Bruno’s Story  – Pics

Bruno and his sister Leila came to the Tail Refuge as very young pups, found abandoned. When they were about 3 months they got adopted to an English lady who lived in Manilva. All went well until her house burned down.

Luckily the dogs survived. Unfortunately this lady went back to the UK and said she would send for the dogs. We kept on trying to contact her but we had no success.

Sadly this occurs too often.

The dogs have been in the refuge for about 18 months now and are about our biggest dogs but also our most obedient.

Last week we got the fantastic news that Leila was being adopted in Germany. We were delighted as its always harder to re home big dogs. The only downside is that Bruno is going to be devastated without his sister.

We are really trying to find him a home as he should not be in the refuge. He is a big boy and needs exercise. He gets walked nearly every day by our team of volunteers but a loving home is what he needs.

He is about 2 years old, lab cross and castrated.

If you can help please contact us on Facebook TailTorrox or call Gill 633405560 or visit him in the refuge near Axarquia Racing Club Torrox Costa

Burglary Concerns – Help Please

I’m concerned about the burglaries that I hear are happening around Sayalonga Campo area.

Could someone please share more about that?

As a woman living alone it’s quite concerning to hear about these things.

If someone could provide more information that would be greatly appreciated.

In which areas are they happening, how many are they, are they violent, has anyone been harmed etc?

Please share on Digamextra so everyone can get informed.

Thank you,

EM

Wednesday 15th March  Midsummer Magic; An introduction to some of the glorious paintings of the Nordic Impressionists of the late 19th Century Casa Cultura, Calle Granada at 11am

(Tickets only available on the evening from 10.30am)

A Fully illustrated lecture in English by Brian Healey
Sponsored by Currencies Direct

Cloaked for months of the year in snow or mist, it is only in summer that the more benign character of Norway, Denmark and Sweden is revealed, providing the inspiration behind the ravishing paintings of artists such as Kitty Kieland, Anders Zorn, Elif Petersson and Peder Krøyer to name just a few. Often working in small communes, such as at the north Danish coastal village of Skagen these artists adapted the style of impressionism to the limpid light of the Nordic climate, a light which is hauntingly beautiful in the long hours of summer and especially at twilight. Midnight bonfires, moonlit promenades and the midsummer dance are all favourite subjects of these artists who depicted a world of summer stillness and tradition just as it was about to be shattered by the firestorm of World War I.
