floor window and climbed into the conservatory/balcony. Black/blue frame, with white front forks. Black saddle with a white gel saddle cover. Attached to the handlebars was a Garmin GPSMAP 64. Also stolen was a grey helmet and tyre pump. Complex was full of weekenders, so it’s probably on its way to Madrid, or Granada.
