The contagion curve of the fourth wave continues to decline in Andalusia: {Translation}
-The contagion curve of the fourth wave of coronavirus falls slowly in Andalusia, which this Monday counts 1,785 new cases and 7 deaths with data from the last 48 hours. This is 249 cases less than the record last Monday .
-The evolution of infections in recent days sets the trend: on Saturday 1,839 cases were counted in just 24 hours, 2,070 were on Friday for 1,884 on Thursday, 1,899 on Wednesday. Only last Tuesday marked a lower number of infections last week.
-Seville is the province that has added the highest number of infections in the last two days, with 492; Granada registered 331, Cádiz 228, Málaga 199, Jaén 181, Huelva 138, Almería 124 and Córdoba 92 positive for coronavirus.
-This slight decrease in infections influences the incidence rate. At 14 days, it stands at 240 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while at 7 days it is 104, less than half. This data confirms the downward trend of the impact of the fourth wave. However, there are provinces above the extreme alert level. This is the case of Granada, which continues to have the highest incidence in the community with 430 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants; Jaén, with 337 cases and Seville, whose 14-day rate has been stalled for days at 270 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants.
-The lowest rate is Malaga that has 138 cases and therefore in medium level alert, followed by Cadiz, with 176 cases, Cordoba, 188; Almería, which registers 239 cases, and Huelva, with 246.
-The also decreases for the sixth consecutive day number of hospitalized Covid patients, which this Monday is 1,426 -Those admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) have fallen by four in relation to Sunday’s data to stand at 318.
-Those hospitalized are 106 less than a week ago ; and the patients in ICU, ten less. Source, Spanish: https://sevilla.abc.es/andalucia/sevi-coronavirus-andalucia-curva-contagios-cuarta-sigue-baja-andalucia-202104261148_noticia.html

Andalusia Covid vaccine- 42% of people over 60 years of age already have at least one dose: {Translation, 1st paragraph only}
The Minister of Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre , has assured that over 60 years there are 42 percent of Andalusians with a dose of the vaccine coronavirus ; while in the case of those over 70 years of age, the percentage rises to 70.6 percent; in addition to the fact that “those over 80 years of age have all of us vaccinated.” Source, Spanish: https://sevilla.abc.es/andalucia/sevi-vacuna-covid-andalucia-42-por-ciento-personas-mayores-60-anos-tiene-puesta-menos-dosis-202104261445_noticia.html

Junta de Andalucia will this Monday April 26 begin mass screenings in four municipalities in the province of Malaga, namely, Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo, Ronda, and Cuevas del Becerro: This comes after the General Directorate of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Management believed these areas to be susceptible to a specific risk assessment after having detected in them a growing trend of coronavirus infections. Gov’t Agencies Hack Computers To Fix Malware WITHOUT Notifying Users!: Emotet, the notorious email-based Windows malware behind several botnet-driven spam campaigns and ransomware attacks, was automatically wiped from infected computers en masse following a European law enforcement operation.
While the motivation, to remove very bad malware, is noble, noone has any business breaking into your computer without permission.
Twice in the past 30 days, once in the US and once in the EU, authorities have done just that. This sets the stage for gov’ts to access your data whenever they deem necessary, with very little oversight. In order to find the malware they must scan the entire contents of your computer. Do you want the gov’t to see everything on your computer? That includes every file, every website visited, every search you have done. Do you have private info or company secrets to protect? Without any legislation or public debate they just went ahead and did as they pleased. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! While malware is bad, it is no excuse for these drastic measures. I suspect we will see some big ticket class action lawsuits as a result, which the taxpayers will end up footing the bill for. The only clear way to stop this is to encrypt your entire hard drive, while not difficult to do, it will slow your computer significantly, as well as also using a paid, well respected VPN for ALL your online activities. 1.5 Billion Apple Devices at Risk- Apple Ignores AirDrop Bug That Could Leak Your Personal Info to Anyone Nearby:
Only turn on AirDrop when in use! When finished, disable it!
“As an attacker, it is possible to learn the phone numbers and email addresses of AirDrop users – even as a complete stranger,” said a team of academics from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. “All they require is a Wi-Fi-capable device and physical proximity to a target that initiates the discovery process by opening the sharing pane on an iOS or macOS device.”
-The researchers said they privately notified Apple of the issue as early as May 2019, and once again in October 2020 after developing a solution named “PrivateDrop” to correct the flawed design in AirDrop.
-But given that Apple is yet to indicate its plans to fix the privacy leakage, users of more than 1.5 billion Apple devices are vulnerable to such attacks. “Users can only protect themselves by disabling AirDrop discovery in the system settings and by refraining from opening the sharing menu,” the researchers said. Coronavirus vaccination campaign among the elderly in Spain is starting to pay off: A medical expert said that proof that vaccines work is that now the majority of the elderly admitted for coronavirus had decided not to be vaccinated.
José Luis Velasco, deputy medical director of the Clínico explained, “Over 80 years old, we only have six patients and they were not vaccinated.” Of the 15 patients in hospital with Covid-19 over the age of 70, 14 had not received the vaccine: “When you discuss it with them, they tell you that they had fears and that is why they had not been vaccinated”. E.U. Set to Let Vaccinated U.S. Tourists Visit This Summer: American tourists who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to visit the European Union over the summer, the head of the bloc’s executive body said in an interview with The New York Times on Sunday, more than a year after shutting down nonessential travel from most countries to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
“The Americans, as far as I can see, use European Medicines Agency-approved vaccines,” Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said Sunday in an interview with The Times in Brussels. “This will enable free movement and the travel to the European Union. Because one thing is clear: All 27 member states will accept, unconditionally, all those who are vaccinated with vaccines that are approved by E.M.A.,” she added. European Commission launches legal action against AstraZeneca over ‘failure to respect Covid-19 vaccine contract’: Announcing the move on Monday, spokesman Stefan De Keersmaecker said “the Commission has started last Friday legal action against the company AstraZeneca on the basis of breaches of the advance purchase agreement.” He said the reason for the legal action was that “some terms of the contract have not been respected” and that “the company has not been in a position to come up with a reliable strategy to ensure a timely delivery of doses.”
AstraZeneca’s contract with the European Union foresaw an initial 300 million doses for distribution among the 27 member countries, with an option for a further 100 million.
Only 30 million doses were delivered in the first quarter of 2021, and the company says it can only provide 70 million in the second quarter, rather than the 180 million it had promised.
AstraZeneca said in a statement that it “regrets” the commission’s decision to take legal action and it will “strongly defend” itself in court.

Warning Over New UK Travel Announcement: MPs and travel operators in the UK are reportedly warning the government will spark confusion if their travel green list conflicts with Foreign Office travel advice.
According to the Express newspaper, fears have been raised that holidaymakers could still face trouble if they want to visit a green list country once the UK government announces its list of countries for travel if the Foreign Office separately advises against travel to the destination. Bill Gates says no to sharing vaccine formulas with global poor to end pandemic: Bill Gates, one of the world’s richest men and most powerful philanthropists, was the target of criticism from social justice campaigners on Sunday after arguing that lifting patent protections on COVID-19 vaccine technology and sharing recipes with the world to foster a massive ramp up in manufacturing and distribution – despite a growing international call to do exactly that – is a bad idea. Pamplona In Spain Suspends Sanfermines Bull Run For The Second Year In A Row: “To my very despair, I’m forced to officially suspend the festival of San Fermin in 2021,” Mayor Enrique Maya told reporters on Monday, April, 26. Surprise in the deep sea- Researchers discover sponge paths on the ocean floor: A team around deep-sea scientist Antje Boetius has now discovered that sponges, long thought to remain stationary anchored to an ocean floor object, or swept along by currents, actually leave trails on the sea floor in the Arctic deep sea. They conclude that the animals might move actively – even if only a few centimetres per year. Full article: https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2021-04/awih-sit042621.php

Andalusia reduces by 45 those hospitalized this Sunday, but increases the patients in ICU: {Translation} Updated: 04/25/2021 3:05 p.m
-Andalusia falls for the fifth day in a row hospitalised by coronavirus this Sunday 25 April to 1,427, 45 less than the day before and 30 less than last Sunday, while those admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) have increased after two days in decline to 322, eight more in one day and 20 more than a week ago.
-The number of hospitalised patients fell by 45 after dropping by 29 on Saturday and Friday, 58 on Thursday and five on Wednesday, rising by 61 on Tuesday and 75 on Monday, and falling by 41 last Sunday.
-For their part, ICU patients have increased by eight after dropping by four on Saturday and three on Friday, and five consecutive increases: two on Thursday, one on Wednesday, five on Tuesday, six on Monday and eleven on Sunday.
-The region is still far from the peaks of hospitalised patients recorded in the third wave on 2 February (4,980), in the second on 10 November (3,478) and in the first on 30 March 2020 (2,708).
-With regard to ICUs, Andalusia also remains below the peak of the third wave reached on 7 February (735), of the second on 18 November (528) and of the first on 30 March 2020 (439). Israel examining heart inflammation cases in people who received Pfizer COVID shot: Israel’s Health Ministry said on Sunday it is examining a small number of cases of heart inflammation in people who had received Pfizer’s (PFE.N) COVID-19 vaccine, though it has not yet drawn any conclusions. Israel’s pandemic response coordinator, Nachman Ash, said that a preliminary study showed “tens of incidents” of myocarditis occurring among more than 5 million vaccinated people, primarily after the second dose.
Most of the cases were reported among people up to age 30. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-examining-heart-inflammation-cases-people-who-received-pfizer-covid-shot-2021-04-25/

Stop Apple from deleting your old or banned apps: Instead of paying app developers to update their apps, Apple, in many cases, just buys replacement apps and removes old apps from their store, and your iPhone/iPad, without even notifying you. This has earned Apple a terrible reputation with app developers, many of whom will never work with Apple again for this reason. Thus the poor selection of reliable apps from well known developers in the Apple Store when compared to the huge variety available for Windows, who does pay developers to update their apps. Here is a way to prevent your old apps from being deleted by Apple. -Naythan

MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) researchers say you’re no safer from Covid indoors at 6 feet or 60 feet in new study challenging “social distancing policies”:
MIT professors Martin Z. Bazant, who teaches chemical engineering and applied mathematics, and John W.M. Bush, who teaches applied mathematics, developed a method of calculating exposure risk to Covid-19 in an indoor setting that factors in a variety of issues that could affect transmission, including the amount of time spent inside, air filtration and circulation, immunization, variant strains, mask use, and even respiratory activity such as breathing, eating, speaking or singing.
“We argue there really isn’t much of a benefit to the 6-foot rule, especially when people are wearing masks,” Bazant said in an interview. “It really has no physical basis because the air a person is breathing while wearing a mask tends to rise and comes down elsewhere in the room so you’re more exposed to the average background than you are to a person at a distance.”
The important variable the CDC and the WHO have overlooked is the amount of time spent indoors, Bazant said. The longer someone is inside with an infected person, the greater the chance of transmission, he said.
“We need scientific information conveyed to the public in a way that is not just fearmongering but is actually based in analysis,” Bazant said. After three rounds of heavy peer review, he said it’s the most review he’s ever been through, and that now that it’s published he hopes it will influence policy.

How a single pill home cure for Covid could be available this year: If the trial is successful, it is just possible that a home cure for Covid-19 will become available later this year. The anti-viral pill was developed from scratch during the current pandemic, Dafydd Owen, the director of medicinal chemistry at Pfizer, told a private symposium of the Division of Medicinal Chemistry last month. PF-07321332 will be administered in combination with low doses of Ritonavir, an antiviral used to treat HIV. It acts as a “booster” to increase the amount of PF-07321332 in participants’ blood. Why Password Manager Apps Should Be Avoided: As I have warned in previous articles, cloud services (including password managers) get hacked regularly. So why would you trust them to store all your passwords? For example: Click Studios, the Australian software company behind the Passwordstate password management application, has notified customers to reset their passwords following a supply chain attack…”Affected customers password records may have been harvested.” The full list of compromised information includes computer name, user name, domain name, current process name, current process id, names and IDs of all running processes, names of all running services, display name and status, Passwordstate instance’s Proxy Server Address, usernames and passwords.
This is not an isolated event. In December 2020, a rogue update to the SolarWinds Orion network management software installed a backdoor on the networks of up to 18,000 corporations, allowing hackers access to these victim corporation’s customer’s data.

Apple News- iOS 14.5 arrives this week, 2 reasons you should wait to update your iPhone or iPad: Being an early adopter of iOS 14.5 or any new software doesn’t always pay off.
The updates will go live this week, and while we don’t have an exact date we do know that it will include several additional features, such as new Siri voices and a fancy new Face ID feature that makes it possible to use your iPhone while wearing a face mask.
While it’s tempting to update your iPhone or iPad to the latest and greatest software Apple has to offer, being an early adopter of anything, even official OS updates, can cause more issues and headaches than it’s worth. Instead of jumping on the iOS 14.5 bandwagon right away, you might find it better to wait a few days before updating (I’d wait 2 full weeks, minimum. -DoctorLaptop).

Spanish Politics- Chaos reigns at Madrid electoral debate, as Pablo Iglesias walks out and program cut short after clashes with far-right Vox candidate: A pre-election debate held at the Cadena SER radio network descended into chaos on Friday morning, with the Unidas Podemos candidate for the upcoming Madrid regional polls, Pablo Iglesias, walking out of the studio almost as soon as the program had begun. The left-wing politician, who recently left his role as deputy prime minister in the national government to contest the May 4 elections, opted to leave given the refusal of far-right Vox candidate Rocío Monasterio to retract doubts she had expressed over whether death threats he had received were genuine. She said, “And well, I believe little of what Pablo Iglesias says, and I think that all Spaniards, every time that we hear Pablo Iglesias say something, we call it into question because he has deceived us vilely over this last year.” Full article: https://english.elpais.com/politics/2021-04-23/chaos-reigns-at-madrid-electoral-debate-as-pablo-iglesias-walks-out-and-program-cut-short-after-clashes-with-far-right-vox-candidate.html

Andalusia lowers the extreme risk due to Covid although it adds more than 2,000 new infections in one day: {Translated in full} Updated: 23/04/2021 14:13
-Andalusia recorded this Friday 2,070 new cases of coronavirus and 33 deaths due to Covid-19 on the day that the community reduced its incidence rate to 14 days below the limit of 250 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants that marks the level of extreme risk in the pandemic.
-Despite exceeding two thousand positives in one day, a record higher than in previous days, this is 407 fewer cases than those counted a week ago, something that affects the controlled trend of the infection curve of the fourth wave in Andalusia.
-The one-week incidence rate of 106 cases supports this theory of a favourable evolution. It is less than half the 14-day rate (249). In this dynamic, the incidence rate has fallen in all provinces, except in Seville, which copies the 273 cases of Thursday, and Malaga, the province with the lowest incidence (140 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants), which is the only one in which this indicator has risen this Friday. Cadiz experienced a significant drop in incidence with 177 cases and to a lesser extent Almeria (258), Cordoba (219), Huelva (261), Jaen (347) and Granada, the province with the greatest impact of the disease and a 14-day incidence rate of 438 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
-Another evidence of the positive trend marked by the fourth wave is the decrease in care pressure. On Friday, 1,501 Covid patients were admitted to Andalusian hospitals, 29 fewer than on Thursday. Of the total, 318 are being treated in intensive care units, three less than the day before.
-Granada and Seville are under the most pressure, with 346 and 383 Covid patients respectively. The ICUs of Granada’s hospitals are the ones treating the most patients, with 85 patients on Friday. Andalusia extends the current measures against Covid for one more week: curfew, mobility and schedules: {Translation, 1st paragraph only}
The BOJA confirms Andalusia has extended until April 29 the validity of the current measures decreed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which affect both the perimeter closure of the autonomous community and that of each of its eight provinces, as well as the schedule of the known as a night ‘curfew’ in the section between 11pm and 6am.

The Junta de Andalucía could decide to allow mobility between provinces next week: Speaking at the opening of a health centre in Almeria, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced that the region could make a decision to open mobility between provinces next week.
The head of the regional government said that, as usual, the final decision would be made by the committee of experts that advises the Junta on making decisions about the pandemic and that it will meet next Tuesday, 27 April. Aid From Junta de Andalucia for Hotels and Tourist Apartments: {Translated in full} The Councilor for Commerce, Javier López, has appeared to report on the new aid from the Junta de Andalucía for hotel establishments, tourist apartments and rural complexes, “with the aim of alleviating the economic consequences of COVID-19 in the sector and contributing to the continuity of the companies. These grants are also compatible with other calls from other administrations that have the same purpose, and your application will be available in the coming days ”.
-“Andalusia has been the only autonomous community that has promoted this type of aid to support these strategic tourist sectors that create employment and wealth,” says the councilor, and details, “so the aid to hotels will be 200 euros for each one of the places available in the hotel establishments that appear in the Andalusian Tourism Registry on March 13, 2020. In the case of tourist apartments, it will be 80 euros for each of the places in these establishments. Finally, in aid to rural tourist complexes, there will be a fixed fee of 3,000 euros ”.
-People and companies that carry out their activity prior to the date of entry into force of Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, by which the state of alarm is declared, may be beneficiaries of the aid; that have their fiscal domicile in Andalusia; that are registered in the Economic Activities Tax, in the case of self-employed SMEs, registration in the Special Social Security Scheme for Self-Employed or Self-Employed Workers; that are registered in the Andalusian Tourism Registry, and that prove the drop in sales or income caused by the negative economic impact caused by the health crisis of at least 20%, in the 2020 financial year. Spanish Politics- Spanish minister and leftist leader receive letters with death threats and bullets: “Your time is running out”, reads the message for Pablo Iglesias of Unidas Podemos. Interior Ministry chief Fernando Grande-Marlaska and the head of the Civil Guard were sent similar packages.
“You have 10 days to resign. The days of laughing at us are over. National Police. Civil Guard. Time is not on your side for the taponazos [very loud gunfire or explosion],” reads an anonymous letter postmarked April 19 and addressed to Grande-Marlaska. Bands & Acts: Please submit your gig promos. Your music is your business, you need to get as much exposure as possible, don’t rely on venues to promote you! Most of those FB posts by venues only have a few likes, if any at all, so obviously are not reaching many people. DigameXtra sends out over 4200 email issues everyday to subscribers, and the website gets another 800 visits per day. That is way better exposure than you are getting in any FB posts!!! Entertainers get to post their shows for free as long as they are subscribed to this newsletter. What are you waiting for? Photo:dgim-studio / Freepik

Covid in Spain- Health reports 10,814 new infections and 132 deaths: {Translation} Updated 22APR21 19:48
The Ministry of Health has reported 10,814 new infections on Thursday and has added 132 deaths to the official count. The cumulative incidence has risen three points to 232 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. In total, 3,456,886 people have been infected and 77,496 have died since the beginning of the pandemic, according to official data provided by the Health Ministry. Some 21.4% of the population has already received at least a first dose of vaccine, 10,141,949 people to be precise. And 7.9% have already received the full course (3,768,015 citizens). In the last 24 hours, 412,155 vaccinations against covid have been administered. Andalusia reduces 58 hospitalized for coronavirus in a single day and lowers its incidence again: {Translation} Updated: 04/22/2021 19:22
-Andalusia is now undoubtedly in the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic. And it is doing so with force in some of the parameters used to measure the course of the epidemiological curve. This is the case of hospitalisations, which are 58 fewer on Thursday than yesterday. Thus, on Thursday there are 1,530 people admitted to the community’s hospitals due to Covid-19.
-However, this sharp decline is not yet reflected in the ICU, where it usually takes longer to see changes in the trend. There, 321 patients were reported on Thursday, seven more than yesterday.
-Coronavirus infections, which on Thursday number 1,884, also point in the right direction. They are almost the same number as on the same day last week, which means that there is no growth. This also comes after several days of decline, something that has been noted in the cumulative incidence of the pandemic (IA).
-Thus, the IA in Andalusia is 251.69 on Thursday, one point less than yesterday. Moreover, this measure of the speed and intensity with which the pandemic is advancing has been falling for almost a week now. It is a trend that can also be observed over 7 days, a parameter where changes in the curve can be seen earlier.
-Thus, the immediate and medium-term future shows a downward curve, which would certify that Andalusia is already in the descent phase of this fourth wave that has had nothing to do with the third, which grew exponentially in a few days.
-In addition, the community has registered 16 deaths this Thursday. This value does show a certain rise, but it is logical. These are the deaths that correspond to the infections reported weeks ago, when the figures were still rising. Wearing a face mask outdoors and then putting it into your pocket when you enter a bar is like wearing a helmet to go for a walk and taking it off when you get on a motorbike: Despite this, it is common to see this paradox in many countries such as Spain, where it is mandatory to wear a face mask outside, but there are exceptions for indoor spaces such as restaurants and offices. But a growing number of leading experts have begun to question these contradictory measures, including Marc Lipsitch, the head of the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at Harvard University in the United States. “I am generally a hawk about maintaining rules with a clear benefit. Outdoor masking has notable costs and really no evidence of benefits,” he wrote on Monday in a message on Twitter. New Week, New Massive FB Hack- Fakebook ‘dangerous vulnerability’ exposes millions of email addresses, AGAIN, and They Admit They Don’t Care!: After the company allegedly dismissed the exploit, a security researcher highlighted a Facebook vulnerability exposing millions of user email addresses.
The anonymous researcher created a video demonstrating a tool that can link Facebook accounts to their email addresses. The tool can process up to five million email addresses per day.
In an email about the leak that Facebook accidentally sent to Dutch publication DataNews, Facebook instructed public relations staff to “frame this as a broad industry issue and normalize the fact that this activity happens regularly.” (Normalize weekly “secure” email dumps?!? -Ed.)
Responding to Ars Technica, who viewed the video, a Facebook spokesperson said, “It appears that we erroneously closed out this bug bounty report before routing to the appropriate team. We appreciate the researcher sharing the information and are taking initial actions to mitigate this issue while we follow up to better understand their findings.”
This “mega-leak” comes a month after a dump of phone numbers belonging to 500 million Facebook users. Facebook has 2.8 billion monthly active users, including many using the iOS app on iPhones and iPads. Phone House Customer Alert! – A cyberattack against Phone House exposes the bank details of millions of Spanish customers: It affects the names, ID numbers, bank accounts, emails, phones, addresses and dates of birth of five million customers, and cybercriminals threaten to publish more if the company does not pay.
Last week, a ransomware- type cyberattack hijacked several databases of the Spanish division of Phone House. The cybercriminals then threatened to publish the data of 13 million clients and company workers if the company did not pay the ransom they demanded to recover them. This Wednesday the Babuk group, which has claimed responsibility for the action, has continued with the extortion and has published on the dark web a part of the data that it claims to have in its possession, about 100 gigs of sensitive information.
If your data is exposed, the experts’ recommendation is to immediately change the passwords of the affected services (and any other in which the same password has been set) and notify your bank of what happened. To check to see if you were included in the data dump visit https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Andalusia adds 20 more deaths to the Covid list: {Translation} Updated:04/21/2021 18:08
-To the long list of deaths caused by Covid in Andalusia – a total of 9,575 – must be added the twenty reported to the Ministry of Health by the Regional Ministry of Health on Wednesday 21 April. Most of these deaths occurred in Seville (six), Malaga (four) and the same number in Granada. Cordoba and Almeria accounted for two, Huelva and Cadiz one and Jaen none.
-On the positive side of this long pandemic, a total of 641,811 full doses of anti-Covid vaccine had been administered yesterday, which represents 7.56% of the total population of Andalusia. Also, in addition to the 451,572 recovered, 3,007 more doses have been administered today.
-Andalusia has seen a drop in the number of people hospitalised with coronavirus on Wednesday 21 April to 1,588, five fewer than the day before but 102 more than last Wednesday, while those admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) have risen to 314, one more in one day and 24 more than a week ago.
-This has been announced by the Junta de Andalucía. The number of hospitalised patients fell after rising by 61 on Tuesday and 75 on Monday, falling by 41 on Sunday, increasing by 12 on Saturday, remaining stable at 1,486 patients for three consecutive days and rising by 13 on Wednesday.
-For their part, ICU patients rose again after increasing by five on Tuesday, six on Monday and eleven on Sunday, falling by four on Saturday, increasing by two on Friday and three on Thursday, and falling by seven on the previous Wednesday.
-The region is still far from the peaks of hospitalisations recorded in the third wave on 2 February (4,980), in the second on 10 November (3,478) and in the first on 30 March 2020 (2,708).
-With regard to ICUs, Andalusia also remains below the peak of the third wave reached on 7 February (735), of the second on 18 November (528) and of the first on 30 March 2020 (439). Nearly half of 70-79 age group in Spain have received first dose of Covid-19 vaccine: The pace of the vaccination drive is expected to accelerate after the EMA ruled the benefits of the Janssen medication outweigh the risks.
According to the latest report by the Spanish Health Ministry, released Tuesday, 45.4% of people in the 70-79 age group have received at least one dose of the vaccine. This is more than double the figure reported last week, when it stood at 21.4%. Up until recently, vaccination of this demographic had been sidelined: the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccine was prioritized for the 80-and-over age group and the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca shots was restricted to people aged between 60 and 69 due to concerns over very rare blood clot cases in younger patients. Veterinarians recommend mass vaccination of cats against covid-19: {Translation} Dogs and ferrets should also be immunized against the coronavirus as soon as anticovid drugs are authorized. Studies show “severe lung damage” in infected animals.
-The covid-19 monitoring group of the Veterinary College Organisation (OCV) has recommended this Monday the mass vaccination of cats against the coronavirus, in the first instance, and then of dogs and ferrets, when vaccines for animals are authorised.
-The CPVO has advanced that research is underway in several centres linked to the Complutense University of Madrid aimed at obtaining a vaccine for animals, especially cats, since, “despite the scarcity of symptoms manifested, in some cases detected necropsies reflect severe lung damage”.
-“The work allows a certain margin of optimism regarding the arrival of the vaccine, because in carnivores, as it is a very immunogenic virus, the process does not involve major complications,” they said. Tennis News- Barcelona Open: Top seed Rafael Nadal was pushed to the brink by qualifier Ilya Ivashka on Wednesday, but the 11-time champion rallied from a set down to kick off his Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell campaign with a victory on his namesake Centre Court. The 34-year-old Spaniard raised his level after dropping a tight opening set, roaring back to a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory after two hours and 20 minutes on Pista Rafa Nadal.

From Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga
Our Nursery is open by appointment depending on the current travel restrictions. Please email or call first. We have Moringa seedlings, Organic Moringa powder and Comfrey plants. We also have some local trees and some exotic trees from Africa.
Vetiver is a rapid growing and non-invasive sterile clump grass with a height of 1-2 metres and a root system of 3-4 metres in depth. We have been providing Vetiver throughout the EU for almost 10 years now. We are located in Sayalonga where we can plant year round but our best results by far start in February. The reason is that Vetiver is indigenous to India and Vetiver loves the heat of the summer. Use Vetiver cuttings as mulch around all of your fruit trees. Decomposing Vetiver improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away all while helping to maintain soil moisture.
Vetiver is a nutritious and replenishable animal fodder. Horses and pigs love it. We use it in our chicken pens replacing hay because it stops mites.
In the 2 photos below you will see land prepared for Vetiver and the results 2 years later.
We also use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive ornamental hedge.
Here is a link to a short video showing the results.
https://youtu.be/rjTmb_LL2uo
We suggest planting now, as this is the BEST time of the year to plant.

Sanidad maintains the vaccination plan and will not postpone the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna: {Translated summary} Updated: 04/20/2021, 20: 33
The Ministry of Health will maintain its vaccination strategy and will not postpone the second dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. It voted in favor of maintaining it and against immunizing more population with a single dose. Scientific opinion is divided on the advisability of distancing the shots to have more people, at least, with one dose. These 98 Andalusian towns face perimeter or non-essential activity restrictions: Andalucía will, from Friday, 15 April, have a total of 98 municipalities with perimeter lockdowns and 33 of them will also face the suspension of all non-essential activity, for exceeding the rate of 500 and 1,000 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively, in the last 14 days.
This represents an increase of 12 municipalities with restrictions compared to the previous week. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/local/202104/15/these-andalusian-towns-face-20210415185440.html

No Expert Committee meeting this week- The Advisory Council on High Impact Public Health Alerts will most likely meet next Tuesday: {Translated in full} Updated: 20·04·21, 16:04
-The Andalusian government has decided to postpone until next week the meeting scheduled for tomorrow of the committee of experts that takes decisions on the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, officially known as the Advisory Council for High Impact Public Health Alerts.
-Sources from the Andalusian government have confirmed to Efe the delay of the meeting scheduled for Wednesday 21 April, as announced by the Andalusian Regional Minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, who said that this decision could be taken because it was possible an improvement in the trend of contagions was possible.
-The most likely date for the meeting of the expert committee is Tuesday 27 April, according to sources from the Andalusian regional government.
-The minister said that the committee of experts meets “when important decisions have to be taken” and added that it was perhaps preferable to delay this week’s meeting in order to “keep a watchful and expectant eye” on developments in the Andalusian community.
-Andalusia has been in a situation of extreme risk to control the pandemic since last Sunday because it has exceeded 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last fourteen days, and yesterday, Monday, the accumulated incidence was 263.7 cases.
-However, the Minister stressed that the incidence at seven days was lower, with 115 cases, which could mean a trend “to improve” as well as a “positive projection”. Photo:L.O. Source, Spanish: https://www.laopiniondemalaga.es/andalucia/2021/04/20/habra-comite-expertos-semana-48509047.html

Spain proposes delay of second Pfizer and Moderna jabs: Spain’s Ministry of Health is proposing to postpone the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for up to eight weeks among people under 80 years of age to increase the number of people vaccinated – even if the protection is not complete. This would be in line with the strategy being used in other countries such as Israel and the UK. Germany starts demanding first fiscal adjustments from Spain: In a recommendation to the OECD, Berlin asks for cuts “sooner rather than later” despite widespread global support for continued stimulation of coronavirus-hit economies.
In a report from Germany to which EL PAÍS has had access, its position on Spain is that the drop in public revenue and the rollout of stimulus measures will leave Spanish public debt at around 120% of gross domestic product (GDP) for several years to come. This will leave very little room for fiscal measures when the next crisis hits, and even more so if interest rates start to go up again, as the Bundesbank is beginning to suggest.
The main thing, says Germany, is for Spain to offer “an ambitious and credible” commitment to reduce public debt, as a sign to the markets. (Remember what happened to Greece, when another weak economy was pushed over the brink by the EU? -Ed.)
Even the most orthodox German economists fail to fully understand the rush to demand adjustments “sooner rather than later” from an economy that has been so deeply damaged by the pandemic as Spain’s has. “It would be a blunt political and economic mistake,” said Jakob F. Kirkegaard, of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. “It is absolutely premature of Germany to pressure for adjustments, there is simply no reason for it at the present moment. It would be much better to pressure for Spain to present a recovery plan with powerful reforms, and for Germany to try to present a good plan that will serve as an example of how to spend the European funds properly.” Full article: https://english.elpais.com/economy_and_business/2021-04-20/germany-starts-demanding-first-fiscal-adjustments-from-spain.html

Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Driven Censorship Blunders- Reckless DMCA Takedown Purges Legitimate Websites from Google Search: Several legitimate websites had their homepages removed from Google simply because they somehow reference the word “live” or “living.” This includes the homepage of Live Nation Asia, the Living Architecture website, as well as the homepage of the UK technology company Living Map.
For example, NASA’s live streaming and multimedia pages are targeted. The same is true for Al Jazeera’s live streaming site, as well as the BBC’s page that allows people to stream Radio One.
Needless to say, these are all obvious errors that should have been avoided if there was some human oversight. It also shows how risky relying on ‘automated filters’ and ‘takedown bots’ can be.

Football News- Madrid court bans UEFA, FIFA and LaLiga from taking action against Superliga: {Translated, 1st paragraph only} Madrid’s 17th Commercial Court this morning banned FIFA, UEFA, LaLiga and the football federations from adopting any measure that “prohibits, restricts, limits or conditions in any way, directly or indirectly” the launch of the European Super League, the new competition promoted by 12 major European clubs. The court decision, which has been taken at the request of the Super League itself, orders these institutions to refrain from taking “any sanctioning or disciplinary measure” against the clubs that join the new competition, nor against their players and managers. It also vetoes the exclusion of the clubs promoting the Super League “from any of the international or national club competitions in which they have been participating regularly”, such as the Champions League. Football News- Chelsea and Manchester City to withdraw from European Super League: Chelsea and Manchester City are to withdraw from the European Super League. The clubs on Sunday were among 12 teams, including six from the Premier League, to join as founder members.
Chelsea’s move comes amid a backdrop that saw significant concerns raised in a meeting between the players and club’s chairman Buck on Monday. Buck had convened them to outline what was, at that point, the club’s motivation behind joining the Super League but several international players spoke up and stated in no uncertain terms that they would not countenance a future in which they were barred from playing at World Cups, European Championships and other major tournaments. Malaga Animal Centre Hits Target of Putting Down No Abandoned Animals: The Municipal Animal Health Centre’s figures showed it had reached its commitment to putting down no abandoned pets. Only two animals had to be put down during the first three months of the year, both for illness reasons. Councillor for Environmental Sustainability Gemma del Corral said the figures were the result of working with charities and improved public awareness. The centre says it now only euthanises animals for health reasons. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/04/20/malaga-animal-centre-hits-target-of-putting-down-no-abandoned-animals/

Print with Chromebook?: Last November I replaced my old laptop (Windows 10) with a new Chromebook, unfortunately on December 31st the Google Cloud Print service was discontinued. I have looked at various WiFi (all in one) printers – but I am unsure which one to buy, as the info/details/packaging does not say “suitable for Chrome OS”, and the on-line reviews vary. If anyone knows of a suitable WiFi printer/copier that works well with a chromebook – would they please share?

Andalusia adds 2,034 coronavirus infections in two days and points to the curve beginning to bend: {Translation} Updated: 04/19/2021 17:44
-Andalusia has had 2,034 cases of coronavirus infection this Monday. However, this figure does not only correspond to the last 24 hours but, as confirmed by the Regional Ministry of Health, corresponds to Sunday and Monday. Thus the average is 1,017 infections each day.
-Compared day by day, that’s 968 fewer than last Sunday and almost 200 fewer than last Monday.
-With these data, Andalusia seems to confirm that it is beginning to bend the curve of the fourth wave of the pandemic. However, this is an aspect that must be taken with great caution because, it is worth remembering, this same sensation occurred at the beginning of the second wave and when the October long weekend passed, the data shot up.
-However, the situation is different now. Many of the most vulnerable people are already vaccinated and, moreover, the restrictions were much less relaxed at Easter than at Christmas, when the health crisis curve grew explosively.
-This moderation of the curve of the fourth wave is reflected in the cumulative incidence (AI), which has risen from 259 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants to 263. The rise is very slight – only 4 points – especially when one takes into account that this weekend was two weeks after the end of Easter and, therefore, should have seen the greatest effects on the increase in infections due to the relaxation of the measures for these holidays.
-More relevant right now seems to be the seven-day IA, which reflects changes in the trend earlier. Here we can see that on Friday the IA was 115.5 and this Monday it is 115.1. The decrease, although slight, points to a possible new course of the wave, or at least a plateau.
-The number of deaths, meanwhile, continues to show no growth. This is logical because it is in the last measures where changes can be seen. Thus, the Regional Ministry of Health has reported eleven deaths in the last two days, an average of 5.5 each day. These figures are in line with those recorded in the last two weeks.
-Meanwhile, the number of people hospitalised on Monday has risen to 1,532. This is 75 more than yesterday, a figure that is compatible with the plateau scenario or change of trend that has not yet reached those admitted for coronavirus. In any case, those hospitalised for Covid-19 are also growing in the ICU, where there are 308 this Monday, six more than yesterday. Now open with wheelchair routes- Molino de Inca Botanical Garden in Torremolinos: Now that the works to allow accessibility to all at Molino de Inca Botanical Garden in Torremolinos have been completed, Mayor José Ortiz officially reopened it.

“It is one of the oldest mills in Torremolinos, today turned into a botanical garden of more than 40,000 square metres that just a week ago obtained the seal of safe tourism from the Institute for Tourist Quality in Spain (ICTE).” Photo:Torremolinos Council. Consumer group warns of ‘alarming’ increase in gas water heater complaints: The Union of Consumers in Malaga has warned of an “alarming” increase in complaints related to the repair and installation of gas water heaters in homes.

Football News- UEFA confirms 36-team Champions League reform with single league format replacing group stage: The new plans come into effect in 2024.
The traditional group stage concept which has seen four teams compete in eight pools with the top two qualifying for the last 16 will be scrapped in favour of a single league including 36 teams.
All of the fixtures will be drawn out of a pot going forward, with seeding driven by the UEFA coefficient, and the Europa League and Conference League will follow the same format.
Each team will play a total of 10 games home and away, with the top eight automatically qualifying for the last 16 and those finishing between ninth and 24th to compete in two-legged play-offs to decide who else makes the knockout stage. Social Media Built For Conservatives- Free Speech But No Cussin’ Allowed: Mike Lindell’s new free-speech social-media site called “Frank” is set to debut this week, according to the inventor of MyPillow.
While the website will let users speak their minds and post videos on topics banned by Twitter and Fakebook, some restrictions will apply. Lindell said: “You don’t get to use the four swear words. The C-word, the N-word, the F-word or God’s name in vain. Free speech is not pornography, free speech isn’t ‘I am going to kill you,’ it is very well defined in our mission statement.”

SPOOKY SPAM- Internet Getting Stranger All The Time: I wanted to let readers know they are not alone if they have noticed an uptick in spooky spam. More spam now addresses you by name, and often mentions both websites you visit as well as the names of your Contacts, possibly pretending to be a Contact. Spam producing is moving to super-computers running Artificial Intelligence (AI), and AI is far more clever than yesterdays spammers on desktop computers, and learns far faster than humans! I expect we’ll see much more of this personalized spam in the coming months.
AI gets the website info from your cookies (see article in section below for more on cookies) and network traffic logs (unless you use a paid VPN).
How do they get the names of your contacts? Most major cloud services, email servers, messenger services and social media hosts have been hacked. Some seem to get hacked monthly. These huge data dumps get sold for a while, then get released for free on the Dark Web.
Now I am going to let you in on a computer industry secret…Many of these big data “hacks” are not attacks by outside forces, even if that is what big tech wants you to believe. These are often inside jobs! Usually it’s a disgruntled ex-employee who still has working admin passwords. Also, many tech workers, as a sort of insurance policy, create a “trapdoor” in projects to ensure continued access to “their projects” in the event they get locked out by their managers. This allows them to retaliate against perceived unfair treatment; companies own the inventions of their employees, who may feel they have not been fairly compensated for a popular, huge-profit generating product they developed, and often get fired when saying so.  This also guaranties a steady stream of network weaknesses for real hackers to exploit. This is an embarrassment for the tech giants so they focus the blame on hackers. -Ed.

Andalusia reduces 41 hospitalized for coronavirus in a single day: {Translated full article} Updated: 04/18/2021 17: 31
-Andalusia has reported this Sunday 1,457 people hospitalised for coronavirus. That is 41 less than yesterday, when the community recorded 1,498. Moreover, that figure means returning to the numbers of a week ago and is the biggest drop in a single day for almost a month.
-In the ICU there is not such good news. According to reports from the Regional Ministry of Health and Families, Andalusia has 302 hospitalised patients in intensive care this Sunday, eleven more than yesterday, Saturday. The number of people in the ICU for coronavirus has been stagnant for almost two weeks at around 300, a figure that has been around since 5 April.
-As for those vaccinated, the community already has 7 percent of the population immunised against the coronavirus. There are 591,004 people. In addition, 1,017,000 people have at least one dose, i.e. 12 percent of the census.
-Thus, 19 percent of the population is already protected to some degree against the coronavirus thanks to the vaccines, whose campaign began at the end of December last year.
-To this figure must be added those who have passed the disease and generated antibodies. According to health data, these are 440,891 Andalusians, or 5.2 percent of the population. This means that 24.2 percent of Andalusians, or one in four, already have some kind of coverage against Covid-19 infection. Seville, Córdoba, Granada and Almería close their bars again today at eight in the afternoon: {Translated, summary} Updated 04/18/2021, 12: 33
-Four Andalusian capitals, Seville, Córdoba, Granada and Almería, will have to close their bars at 8:00 p.m. from this Sunday, April 18, due to the alert level 3.1 or 4.1 in force as a result of the critical situation epidemiological derived from Covid-19 after the decisions adopted by the territorial public health alert committees that met last Thursday in the eight provinces to update the current restrictions by municipalities.
-In addition, the capacity in hotels and restaurants for these cities is limited to 50% indoors on level 3 and 30% on level 4, while on terraces 100% is allowed on level 3 and a maximum of 75% on level 4.
-On the contrary, the other four Andalusian capitals – Cádiz, Huelva, Jaén and Málaga – will maintain the opening hours of bars until 10:30 p.m. by continuing at alert level 2. Andalucía Proposes The Compulsory Sterilisation Of Pets:
In a highly controversial move, the Junta de Andalucía has drawn up a preliminary draft of its new animal welfare law which would require pet owners to sterilise all companion animals. The legislation has been welcomed by animal welfare societies and shelters, who want to see the “establishment of guarantees for the sterilization of animals and their purchase, breeding and responsible sale to avoid overpopulation, abandonment and, ultimately, their sacrifice.”
The new draft proposal states that “companion animals that are the object of sale, transfer or donation must be previously sterilised before reaching one year of age and, preferably, before their first heat.” The legislation proposes stricter registering methods for breeders and explicitly prohibits the “reproduction, breeding and sale of companion animals by private persons outside the breeding and sale centres that meet the legal requirements, as well as their transfer or donation without being previously identified and registered in the name of the transmitting person”. DoctorLaptop’s Tips #89- What are Computer Cookies?
-A computer cookie is a small text file that contains a unique ID tag, placed on the user’s computer by a website. In this file, various information can be stored, and the data retrieved by the cookie’s creator so you can be “tracked”.
-Some cookies are harmless, but others remain active even on websites that they didn’t originate from, gathering information about your behavior- what sites you visit and what you click on and search for. These are called third-party persistent cookies or, more colloquially, tracking cookies. These also can collect your IP address. This allows them to search for other accounts using the same IP address. They then know those accounts are also yours, or those of other people who share your internet connection. This is one way you get spam emails that are related to things you searched for on Google! Tracking users is actually much more invasive, but that is too techy to explain here. (For more info web-search “browser fingerprinting”.)
-Tracking cookies are usually used for advertising purposes, retargeting in particular. Retargeting is a tactic that often relies on tracking cookies to show ads to people who have previously visited a specific site or shown interest in a particular product. If you’ve ever bought or even looked at a product on Amazon and then started seeing ads for similar products on other websites, you’ve been retargeted.
-Can I block all cookies? Yes, but if you do it will break some websites.
-Should I clean out my cookies regularly? Yes. Go to your browser settings, find the Cookies Settings and click the button to delete cookies.
-What else can I do to prevent cookies tracking me?
-Use good ad blocker and tracker blocker add-ons for your browsers, I use both uBlock Origin and Ghostery. These may break some websites so be sure you know how to turn these on and off. If a website insists you turn off your ad blocker for access, it is saying you must allow it to sell your data to gain access. That’s the price for “free” content.
-Use different browsers for different tasks. For example, use Chrome for banking and shopping, Firefox for email and messaging, and Edge for social media and TV.
-Clean all your browsers of adware and rogue cookies at the same time using the free ADWCleaner tool from Malwarebytes. Download and run, very simple to use. https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
-Use a reputable, paid VPN. Free VPNs only offer basic protection as they do NOT encrypt your data, they simply mask your IP address, and that mask is NOT highly secure. For example, Free VPNs are not very good for accessing BBC. BBC is very good at identifying masked IP address and extracting the real IP address. Paid VPVs can often go undetected by BBC for weeks or months, because the true IP address and all data are encrypted.

Churches & Worship

EVANGELICAL CHURCH (services in English language)
Each Sunday at 11:00 am we meet for worship at the Christian meeting Hall in Calle Ros Alfe´rez 7. Torre Del Mar. (not far behind the Catholic Church) We are an Evangelical Church, bible believing Christian’s coming together for live worship, prayer, and sharing our faith. All who love Christ are welcome and all who want to know more about the Christian faith are equally welcome. The meetings are friendly, joyful, reverent and orderly. Our one united desire is to glorify God.

El Puente Christian Fellowship – Sunday Service
El Puente Christian Fellowship is a loving, multi-national, Bible believing community of Christ, who meet each Sunday at 11 am to worship The Lord. We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by one of the Elders or a visiting speaker.
The church meeting hall is situated underneath Maroma Inmobiliaria Puente Don Manuel, Cruce de Periana – 29713.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/El-Puente-Christian-Fellowship-105285888299225/ or please contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com. For those who cannot join us in person, we aim to stream Sunday services via the Facebook page (subject to a good internet connection!).
