The Malalmuerzo cave, located in Moclín, in the Spanish province of Granada, was first inhabited around 30,000 years ago. According to the estimates of Pedro Cantalejo, a researcher of cave paintings and the now-retired curator of the Ardales cave in Málaga, generations of Homo sapiens, all probably descendants of one another, occupied the Malalmuerzo cave for 18,000 years, serving as a refuge for numerous generations of sapiens during the Last Glacial Maximum, which devastated Europe 19,000-25,000 years ago.
– During that era, modern-day France, Germany, and Poland were totally covered by ice, devoid of flora or fauna, but inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula lived a very different reality. The south of the region, particularly, was a liveable space. In the area where the Malalmuerzo cave is located, according to Cantalejo, the temperature would have been around seven degrees Celsius below today’s average. Drone show and fireworks: For the inauguration of the Mirador del Carmen in Estepona from 8pm on Friday, 31 March.
The first act of the evening will be a ceremonial ribbon cutting which will take place at the European Union roundabout. A charity bar will be set up and will be managed by the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada-Patrona de Estepona religious brotherhood. ‘Pink cocaine’- The expensive and trendy drug is neither cocaine nor high quality:
– The substance is pink, sometimes smells like strawberries and in Spain goes by different names: tucibi, tusi, pink powder. Most commonly, it is called pink cocaine and considered a luxury drug for affluent people: a single gram costs 80, 90 and even 100 dollars. The same amount of ordinary cocaine costs around 60 dollars, according to a report that the Spanish Observatory on Drugs and Addictions (OEDA in Spanish) published this year.
– Pink cocaine is neither cocaine nor luxury. Between 2019 and 2022, Energy Control – an organization that works to ensure the safe consumption of narcotics – analyzed 150 samples of pink cocaine. III Encuentro 4×4 Torrox Extremo: 1st & 2nd April:
The Mayor of Torrox, Oscar Medina España, highlighted the good fortune of having in Torrox a group of locals who love motor sports and make it one of the municipalities with the greatest drive in this discipline, emphasizing that motor enthusiasts will come from different parts of the region, thus being an opportunity to get to know the municipality.
Registration will be open until the day of the race.
The Sports Councillor, Jose Manuel Fernandez Nieto, explained that it will be from the esplanade of the sports area of La Granja where the route will start at 7pm, which will cross all the corners of the municipality until it reaches Calaceite.
Antonio García, representative of the club, specified that the orienteering test on Saturday consists of a local route. On Sunday at 9am the verifications will take place in the series, improved and protos categories, with the exhibition starting at ten o’clock in the morning.

EU agrees to extend Spain-Portugal gas price cap until end-December: The European Union has agreed to extend a price cap set on natural gas used for power generation in Spain and Portugal until Dec. 31, Spanish Energy Minister Teresa Ribera said on Tuesday. “This tool allows to keep protecting Spanish and Portuguese consumers until the end of the year,” Ribera told reporters in Brussels. The Commission still needs to make the decision official but has issued an explicit support, she said.
Ribera said that as current gas prices are below the cap, the mechanism is not applied. “Were natural gas prices to rise again, we would manage to contain electricity prices at a reasonable level that would not depend on the price of natural gas,” she said. New mortgages in Spain cost six percent more than in 2021:

Chinese Moon Mission Finds a Potential Water Reservoir of 270,000 million tons in Lunar Soil:

– Spain’s Interior Ministry confirmed on Tuesday March 14th that the UK-Spain driving licence deal had been approved and that those with UK licences could be back on the road from Thursday March 16th, while they wait to exchange it. From March 16th 2023 onwards, holders of a valid and current driving licence issued by either Spain or the UK may request to exchange it, depending on their residency, without being subject to any additional requirement such as a practical or theory test. In order to make the process easier, the provincial traffic headquarters has granted a period of six months, during which British citizens can drive in Spain with their original permit while they undergo the process of exchanging it.
***The Process***
– Driving licenses for residents in Spain that have been issued in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland can be exchanged for an equivalent Spanish licence, only when a set of specific requirements has been met. These are:
*The driving license cannot be exchanged if you obtained it in your country of origin while you are already a legal resident in Spain.
*It will also not be exchangeable if you have obtained the permit after signing up as a legal resident in Spain.
*You will still be able to exchange your licence, even if your permit has expired after you entered Spain.
*Driving licences issued by the UK and Northern Ireland authorities will be valid for driving in Spain for a period of six months from March 16th.

*Your permit verification code: Before the day of the appointment, you must access the following web pages to obtain your permit verification code. If your permit has been issued by the UK (DVLA), you can find it here (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence). If it was issued in Northern Ireland (DVA), you can find it here (https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/view-or-share-your-driving-licence-information).
*The results of your ‘psicotécnico’ test, issued by an authorised Driver Recognition Centre.
*Proof of payment of having paid the fee. This costs a total of €28,87.
*A current original photograph, measuring 32 x26 mm. It must be in color and with a plain background. The same rules as your passport photo apply such as not wearing dark glasses or a hat.
– Remember that while your application for the exchange is being processed, your original permit will be taken away and a provisional permit will be issued to you until the new Spanish one is ready. This will be valid for three months.
– How long will it take?
According to the DGT website, it will take approximately a month and a half after your appointment until you are issued your final Spanish licence. You don’t have to worry about making another appointment and going to your nearest office to collect it, it will simply be sent to your home address. World Athletics bans transgender women from competing in female world ranking events:
– World Athletics (track & field sports regulator) has banned transgender women from competing in the female category at international events. The governing body’s president, Lord Coe, said no transgender athlete who had gone through male puberty would be permitted to compete in female world ranking competitions from 31 March. A working group will be set up to conduct further research into the transgender eligibility guidelines.
– Lord Coe added the decision was “guided by the overarching principle which is to protect the female category”. Installing the extension adds the promised functionality – i.e., enhancing search engines with ChatGPT – but it also stealthily activates the ability to capture Facebook-related cookies and exfiltrate it to a remote server in an encrypted manner. Once in possession of the victim’s cookies, the threat actor moves to seize control of the Facebook account, change the password, alter the profile name and picture, and even use it to disseminate extremist propaganda.

Medieval Market returns Maracena to the Middle Ages, opens on Friday of Sorrows: {Translation}

Almost half of businesses in Spain have hiked prices in 2023, survey reveals: Nearly half of companies in Spain, 44 percent, have increased their prices from January to March 2023, and slightly more than half plan on doing so sometime before the end of the year, according to a new survey carried out by the Bank of Spain. A total of 15,000 companies took part in the survey. According to the banking supervisor, this is down to “an increase in inflationary tensions”.
– The rise in prices has been seen in all sectors, although it has occurred “with more intensity” in services such as information and communication and administrative services. Most companies say their production costs have risen above the prices at which they sell and believe their increases are justifiable. – Uganda’s parliament passed a law on Tuesday making it a crime to identify as LGBTQ, handing authorities broad powers to target gay Ugandans who already face legal discrimination and mob violence.

City of Malaga medal awarded to Axarquía philosopher María Zambrano:
– The Vélez-Málaga born philosopher, poet and thinker María Zambrano (born Vélez-Málaga, 22 April 1904, died Madrid, 6 February 1991) was awarded a posthumous medal of the City of Malaga award and named ‘favourite daughter’ of the city in a ceremony which took place at Malaga city hall on Monday 20 March.
– More than a decade has passed since Malaga city hall and Vélez-Málaga town hall approved an institutional motion in May 2012, signed by all the political parties, to grant this distinction to María Zambrano.
