The funeral ceremony for the late Patrick Parker will take place next Tuesday 18th at the Tanatorio, Competa at 12 noon. No black, bright casual clothes please.

Help Please – Attacked by Ants!!
Are there any Digamites out there suffering, as I am, with an invasion of ants in the house? There are large ones and small ones in the kitchen and they are appearing from behind kitchen units, floor tiles and other places. I have tried to track them back but can’t find any nests as they just seem to appear from nowhere. I have dogs and cats so didn’t want to use insecticides, also not a good idea in the kitchen with food, but I have tried all the recommended suggestions from the internet. e.g. anti bacterial spray, lemon juice, pepper, talc, chalk lines etc, some of which kill the ants but more just appear after that.
Any tried and tested suggestions would be most welcome.

What’s On – Phoenix Club Programme
Trip to Gibraltar – Friday 4th August
The Phoenix Club are off on their next shopping trip to Gibraltar on Friday the 4th August
We have pick ups at at the A1 Garden Centre, Torre del Mar bus station and finally at Algarrobo Lidl at 08.30. The bus is parked in Morrisons car park and we leave Gibraltar at 16.30. Due to visa restrictions on entering Gibraltar, please advise if you are a non EU citizen when you book. Also it is important to remember to bring with you your EHIC card, just in case, and passports are essential. On the way to Gibraltar we stop to spend a penny and for coffee.
We would greatly appreciate if payment was made before the journey.
The price? €12pp includes a €1 gratuity for the driver. Children under 12 can join us for 1/2 price. Still the best value on the coast!
Early booking is recommended if you like a particular place, as seat numbers are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Plenty to see in Gibraltar apart from the shopping!
Ole! Flamenco at Venta Luciano, Almunecar – 25th August
The Phoenix Club are off to the famous Venta Luciano on the night of the 25th August to enjoy an evening of great entertainment.
About the Show
Venta Luciano is located in the coastal town of Almuñécar in the province of Granada. Opened in 1956, the restaurant has a long history of presenting authentic flamenco in the Costa Tropical. This tradition continues with the most recent flamenco show in Venta Luciano, “Aires de Sacromonte”. Held Friday nights from May through October in a typical Andalusian setting, ticket options include the show with drink or a barbecue dinner served before the performance.
Included in the price is their famous BBQ, all you can eat and drink, traditional Flamenco, coach fare and drivers gratuity.

The rules for Blogs have changed and it now means that I could face a fine if I publish any negative reviews of any person or company – even though it may be true or half true.
