AAR Dog of the Week  

 

Warning if Walking Your Dog in Competa-Acebuchal

Hi dog-lovers,

Just a warning, unfortunately my dog – Djune- was bitten in National Park near Competa last Wednesday evening.

Haven’t seen it myself, but most probably it were one of the 2 dogs of (name removed due to Internet Defamation Laws).

they are living near Fabrica de la Luz (Competa-Accebuchal)

2 big dogs, blond/ brown fur, (not sure what breed they are) they are mostly walking freely in the park,

and laying often near the Fabrica de la Luz recreation area.

So please take care with your dogs in that area.

The dogs are not that cute and tranquil as they look like.

I am a Belgian woman living in Torrox Park since October 2015,together with my husband.

My native language is Dutch.

Furthermore I speak French: Full professional proficiency, English: professional working proficiency, German: professional working proficiency, Spanish: limited working proficiency.

Since we arrived here, I studied Spanish in the “Academia de Idiomas Torrox” in Torrox Pueblo and since September 2016 with professor Miguel Angel, who teaches Spanish intermediate level,  behind Lew’s bar at Torrox Costa. These courses are organised for free, by el Ayuntamiento de Torrox. I have a new inscription for Spanish lessons there from September on, and will be in the European language level : B1.

I have a university degree “Master in the law” and a teaching degree in the law and languages. I worked 30 years as a jurist, as a human resources manager for 2 years,  and two years as a teacher, teaching  Dutch to French speaking children from the ages of 4- 10, in 6 different schools, 18 classes ,more than 200 children.  Normally I can teach  in high schools and to adults with my teaching degree. I did so in my period of practical training in 2013.

Now I am able to express my self to the Spanish people, which I think is essential living in Spain, I would like to work with a contract -Part time is fine by me, seasonal work is OK.

I was thinking about working in the tourist sector, for instance  being a tour guide on a bus, or working in a travel agency, as I speak more than one language, or making spoken/written translations.  Other suggestions are welcome.

As I take the bus for now, I am willing to travel between Torrox and Malaga or Nerja.

Recommendation Thai-Pas- Exceptional Service

We had a meal at Thai- pas in Torrox last night and ordered from the new menu. When the dishes came they were delicious but far too spicy for me.

As I was unable to eat the meal it was replaced with a choice from the normal menu at no cost.

As it was my fault I was very impressed with the service.

15th June at  7 pm  the Club international de Nerja – Calle San Juan 42, Nerja there will be a a presentation by Isolde of Añil y Verde who is organising an Organic Food Cooperative along with a regular local producers organic food market.

There will also be a 3 day event from 16 to 18 of June with a market, music, entertainment and much more.

If a full name and license number is provided then readers can verify with the licence issuer the current qualifications of the submitter and see if they have received any disciplinary actions.
