David’s query – they had to contact Torre Police – i.e. stand in a long queue and remember to go early.  One point though my friends were driving a Spanish car owned by them not a foreign vehicle.

We have just bought one from Leroy Merlin and had the local estate agent fit it.
It is called Toldos and various widths and lengths are available.

We would like to recommend the services of Tony Roam ,who at a very reasonable price, has succeeded in moving all our worldly possessions from London to Torrox. He collected them, stored them for a month and then delivered them all in one piece to our now permanent residence in Torrox Pueblo.

I would like to give a bouquet and round of applause to Tony Roam. I have now had two deliveries with Tony from the UK and could not be happier! He makes a run from Wales to the Axarquia monthly, on about the same date at the end of the month. You can send your packages to his address in Wales and he then brings everything himself here to Spain. He has made my life so much easier! I am now able to order from companies that do not ship to Spain, or charge an arm and a leg to do so. My goods always show up in tip-top shapeand for an excellent price. Can not suggest highly enough.

Thursday 19^th May – Coach Excursion to Gibraltar. Why not join Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar and visit Gibraltar, a chance to take a cable car to the top of the Rock, see the unique Barbary Apes.  Visit the upper Rock Nature Reserve, where you will find the Historic tunnels dating from 1779-1783 and St. Michael´s Cave.  Both of these have guided tours.  In the town can be seen the Gibraltar Museum, Government House and in the Southern area are key historical sites. All information may be obtained from the tourist office, or an excellent alternative way of seeing the sights is by hiring a taxi, whose drivers are very knowledgeable and will explain the interesting, historical life of the Rock.  It is also an opportunity to purchase duty free Items and typical English items of food, etc. from the Morrisons super market. Ticket price 12 Euros available at the Centre.  Proceeds for fund raising.  Departure times Puente don Manuel (Hotel Romero) 6.45am, Algarrobo (Lidl) 7.15am, Caleta (Vets) 7.20am and Torre Del Mar (Bus Station) 7.30am. You will visit the Castillo del Moral, where Boabdil was imprisoned and today is the Archaeological Museum.  You will also see the beautiful church of San Mateo, the 17^th century convent of San Augustin and the Baroque Palace situated in the important Jewish quarter.  There will be free time to purchase lunch.  Ticket price 25 Euros available at the Centre, which includes coach, insurance, guided tour, but entrance to the monuments and lunch is not included.   All proceeds for fund raising. Departure time Feria Ground 8.00am, Bull Ring 8.05am.  Departure from Lucena 17.00 approx.

What’s on- Battle Back (Help for Heroes) fund Raising Event

Bangers and Mash Friday 6^th May starting from 3:00pm onwards

Battle Back is a registered charity, associated with Help For Heroes. Last Year Penny Bentley-Ennis (assisted by Veronica Molyneux ) organised, fund raising to bring out six (wounded in action) soldiers to play Golf.

More funds than were needed were raised and this year Penny and Veronica (assisted by Juan Blanco) and others are raising funds to bring out 12 more.

The starting event is a Bangers and Mash Square Bash, a highly successful event, where you get a delicious helping of Bangers and Mash with all the trimmings, a fashion show for the ladies and entertainment from Dave Parker the renowned Sinatra to Buble tribute singer, for the extraordinary price of 10€.

The meal is hosted at Restaurant Casa Matilde in Benajarafe, a short hop down the coast from Torre Del Mar using the N340 or Exit 265 from the A-7 and follow the MA-3203.

A stunning location facing the beach easy and ample `parking, well worth the trip.
