Solidarity Concert in the Church of El Salvador Nerja: “More than 140 families in a situation of request for help due to serious economic difficulties due to business closures due to CORONAVIRUS”
Reading this news deeply moved us and made us take out and clean our tools – art and culture – stored since March, and get ‘down to work’.
The orchestral project “Málaga Camerata” arises from the concern of young musicians to create a space where they can enhance their aspects as ensemble instrumentalists, within an orderly and professional work environment.
Since its foundation, it has been made up of a stable staff of about 20 members. The number is due precisely to the fact that there is a special interest in reproducing classicism and pre-romantic music, with the greatest possible similarity in terms of training.
We know that we cannot help everyone; But we can get 20 of these families to celebrate Christmas this year as well. It is a challenge and it is possible, with your help 20 families can!

Golden Leaves Funeral Plans:
Pre-planning your funeral is a thoughtful and responsible way to show you care about your family.
Funerals are no easy task. There are numerous considerations to factor in, including logistics, food and drink, casket purchase and burial grounds. A loved one’s death brings immense emotional strain to any family, and the question of financing and arrangements only exacerbates the stress.
Handling all of these challenges is difficult enough in one’s normal circumstances, but having to go through it while abroad is an enormous burden.
Golden Leaves Funeral Plans aims to support grieving families during these tumultuous times. Since our inception in 1984, we have partnered with a widespread network of funeral directors across the UK and Europe.
Purchasing a funeral plan with Golden Leaves enables you to plan, design and pay for your funeral services in advance.
As one of the leading providers of expat prepaid funeral plans in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands, we make sure to adequately support your family in the time of greatest need.

For Sale: A rare, vintage Landola Electro-Acoustic Guitar handmade in Finland, with an Arbiter guitar stand and American “Superior” gig bag. The guitar was bought new and is in excellent condition, the label in the sound-hole says, “Landola Handmade in Finland: Model No DJ23; serial number 3-536180.
The frets and fingerboard are in very good condition, with a nice comfortable action. The headstock is good and the original enclosed tuners all work as they should. It has an internal pickup under the saddle connected via a strap-pin lead socket, but I should add that I wasn’t in a band. The guitar wasn’t transported about and stayed in my house, so there are no nasty scratches or dings. And some of Landola’s models were sold without a scratchboard aka pickguard, as in this case.
It comes with an unused Zoom 505 Guitar multi-effects processor, complete with instructions and in its original box, a rarely used Fender Bullet practice amplifier in good condition, except for a bit of rust on the chrome corners and carrying strap handle and connection leads.
If possible I’d like to sell it as a complete package in the region of €390, but I’m open to a reasonable offer.
George Munday, Frigiliana Campo.

The curve of infections due to coronavirus in Andalusia falls for the fifth consecutive day: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es}
Updated: 08/12/2020 20:03
The contagion curve of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Andalusia continues to decline, according to the latest data published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health and Families. For the fifth consecutive day, the number of new positive cases falls in the autonomous community and represents a third of the one reached last Sunday.
Specifically, in the last 24 hours, 434 new infections have been detected measured as positive PDIA (Active Infection Diagnostic Tests), which include all cases of Covid-19 with active infection confirmed by PCR technique or rapid antigen tests. It is the lowest daily figure since August. Last Sunday, 1,286 new cases were diagnosed.
According to the last part of the Ministry of Health, have been registered 33 new deaths in the last day (11 in Cádiz, the highest provincial figure), and 3,815 people affected by the pandemic have been discharged.
Regarding hospitalizations: There have been 30 new admissions and there are 26 more patients in the Intensive Care Units of Andalusian health centers due to Covid-19. These data correspond to 7:00 am on Tuesday , December 8.
The cumulative incidence in the community stands at 204.26 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last fourteen days, which places it among the Spanish regions with the lowest index .
Accumulated data: The data accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic offers the following radiography of the autonomous community: 240,049 infected people diagnosed by PCR or antigen test; 21,849 of these people have required hospitalization; 1,990 have had to be treated in ICU; 4,424 have died; and to date, 152,401 patients have been discharged from the region.
The evolution of the curves of infections, hospitalizations and ICU admissions during the holiday weekend that ends today will be one of the relevant indicators that will be on the table at the meeting Thursday, December 10, at the Palace of San Telmo of the committee of experts that advises the Junta de Andalucía on the evolution of the pandemic.
After this new technical session, it is expected that the Executive chaired by Juanma Moreno will reveal the restrictive measures of mobility for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve based on the level of risk that the statistics show.
Hospitalizations by province: Cádiz has been the Andalusian province with the most cases positive diagnosed in the last 24 hours (148), followed by Jaén (66) and Córdoba (49). In the rest, the number of new positives falls below 40: Seville (39), Huelva (39), Malaga (35), Almería (34) and Granada (24).
The Ministry of Health and Families reports that, currently, 1,546 patients confirmed with Covid-19 remain admitted to Andalusian hospitals, of which 340 are in the ICU.
By provinces: in Almería (111 hospitalizations, of which 37 in ICU), Cádiz (250 hospitalizations, of which 45 in ICU), Córdoba (138 hospitalizations, of which 31 in ICU), Granada (326 hospitalizations, of which than 84 in ICU), Huelva (103 hospitalizations, of which 17 in ICU), Jaén (176 hospitalizations, of which 32 in ICU), Malaga (231 hospitalizations, of which 33 in ICU) and Seville (211 hospitalizations, of which 61 in ICU). Ten minute “rapid” Covid tests will be distributed to 22,000 pharmacies across Spain, after the Puente de Constitución ends on Tuesday December 8th: The test is simple and only requires a finger prick and drop of blood to work. Results of the test can be shown in just 10 minutes. The estimated cost of each test will be €25. So you thought the EU Covid Recovery Funds Package for Spain was a done deal? Not so fast, there are strings attached:
Stirring memories of the Greek bailout, the European Commission wants Spain to address its unresolved structural problems on three fronts – pensions, jobs and market unity – and it is demanding to see a credible and coherent plan setting out Madrid’s reform agenda as part of the deal to release a recently approved package of European stimulus aid.
Instead of seeking to impose reforms, it is asking countries to approve structural changes in exchange for a flood of money included in Next Generation EU, a European recovery fund aimed at addressing the fallout of the coronavirus crisis that will allocate €750 billion in total, half of it in grants. Spain has secured €140 billion of that amount, making it one of the biggest beneficiaries, if it can satisfy the EU’s conditions. IKEA Will No Longer Print Its Legendary Catalog: It’s a sad day for folks who look forward to holding a well-designed product guide for Swedish furniture in their meat hands. On Monday, IKEA announced that it will cease publication of its beloved catalog after 70 years of annual editions.
In a statement, IKEA Managing Director Konrad Grüss said that the decision was “emotional but rational” as customer interest in the print catalog has declined and shoppers seek out digital alternatives for inspiration. Grüss said that the just-released 2021 catalog will be the final edition of what has been the furniture giant’s primary marketing tool for a generation. PHOTO:Ikea Museum. Full article:
