May we take this opportunity to thank all of our visitors for their continued support during this unsettled year, and to wish all of our stall holders, visitors and customers, a very safe Christmas and a settled New Year.

DoctorLaptop’s Laptop Tuneup Special: Now until the new year, a full maintenance service for only €50.
If you rely on your laptop for school, shopping or communications and want it running at peak performance, an annual professional servicing is necessary. This is especially true in these current times where people have their laptops on all day. You wouldn’t drive your car till it runs out of oil before servicing it, would you? If you did, the repair would be far more than the cost of the oil change you neglected. Same thing with computers, and laptops in particular.
I do the most comprehensive cleaning and tune-up possible: After an internal cleaning I verify all System files replacing any found to be corrupt, test all hardware and do hard disk sector repairs if needed, use 5 tool malware/adware/spyware removal protocol, update Windows+all drivers+programs, and finally optimize your settings for fastest overall performance. I use a special on-line scanner that will detect and remove malware that normal anti-virus programs cannot detect!
Job usually completed overnight. If you have multiple hard drives, or the hard drive is 1Tb or larger add €20.
Heavily infected comps or those showing error messages need a repair, not this maintenance service.

UK warns people with serious allergies to avoid Pfizer vaccine after two adverse reactions: Pfizer has said people with a history of severe adverse allergic reactions to vaccines or the candidate’s ingredients were excluded from their late stage trials, which is reflected in the MHRA’s emergency approval protocol.
The new MHRA guidance, sent out to health professionals, said a much broader segment should not take the vaccine.
“Any person with a history of a significant allergic reaction to a vaccine, medicine or food (such as previous history of anaphylactoid reaction or those who have been advised to carry an adrenaline autoinjector) should not receive the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine,” it said.
It also said resuscitation facilities should be available for all vaccinations. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-britain-vaccine/uk-warns-people-with-serious-allergies-to-avoid-pfizer-vaccine-after-two-adverse-reactions-idUSKBN28J1D1

Police in Malaga warn about rise in fake IT technician fraudsters:
At first, they say that they are from a reputable international company, offering to fix problems and install antivirus software.
Once the victim gives permission for remote access and makes a payment, the criminals then access passwords and other sensitive data.
Police recommend not to trust any call of this nature. If, however, you fall victim to such a scam, they say you should contact your bank and cancel all payments.
(Legit big tech companies like Microsoft/Apple/Google will never call you without you having contacted them first. If you get a call like this, just hang up. If you fall for the scam and allow them remote access, your computer has very likely been infected. Stop using it, and get it to DoctorLaptop (tel 675 993 069) for disinfection. -Ed.) Reference:

Amazon UK Info For Spanish Customers Post BREXIT: I received this today and thought I’d share it with the readers. -Ed.
As you have placed an order on Amazon.co.uk and selected an EU delivery address in the past, we wanted to let you know that from 1 January 2021, when the Brexit transition period ends, you’ll see some changes when you shop on Amazon.co.uk and select an EU delivery address. These changes could include:
– VAT (or the regional equivalent, if applicable, https://www.amazon.co.uk/vatrates) being due in the country of delivery, or your package may be subject to customs duties, taxes and fees (“Import Fees”)
– the collection of VAT, or an estimation of Import Fees (“Import Fee Deposit” https://www.amazon.co.uk/ifd), which may result in a price change at checkout.
We will continue to accept eligible returns. If the reason for return is the result of an error (e.g. if the item is defective / damaged / incorrect), any costs incurred for the return will be paid by Amazon. Otherwise, any costs incurred for the return (including transport costs, as well as any associated import fees or customs where applicable) will be payable by the person returning the goods
We hope this helps and we see you again soon.

Spanish IPTV streaming giant Movidy has closed itself down with immediate effect: The platform was one of Spain’s most-visited sites, period, but following a sad medical diagnosis in the summer, the owner says he is now too ill to continue. Venice Flooded as Multi-Billion Dam System Fails to Activate:
The Italian lagoon city saw waters rise to 1.37 metres (4.5 ft), causing floods on its central St Mark’s Square which lies a metre below sea level. Water poured into the iconic basilica, and Venetians were forced to don their familiar rubber boots to wade into the rising water, known locally as ‘acqua alta’.
Shopkeepers erected wooden panels over their doorways to prevent damage to their wares, similar to scenes in November 2019 when Venice hit its highest flood levels since record began. The peak of the Geminid rain will occur during the nights of December 12 and 13, while in the dawn of the 14th this month in the territories of Chile and Argentina a total solar eclipse of about 2 minutes will be observed, and seven days later Jupiter and Saturn will be at the minimum distance between them. The new measures against the coronavirus in Andalusia come into force on Saturday Dec. 12:

{Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es}

The Board is going to extend the current measures and restrictions against the coronavirus in Andalusia until the weekend. It is something that was already known and advanced by ABC last week. The novelty is that, as announced by the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, the restrictions that now prevail – closure of the hotel trade and non-essential trade at six in the afternoon ; curfew ; and perimeter closure of the municipalities – will be valid only until Friday 11.

In this way, the new restrictions for Christmas – which the Andalusian president will announce this Thursday after meeting with the group of experts on the coronavirus pandemic – would come into effect on Saturday, December 12.

“Tomorrow we will analyze with the experts the evolution of the virus during these two weeks and we will announce the new limitations”, Moreno has indicated. ” The objective will continue to be saving lives and keeping the situation under control at Christmas, ” added the Chairman of the Board.

Art Room – Original Paintings, Prints and Ceramics Gallery
Stuck for Christmas present ideas?
With the current travel restrictions are you stuck for Christmas present ideas?
We have Gift Vouchers available for Christmas, digital or printed to the value of your choosing. Just let me know the value and while municipal travel restrictions last, I can either send you a digital file for you to print or send on, or I can post it to you. The gallery is in Canillas de Albaida, so if you live in Competa, Archez or Salares I can meet you at the border of the 2 villages. Or if you know which print, ceramic or piece of art you want I can meet you with that too.
-After restrictions are lifted or if you live in Canillas you will be very welcome to come and visit our gallery any day of the week from 11.00am to 7.00pm by appointment only. Masks and social distancing will be observed and the gallery is well ventilated with sanitizer available.
-We have original paintings on canvas in oils and acrylics, paintographs (photographs made to look like paintings), prints of paintings (framed or unframed) and ceramic bowls, plates, figures, tiles and plaques.

Solidarity Concert in the Church of El Salvador Nerja: “More than 140 families in a situation of request for help due to serious economic difficulties due to business closures due to CORONAVIRUS”
Reading this news deeply moved us and made us take out and clean our tools – art and culture – stored since March, and get ‘down to work’.
The orchestral project “Málaga Camerata” arises from the concern of young musicians to create a space where they can enhance their aspects as ensemble instrumentalists, within an orderly and professional work environment.
Since its foundation, it has been made up of a stable staff of about 20 members. The number is due precisely to the fact that there is a special interest in reproducing classicism and pre-romantic music, with the greatest possible similarity in terms of training.
We know that we cannot help everyone; But we can get 20 of these families to celebrate Christmas this year as well. It is a challenge and it is possible, with your help 20 families can!
Day and hour: December 20 – 1’30pm
Place: Iglesia de El Salvador – Nerja
Address: Paseo de El Balcón de Europa

Pre-planning your funeral is a thoughtful and responsible way to show you care about your family.
Funerals are no easy task. There are numerous considerations to factor in, including logistics, food and drink, casket purchase and burial grounds. A loved one’s death brings immense emotional strain to any family, and the question of financing and arrangements only exacerbates the stress.

For Sale: A rare, vintage Landola Electro-Acoustic Guitar handmade in Finland, with an Arbiter guitar stand and American “Superior” gig bag. The guitar was bought new and is in excellent condition, the label in the sound-hole says, “Landola Handmade in Finland: Model No DJ23; serial number 3-536180.
The frets and fingerboard are in very good condition, with a nice comfortable action. The headstock is good and the original enclosed tuners all work as they should. It has an internal pickup under the saddle connected via a strap-pin lead socket, but I should add that I wasn’t in a band. The guitar wasn’t transported about and stayed in my house, so there are no nasty scratches or dings. And some of Landola’s models were sold without a scratchboard aka pickguard, as in this case.
It comes with an unused Zoom 505 Guitar multi-effects processor, complete with instructions and in its original box, a rarely used Fender Bullet practice amplifier in good condition, except for a bit of rust on the chrome corners and carrying strap handle and connection leads.
If possible I’d like to sell it as a complete package in the region of €390, but I’m open to a reasonable offer.
George Munday, Frigiliana Campo.

The curve of infections due to coronavirus in Andalusia falls for the fifth consecutive day: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es}
Updated: 08/12/2020 20:03
The contagion curve of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Andalusia continues to decline, according to the latest data published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health and Families. For the fifth consecutive day, the number of new positive cases falls in the autonomous community and represents a third of the one reached last Sunday.
Specifically, in the last 24 hours, 434 new infections have been detected measured as positive PDIA (Active Infection Diagnostic Tests), which include all cases of Covid-19 with active infection confirmed by PCR technique or rapid antigen tests. It is the lowest daily figure since August. Last Sunday, 1,286 new cases were diagnosed.
According to the last part of the Ministry of Health, have been registered 33 new deaths in the last day (11 in Cádiz, the highest provincial figure), and 3,815 people affected by the pandemic have been discharged.
Regarding hospitalizations: There have been 30 new admissions and there are 26 more patients in the Intensive Care Units of Andalusian health centers due to Covid-19. These data correspond to 7:00 am on Tuesday , December 8.
The cumulative incidence in the community stands at 204.26 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last fourteen days, which places it among the Spanish regions with the lowest index .
Accumulated data: The data accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic offers the following radiography of the autonomous community: 240,049 infected people diagnosed by PCR or antigen test; 21,849 of these people have required hospitalization; 1,990 have had to be treated in ICU; 4,424 have died; and to date, 152,401 patients have been discharged from the region.
The evolution of the curves of infections, hospitalizations and ICU admissions during the holiday weekend that ends today will be one of the relevant indicators that will be on the table at the meeting Thursday, December 10, at the Palace of San Telmo of the committee of experts that advises the Junta de Andalucía on the evolution of the pandemic.
After this new technical session, it is expected that the Executive chaired by Juanma Moreno will reveal the restrictive measures of mobility for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve based on the level of risk that the statistics show.
Hospitalizations by province: Cádiz has been the Andalusian province with the most cases positive diagnosed in the last 24 hours (148), followed by Jaén (66) and Córdoba (49). In the rest, the number of new positives falls below 40: Seville (39), Huelva (39), Malaga (35), Almería (34) and Granada (24).
The Ministry of Health and Families reports that, currently, 1,546 patients confirmed with Covid-19 remain admitted to Andalusian hospitals, of which 340 are in the ICU.
By provinces: in Almería (111 hospitalizations, of which 37 in ICU), Cádiz (250 hospitalizations, of which 45 in ICU), Córdoba (138 hospitalizations, of which 31 in ICU), Granada (326 hospitalizations, of which than 84 in ICU), Huelva (103 hospitalizations, of which 17 in ICU), Jaén (176 hospitalizations, of which 32 in ICU), Malaga (231 hospitalizations, of which 33 in ICU) and Seville (211 hospitalizations, of which 61 in ICU). Ten minute “rapid” Covid tests will be distributed to 22,000 pharmacies across Spain, after the Puente de Constitución ends on Tuesday December 8th: The test is simple and only requires a finger prick and drop of blood to work. Results of the test can be shown in just 10 minutes. The estimated cost of each test will be €25. So you thought the EU Covid Recovery Funds Package for Spain was a done deal? Not so fast, there are strings attached:
Stirring memories of the Greek bailout, the European Commission wants Spain to address its unresolved structural problems on three fronts – pensions, jobs and market unity – and it is demanding to see a credible and coherent plan setting out Madrid’s reform agenda as part of the deal to release a recently approved package of European stimulus aid.
Instead of seeking to impose reforms, it is asking countries to approve structural changes in exchange for a flood of money included in Next Generation EU, a European recovery fund aimed at addressing the fallout of the coronavirus crisis that will allocate €750 billion in total, half of it in grants. Spain has secured €140 billion of that amount, making it one of the biggest beneficiaries, if it can satisfy the EU’s conditions. IKEA Will No Longer Print Its Legendary Catalog: It’s a sad day for folks who look forward to holding a well-designed product guide for Swedish furniture in their meat hands. On Monday, IKEA announced that it will cease publication of its beloved catalog after 70 years of annual editions.
In a statement, IKEA Managing Director Konrad Grüss said that the decision was “emotional but rational” as customer interest in the print catalog has declined and shoppers seek out digital alternatives for inspiration. Grüss said that the just-released 2021 catalog will be the final edition of what has been the furniture giant’s primary marketing tool for a generation. PHOTO:Ikea Museum. Full article:

Sweden’s Covid infection rate soars above Britain, Germany and Spain: Lockdown is finally looming in Sweden with coronavirus infection rates now more than double that of Britain, Germany or Spain and its death rate once again the highest among Nordic nations.
Some parts of Sweden have infection rates similar to the worst hotspots in Europe, and cases have yet to start falling after the second wave as they have in Britain, France and many other European countries.
After Sweden’s death rate fell to similar levels to Denmark, Norway and Finland over the summer, it is now once again the highest of the four, with 1,000 new deaths recorded in the last month. EU sets out search ranking guidelines for Google, Microsoft, other platforms: Google’s online search practices have landed it total fines of more than 8 billion euros ($9.71 billion) over the period 2017-19 from EU antitrust regulators who found it had unfairly pushed its own products to the disadvantage of competitors.
The Commission said the guidelines require online platforms to identify the algorithmic parameters that determine ranking and to share them with companies.
“These guidelines set the standard for algorithmic ranking transparency and will increase fairness in the online platform economy, which drives innovation and welfare for millions of Europeans,” European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager said in a statement.
Vestager will on Dec. 15 present draft rules to rein in tech giants, setting out a list of dos and don’ts and increasing their responsibility to take down illegal and harmful content from their platforms, with fines and other sanctions to encourage compliance. Hungary, Poland Face EU Ultimatum to Lift Veto in Next Hours:
(Bloomberg) Hungary and Poland must offer a clear signal that they’ll lift their veto over the European Union’s jointly financed stimulus plan by Tuesday or risk losing billions of euros in aid, officials warned.
A senior diplomat in Brussels said that in the absence of a breakthrough, the EU will turn to ‘Plan B’, launching the economic recovery fund while excluding the two holdouts. The virus recovery fund can still be launched without Hungarian and Polish support. Doing so, however, could take months. Bob Dylan Sells Entire Catalog of Songs to Universal Music Publishing for Over $300,000,000: The song-catalog bonanza of 2020 just hit a peak that is not likely to be topped: Universal Music Publishing Group has acquired Bob Dylan’s entire catalog of songs in a blockbuster agreement encompassing more than 600 copyrights spanning 60 years, ranging from 1962’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” to this year’s “Murder Most Foul.” His catalog was previously administered in the U.S. by his own company, and in most other territories by Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Since 80% of Stevie Nicks’ publishing catalog was acquired by Primary Wave last week for a reported $100 million, the Dylan catalog probably drew a number well above that. The price was not disclosed, but is estimated at more than $300 million.

Majority of Spaniards will not get coronavirus vaccine without knowing the effects, poll finds: Spaniards are very interested in the upcoming coronavirus vaccines. Eight in 10 people have recently sought information about their development, according to a survey that was published on Friday by the state-funded CIS research institute.
A third, meanwhile, are willing to get the vaccine as soon as possible, but the majority – 55% – want to wait to see what effects it has before they opt to be immunized. Of these, 59.6% would get vaccinated immediately if their doctor recommended them to do so based on their medical history or due to the risk of infecting a relative.
At the other end of the scale, 16.7% of those surveyed responded saying that they would not get vaccinated “under any circumstance,” not even if their doctor recommended it. For the Second Time Ever, an Asteroid Sample Returns to Earth: Japan has retrieved a capsule of asteroid dust from Australia’s remote outback after a six-year mission that may help uncover more about the origins of the planets and water, the Asian nation’s space agency said on Sunday.
“The probe landed on the asteroid twice, and the second time it created an artificial crater and collected some debris,” agency president Hiroshi Yamakawa told a news conference.
The spacecraft, launched in 2014 from Japan’s Tanegashima space centre, journeyed for four years to the asteroid Ryugu, where it gathered a sample and headed home in November 2019. Andalusia will extend the current measures against the coronavirus until the weekend after the bridge: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 04/12/2020 18:15h
The expert committee is scheduled to meet on December 10 to agree on the day-to-day conditions in the coming weeks.
The Board plans to extend the measures that are currently in force in Andalusia against the coronavirus – closure of establishments, curfew and perimeter closure of municipalities – until the weekend after the bridge, as confirmed by the Ministry of Health and Families to ABC.
Thus, the Governing Council, which will be held on December 9, Wednesday, will approve the extension of the measures, which will remain in force until the weekend of December 12 and 13. On Thursday the 10th the President of the Board will announce the new measures that will be in force during Christmas.
In this way, the measures that the Andalusian Government decides for the community and that will be communicated on December 10, once the bridge is over, will be applied after the indicated date.
It should be remembered that, right now, throughout Andalusia the same measures are imposed to stop the advance of the coronavirus pandemic. Non-essential commercial establishments and hospitality establishments must be closed at six in the afternoon; the curfew is imposed from ten at night until seven in the morning: and it is forbidden to enter and leave both the community and each municipality without just cause.
The meeting of the committee of experts on Thursday the 10th is scheduled to take place in the afternoon and that the chief executive will appear before the media at the end of the day to report on the decisions taken. The last committee meetings have been taking place on Sunday mornings.
The president of the Board, Juanma Moreno, has referred this Friday to the next meeting of the expert committee, trusting that if the “positive” evolution of recent days on the incidence of the pandemic in the community continues, the opening hours of hospitality and commerce businesses, especially before the next Christmas holidays may be modified.
He has indicated that the will of the Board is “to extend these hours as much as possible, but it has to be done with great serenity, with great balance and with a lot of head and, of course, taking into account the proposals made by the committee of experts.”
“Seeing the evolution of the data, which has been very positive since the last decisions adopted by the Andalusian Government, I tend to be positive, but I do not want to throw the bells flying”, as indicated by the president, who stressed that the decisions they have to be very thoughtful, prudent and balanced. A scam alert has been issued about a message for screening which is a hoax: The regional government has reported to national police that an SMS message, saying its from the health authority, is not from them and should be regarded as a hoax.
The message invites people to go for a screening and reads similar to the following,
“We are informing you that you have been selected to perform a collective screening test for COVID-19, you must be present with your DNI on December…” the message goes on to state a particular place and time, this message is a hoax, and the health authorities have made a statement to that effect.
In any instance, if any person is concerned whether or not a message received is genuine, then they must contact by phone their nearest health care centre.
Furthermore, people who receive these messages should be aware, the police claim that forwarding the message to others could be damaging and illegal.
When in any doubt, you are to contact your health centre or ask a health professional before doing anything or responding in any way. Source: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/12/04/hoax-sms-causes-confusion/

UPDATED 04Dec20- What we know about plans to open Spain’s ski resorts: Even as its northern neighbour France banned its ski resorts from opening and threatened border checks to stop people from crossing the border to ski, Spain has not completely ruled out opening its ski resorts. In fact, Spain’s Tourism Minister has insisted Spain is determined to open its ski resorts this season.
However restrictions on travel that have been announced over the Christmas period means it could be difficult for those who don’t live near a resort to get to the slopes, if they want to abide by the rules. The differences between the Pfizer, Moderna and Oxford coronavirus vaccines- what we know so far: Price and storage temperatures are among the various factors that set each of the three most promising candidates apart. Full article: https://english.elpais.com/science_tech/2020-12-01/the-differences-between-the-pfizer-moderna-and-oxford-coronavirus-vaccines-what-we-know-so-far.html

Moderna vaccine confers at least 3 months immunity: Writing in the New England Journal of Medicine, they said that the antibodies, which stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus from invading human cells, “declined slightly over time, as expected, but they remained elevated in all participants 3 months after the booster vaccination.”
Even though the number of antibodies fade over time, that’s not necessarily a cause for concern.
NIAID director Anthony Fauci and other experts have said it’s very likely that the immune system will remember the virus if re-exposed later on, and then produce new antibodies.
Encouragingly, the study showed that the vaccine activated a certain type of immune cell that should help out in the so-called memory response, but only longer term study will confirm if this will really be the case. Spanish government passes 1st hurdle to legalize euthanasia: After early elections twice last year thwarted the Socialist party’s attempts to change the law, parliament voted Tuesday by 201 votes to 140 in favor of accepting its euthanasia bill for consideration.
The step puts the bill on a path to possible approval. It now goes to a parliamentary health committee for discussion and then heads to the Senate before returning to the lower house for a final vote.
That would make Spain just the fourth European Union country, after Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, to allow euthanasia, which is when a doctor kills patients at their request. As well as those countries, assisted suicide, where patients administer the lethal drug themselves under medical supervision, is also permitted in Switzerland and some U.S. states. Cannabis Is Officially a Medicine, Following Historic UN Vote: The vote to remove cannabis from Schedule IV of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs was narrowly won by 27 to 25 votes, with the US and UK voting for the change and Russia heading a bloc of countries – including China, Pakistan and Nigeria – which were against the move.
The UN decision will add to a growing drive in many countries to increase access to cannabis-based medicines, and could also spark more scientific research into the drug’s long-known medical properties.
Currently, more than 50 countries worldwide have adopted medicinal cannabis programmes. Canada, Uruguay and 15 US states have legalised recreational use, with Mexico and Luxembourg close to becoming the third and fourth countries to do so. Nerja rolls out its rat control campaign: A specialised company is carrying out extensive disinfection and eradication of rats. The treatments will continue throughout December in Nerja, Maro and urbanisations. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/12/03/nerja-rolls-out-its-rat-control-campaign/

European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) Results: Smoking and drinking among 15–16-year-old school students are showing signs of decline, but there are concerns over potentially risky cannabis use and the challenges posed by new addictive behaviours. These are among the findings released today in a new report from the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD). The study, published in collaboration with the EU drugs agency (EMCDDA), is based on a 2019 survey in 35 European countries, including 25 EU Member States. You will not be able to enter or leave any community between Dec. 23rd and Jan. 6th, except to visit relatives or close friends: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 02/12/2020 20:52h
The Government and the autonomous communities have agreed this Wednesday, within the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS), to limit entry and exit in the autonomous communities and cities between December 23, 2020 and January 6, 2021, except in the Balearic and Canary Islands . In the rest of the territory, you can only travel to another community in the cases provided for by the state of alarm, such as going to the doctor, for work reasons or visiting a family member or close friend.
“The slogan this Christmas is to stay at home and carry out only those movements that are essential” , stressed the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, who indicated that “it will be the autonomous communities themselves that authorize the days on which these visits to relatives and friends ».
During Illa’s telematic meeting with the Health Councilors of the Autonomous Communities, it was also agreed that on the 24th, 25th, 31st and 1st the family reunions are restricted to a maximum of 10 people, except in the case of people who live at the same address and that a maximum of two cohabitation groups are not exceeded.
The minister explained that this “minimum agreement” has been reached with “a broad consensus” , however, he stressed that Madrid has not approved the perimeter closure of the communities. “It is the only community that has opposed mobility restrictions,” said Illa, who recalled that the agreement reached in the Interterritorial Council “is mandatory” and is not taken “for pleasure or to hinder anyone’s life.” .
As established in the ‘Adoption of Public Health Measures for Covid-19 for the celebration of the Christmas holidays’, it has been agreed to set the curfew at 1.30 am on December 24 and 25, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, although only to return home and “never” to go to other social encounters.
Specifically, the document states that in the Christmas period, the autonomous communities and autonomous cities will make effective the limitation of entry and exit in these territories, except for those displacements, adequately justified that occur for any of the reasons provided for in said article, as well as for trips to territories that are the usual place of residence of relatives or close friends of the displaced person, complying at all times with the limits to the permanence of groups of people that are applicable. Britain OKs Pfizer vaccine and will begin shots within days: Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency recommended the vaccine after clinical trials involving tens of thousands of volunteers showed it was 95% effective and turned up no serious side effects. The vaccine is still considered experimental while final testing is done.
Because of the limited initial supply, the first shots will be reserved for those most in danger, namely nursing home patients, the elderly and health care workers. Full article: https://apnews.com/article/uk-authorizes-vaccine-emergency-use-ea0170c978eb281a905866e5bd78bbdf

Donation: 25’00€

Recommendations & Requests

Firewood supplier in Torrox: With a cold weekend forecast and dwindling firewood, is there anywhere in Torrox that sells good quality olive wood (not root). We usually pick up wood as we need it from Velez Malaga, but with the restrictions cannot get there and cannot find a local supplier where we can collect a couple of barrowloads (local yards seem to only want to sell root which doesn’t burn on our fire). I’m presuming that collecting leña is not a ‘justified reason’ to leave our municipality. Thanks!

Andalusia continues to decline in infection rates in a day with 80 deaths: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated:01/12/2020 14:03h
Andalusia keeps low the curve of infections to add this Tuesday only 790 new cases of coronavirus across the region. The negative point is the ongoing high mortality in the aftermath of the second wave. In 24 hours the community has added to 80 deaths per Covid-19.
The decrease of the infection helps to lower the incidence rate of 14 days to 293,5 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants. Malaga (199), Sevilla (238) and Cordoba (250) mark the lowest rates. Jaén passes today to be the province with the highest rate of incidence in past 14 days ( 392) beating Granada that reduced it to 390 cases and that this Tuesday has only added 60 cases.
It is very illustrative that the province of Granada, subject to greater restrictions because of its high incidence in the last three weeks is now one of the best results in the past 7 days. With 116 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants it is below the level of extreme risk (125) as already reached in Cordoba (102), Malaga (81) and Seville (68).
However concerned about the tendency in the province of Cadiz, which, with 148 cases mark the highest rate of incidence to seven days, and that sum this Tuesday 188 cases, the largest log after the 190 new cases of Seville in the last 24 hours. Nor is it a positive evolution of the rate at 7 days of Huelva (139 cases), although the province is the least positive records today, with 39 infections.
In terms of hospitalizations, this Tuesday registered an increase of 25 patients. The total number stood at 2.099 patients from the that 419, three less than the Monday, are critical cared for in Intensive Care Units. Alhambra “reopens” for the second time this 2020″: The Alhambra, historically the most visited monument in Spain and one of its tourist icons, has reopened this Tuesday for the second time in 2020 after the improvement in rate of coronavirus infections in Granada have allowed relax the severe restrictions imposed.
An exceptional ringing of the bell of the well-known Torre de la Vela has announced the “good news” to the city early this morning, as happened on June 17, when the Nasrid enclosure again allowed visits after three months of closure prolonging due to the first confinement of the pandemic.
Although with a capacity limited to 65 percent, about 4,200 tickets per day available and maintaining its winter daytime hours between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the Alhambra faces this ‘new return’ in a special way because it can only be visited at the moment by residents and residents of Granada capital when the perimeter closure in all the municipalities of Andalusia.
