New in El Morche: Food and Art
Yesterday evening on the beautiful sea front of El Morche, BioBeach Club Restaurant/Cafe and Art Gallery opened its doors. Hundreds of invited guests were treated to bio tapas made by the proud new owners Erik and Gaby Avalos(from Chiki Beach Restaurant).
Local artist Coby Bloemsma is the first artist exhibiting her work for 4 weeks in the spacious gallery inside to the restaurant. Her exhibition is called “Body Language”. Coby paints in oils and acrylics, figures and portraits, realistically and in the abstract. She also is exhibiting objects. The exhibition ends on 19th of February.
Every month a new artist will be featured.
BioBeach Club is closed on Tuesdays.

Reply to bank problems, when an account is stopped: This has been a problem for lots of people who have Spanish bank accounts but are not resident, due to money laundering regulations.
The banks have been requesting identification documents from all non Spanish residents who have Spanish bank accounts. Some banks notify their customers but I know a lot of people haven’t been notified and only discover the problem when their bills go unpaid or their electric or water supply cut off.
I would check with you Spanish bank to see if they need any updated documents from you. You should be able to phone your bank and then email them your identification documents and any other details they need. Contact your branch, not the head office.
When they have these documents they will lift the block on your account.
You must check that any debits or standing orders you have on this account have not been stopped as well. Because when the bank block an account all transactions in and out are stopped.

Gibraltar trip: Can anybody shed any light on whether the Soltour trip to Gibraltar Including a dolphin watching boat tour is worth doing. All looks good on their website but we cannot find any reviews anywhere. Also seen them on Facebook but again no reviews. Thirsty, hungry wild boars invaded the Balcón de Europa in Nerja, as the drought in Southern Spain keeps forcing animals into town centres to raid the bins and fountains. Bank problems: I have a similar problem of no response, from my Bank, Santander(formerly Banco Popular) in Caleta de Velez. They don’t answer the phone or reply to my emails.
I too am not in Spain at the moment & have a problem which is urgently needing attention – my German pension, which I have been receiving in this bank, this branch, for the last 7 years suddenly stopped coming in November & I was informed by the German pension authorities in Berlin that it was returned to Germany in November & December, with the explanation that I was “unknown”!
I have been with this bank & branch for 15 years & am suddenly “unknown”.
Do we have to turn up in person in order to fix such problems?

26th Rockin’Race Jamboree: This Rockabilly event will be held at the Prince of Asturias Auditorium in Torremolinos from February 6 to 9 and promises to be a major musical event with more than 30 bands DJs and classic cars. Headlining acts are Robert Gordon (Rockabilly legend) & Darrel Higham (from UK band Kat Men) and The Doug Kershaw Band.
It’s a real rockabilly event that attracts audiences from all over Europe and the town of Torremolinos is the place to be seen if you like Beehive hairstyles, drapes, 50s fashion and American music.
There is a great five day offer at €80 per person to include a free cd although you can buy entry for single days but at €40 per person and be warned, Sunday tickets are already exhausted.
A number of the events take place in different parts of the town and there will be a limited number of market stalls offering a selection of goods in keeping with the event.

-Today Windows 7 officially became obsolete amid waves of forum reports from users that it has mysteriously developed minor but annoying problems. Common problems reported are: the necessity to click on an item multiple times before the click worked, browsers crashing when first opened in a newly started computer, display fonts changing on websites and email, more streaming TV buffering and longer wait time for newly opened website pages to load. Just a coincidence, or Microsoft nudging Win 7 users to upgrade?
-Microsoft is patching a major Windows 10 flaw discovered by the NSA that could expose users to surveillance or serious data breaches, according to the Washington Post. For a change, the NSA disclosed the vulnerability rather than exploiting it. In the past, the NSA might have kept the security hole to itself, using it to spy on adversaries. The best examples of that are WannaCry and EternalBlue, Windows 10 vulnerabilities discovered and exploited by the NSA for years.
A software patch was released earlier to critical Windows 10 clients including the US military and managers of key internet infrastructure. Microsoft has since released updates for all customers, urging them to install them “as quickly as practical.”

Nerja’s Calahonda beach and Carabineros walkway to get major facelift: Malaga’s provincial government, Diputación, announced last week that it has approved a budget of 281,368 euros to make improvements to Nerja’s Calahonda beach. The project will connect the beach with the Carabineros walkway near the town’s famous Balcón de Europa. Steps will be built to allow access from the walkway down onto the beach, with wooden handrails, benches, lighting and a garden area according to the Diputacíon. Motril joins the “Marrow for Lucas” search: Motril joins a solidarity campaign to help Lucas, a three-year-old boy from Almeria, suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who needs a bone donation from a compatible donor. On January 31, Motril residents will be able to go to the La Matraquilla civic center to donate blood and marrow between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The town joins a campaign initiated by the parents of the child on social networks. Through the “Médula para Lucas” Facebook page, his parents are trying to find bone marrow donors. Bank Advice Needed: Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. I have internet banking with Unicaja bank. Recently they have requested a security check, before I can access my account details. These are quite simple requests except for a coordinate details from a coordinate card. I was never given a coordinate card when opening the account four years ago. I am currently in the UK and am trying to contact the bank to no avail. The Tel. No. I have just rings out and I was given an email address to contact someone but I have not received a reply.

Warning: Fuengirola Attacked By An Invasion Of Jelly Fish As Thousands Litter The Beach. Thousands of jelly fish are littered across the beach in Fuengirola this evening. Some people are already being treated for stings and the ambulance services are treating people who have stood on the jelly fish by accident. Please remember that even dead jelly fish can still sting even if they are washed up on the beach.
Pets can also be affected leaving especially inquisitive dogs.
Please be alert and aware, until the jelly fish are removed.

TikTok App Hacked: The famous video-sharing app contains dangerous vulnerabilities that can allow remote attackers to hijack any user account just by knowing the mobile number of targeted victims. Then hackers can:
-delete any videos from victims’ TikTok profile.
-upload unauthorized videos to victims’ TikTok profile, (which can include illegal images, and then they can blackmail you with threats of sending your family/employeer a screenshot of your TikTok app displaying the illegal images).
-make private “hidden” videos public.
-reveal personal information saved on the account, such as private addresses and emails.

Missing: HARRY STAGG, 23 years old has gone missing in Spain.
A family appeal has started after Harry Stagg, from East Cowes on the Isle of Wight has gone missing after travelling though France and into Spain with a friend, Kim Muca. Whilst travelling Harry had been separated from his friend, and they both found great difficulty getting in contact with each other has they had no use of a mobile phone.
On 29th November 2019 Harry made a call from the Police National in HUESCA, he contacted home however there was no answer, but managed to get back in touch with his friend Kim and the pair arranged to meet each other, but unfortunately due to finances on both sides they didn’t manage to reunite. The phone call on the 29th November was the last contact Harry had with any family or friends.
Harry was due to head to his Grandad’s in ALORA for Christmas and New Year but has never arrived. Harry’s mother contacted the police on the Isle of Wight, and has been speaking to the British Embassy, although she has been told that a missing persons report needed to be made in Spain with the Guardia Civil.

Beach walkers in Spain fight back to record number of complaints about dog poo: On the news that a Council in Spain were considering banning dogs from beaches due to the rising level of poop that appeared alongside the shores, beach walkers have defiantly fought back.
Sources had indicated that the alarming amount of dog poo left on the sandy shores in Costa del Sol’s Malaga, had prompted Council officials to act, where a possible prohibition of canines on beaches would be imminently enforced.
However, a group of dog owners made a bold and deserving statement this morning (January 8) whilst walking with their beloved pooches on Fuengirola beach. Rising in the early hours, the kind-hearted souls picked every ounce of poop in sight and collected it all in a plastic bag.

Greek Casita- Torrox Costa: Their New Year’s Eve party was a great success, with live music provided throughout the night by a capable duo of guitarist/singer and cajon player.
This was no buffet (although there was a self-serve fruit and cheese table), all 4 courses were served individually. All tables had pita bread, cuke slices and tasty tzatziki dip, plus water and wine bottles. The first course at 8PM was a huge Greek style antipasto full of sliced meats, cheeses, Greek olives and stuffed grape leaves, with an Ouzo shot on the side. We had some time for digesting and dancing before the second course, a cheese filled potato dish pastry reminiscent of a soft Knish, one of my favorite NYC foods. For the 12:30AM main course I opted for the very tasty grilled herb-feta stuffed octopus; it arrived with a delicious sweet/lemony greens veg on the side.
This was certainly the most food I have been served in a restaurant meal, and I am sure I have left out some items, so much food! I was not drinking, but the wine and water bottles on the tables were replaced promptly when empty. The courses were spaced out so there was plenty of time to socialize and digest. A nice relaxed, enjoyable evening indeed, and unlike any other event I have attended in the area! We even took a break at midnight (between the 2nd and 3rd courses) to walk to the beach as some patrons launched Chinese lanterns toward Morocco. NEW YEAR SYSTEM UPGRADES: DigameXtra has extended the daily submissions deadline to 6pm to accommodate businesses that have “tarde” hours.
