(My choice to pay for teas)                        This is a structured lesson, with grammar, verbs and vocabulary. ie.it is not a chat type lesson. He gives homework! Notification from Archez Council  Archez Water Supply                        Notification from Archez Town Hall – Please be advised, that on Thursday 18th January, the water supply in Archez will be cut off throughout the day as the Town Hall carries out essential cleaning work to the municiple water deposit. What’s on– Arthritis Exercise Class                                                                         Who: Suitable for people who are suffering chronic pain from degenerative arthritis such as osteoarthritis of the knee, the hip, spine (including spondylosis and spinal stenosis), neck, shoulders, elbows.                                                                              Why: Research has shown that a regular exercise regime can:   strengthen your joints and body in general     reduce pain     improve your physical function             improve your psychological well-being                                                                      What: We will be exercising twice a week for 6 weeks. Each session lasts for 1 hour and includes a 45 minute exercise session followed by a 15 minutes information/education session. Maximum 8 people per class. Please note that the classes are mixed sex. Book now to reserve your place.                                                   How: Each exercise session starts with a gentle warm-up. Then exercises are performed for 1 minute at a time. There will be a 1-2 minute rest between exercises. The exercises are gentle and can be progressed as you improve. We finish with a cool down. What’s on Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar January Coming Excursions. Thursday January 18^th – Coach Excursion to Gibraltar.  Why not join Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar and visit Gibraltar, a chance to take a Cable Car to the top of the Rock, see the Unique Barbary Apes.  Visit the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, where you will find the Historic Tunnels dating from 1779-1783 and St. Michael´s Cave.  Both of these have guided tours.  In the town can be seen the Gibraltar Museum, Government House and in the Southern area are key historical sites. All information may be obtained from the Tourist Office, or an excellent alternative way of seeing the sights is by hiring a taxi, whose drivers are very knowledgeable and will explain the interesting, historical life of the Rock.  It is also an opportunity to purchase Duty Free Items and typical English items of food, etc. from the Morrisons Super Market. Ticket price 12 Euros available at the Centre.  Proceeds for fund raising.  Departure times Puente don Manuel (Bar Mis Tapitas) 6.45, Algarrobo (Lidl) 7.15, Caleta (Vets) 7.20 and Torre Del Mar (Bus Station) 7.30. REQUIRED.                                                                        Thursday January 25^th – Coach Excursion to Zahara de la Sierra & Ronda.  Please come and join friends on an excursion to the white village of Zahara de la Sierra which has one of the most stunning settings in the province of Cadiz, if not the whole of Andalucía. As you drive towards the village you see a castle built on a rocky peak at a height of 1100 meters above the turquoise waters of a lake and scattered below it are the whitewashed houses. On arrival at approximately 10.15 there will be free time to look around the village.    The Plaza Mayor is Zahara’s main focus and heart, and a pretty place to stop in a bar to watch the world go by. Around the square are the Church of Santa Maria de la Meza, tourist office, Town Hall, souvenir shop, mirador (viewing spot), which offers splendid views over the reservoir, the  countryside and across to the village of Olvera in the distance. You could also visit the castle above the town. The ‘castle’ is actually a six-hectare area on the rocky hill, known as the ‘Villa Arabe’ or ‘Villa Medieval’; its crowning glory is the Homage Tower.  The path starts at the car park on the roof of Hotel de la Villa and is wide with a handrail in good condition but please note that it is a steep climb. The first historic building looks like the homage tower but is the Iglesia Major and you still have a long way to climb. Be careful here as the birds nest in the walls and make a mess on the path or persons below. The supporting buttresses are modern but the walls are original. You will re-join the coach at 12.30 for the drive to Ronda arriving at approximately 13.30.                        There will be free time in Ronda for lunch and to admire the spectacular view of the gorge from the 18^th century bridge, Puente Nuevo, which also divides the new part of town from the Moorish area.  There is the Moorish mansion, and from this there an incredible underground stairway called Mina with 365 steps leading down to the river. There is also the cathedral, Roman baths, bull ring and much more to discover.
