Recommendation- Airport Transport

If you need an airport transfer the best firm you could use is Ferramar Taxis.  They charge a flat rate of 55 euro from Torrox Costa  to any point in Malaga, airport, port, RENFE or even in the centre of the city.  They are always on time (usually early) and the drivers speak some English. The lady in the office speaks good English.

The office is on the main road in Torrox Costa on that stretch between Aldi the shop that sells cushions.

Recommendation Needed – Car Insurance

Hi Digamites,

It’s that time of year for me where my car insurance is due for renewal and I am once again doing the rounds to see if I can get a better quote. I am at present with Linea Directa, whom I have been with for a few years and to be fair have been very good. Why change you may ask, well it’s always nice to to know what the other person has on offer. So I would be interested to hear of any recommendation for a car insurance, good or bad, that may be worth a phone call.

What’s on – Art Exhibition

Can I recommend that you visit Andrew John’s inspiring exhibition of his Watercolour paintings at Moclinejo in the Sala de exposiciones.  The Exhibition opened on 26 May (see the video here –  https://youtu.be/PS3bqxstvv8 )  and continues until the 12 July.  The opening times are every day 1030 – 1330 and Sat/Sun 1530 – 1700 in addition.

Apart from the exhibition, Moclinejo is on the Raisin route and one of the delightful villages worthy of a visit in Axarquia.

What’s On – Lux Mundi

Thursday July 20th – Coach Excursion to Gibraltar.  Why not join Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar and visit Gibraltar, a chance to take a Cable Car to the top of the Rock, see the Unique Barbary Apes.  Visit the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, where you will find the Historic Tunnels dating from 1779-1783 and St. Michael´s Cave.  Both of these have guided tours.  In the town can be seen the Gibraltar Museum, Government House and in the Southern area are key historical sites. All information may be obtained from the Tourist Office, or an excellent alternative way of seeing the sights is by hiring a taxi, whose drivers are very knowledgeable and will explain the interesting, historical life of the Rock.  It is also an opportunity to purchase Duty Free Items and typical English items of food, etc. from the Morrisons Super Market. Ticket price 12 Euros available at the Centre.  Proceeds for fund raising.  Departure times Puente don Manuel (Bar Mis Tapitas) 6.45, Algarrobo (Lidl) 7.15, Caleta (Vets)7.20 and Torre Del Mar (Bus Station) 7.30.
