Spain at risk of missing August vaccination target as rate of immunization drive slows: At the current pace – which has dropped by half – the Spanish government will not reach its goal of fully vaccinating 70% of the population until September. Contaminated Ice Cream Recall In Spain Expands To Carrefour- supermarket chain withdraws 29 varieties of house-brand contaminated ice cream, in addition to the recent Mars brand ice cream products recalled: Supermarket chain Carrefour has published a list of 29 varieties of own brand ice cream on it’s website that it is proceeding to withdraw from its stores due to contamination with the carcinogenic ethylene oxide, as reported by the Spanish consumer’s organisation, Facua. Covid restrictions eased as all Malaga health districts move to alert Level 2: This has been decided by the Junta during its meeting this Wednesday, 18 August, and will take effect from Thursday and apply for a week.

The capacity for celebrations will be 75 per cent indoors, with a maximum of 200 people (six per table), while in outdoor venues there may be up to 400 guests (one hundred per cent capacity) and eight people per table.

Vetiver is a rapid growing and non-invasive sterile clump grass with a height of 1-2 metres and a root system of 3-4 metres in depth. We have been providing Vetiver throughout the EU for almost 10 years now. We are located in Sayalonga where we can plant year round but our best results by far start in February. The reason is that Vetiver is indigenous to India and Vetiver loves the heat of the summer. Use Vetiver cuttings as mulch around all of your fruit trees. Decomposing Vetiver improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away all while helping to maintain soil moisture.
Vetiver is a nutritious and replenishable animal fodder. Horses and pigs love it. We use it in our chicken pens replacing hay because it stops mites.
In the 2 photos below you will see land prepared for Vetiver and the results 2 years later.
We also use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive ornamental hedge.

On April 26, 1965 Bob Dylan arrived in London. He didn’t return to the United States until June 2nd. In late April he was mostly on the West Coast of England. Yet this afternoon comes news of a complaint filed by a 68 year old woman who says Dylan groomed and molested her in New York at the Chelsea Hotel in April and May 1965 when she was 12 years old.

Search is on for missing 15-year-old in Almeria: The search in on for a missing 15-year-old girl in Almeria. The girl disappeared on Friday from Spain’s Almeria and no sign of her has been seen since.
The teenager is said to be 1.65 metres tall, has a pale complexion, is slim and has long blonde hair. She also has blue eyes. The young teenager disappeared on Friday in the town of Huercal de Almeria. The association SOS Desaparecidos have issued an alert for the young teen’s disappearance and they hope that everyone will keep an eye out for the missing girl.
According to reports from the Association it is believed that the girl “voluntarily” disappeared. Her name is Nayansi Quiles Jensen and the authorities are worried and a search operation is currently underway in a bid to locate her. Almeria to host two stages of Spain’s iconic La Vuelta bike race: The 76th edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a España will head to Almeria for two stages. The event began on Saturday with the peloton leaving the Cathedral of Burgos to tackle the current Spanish heatwave in a time trial. The event will cover a staggering 3,300 kilometres, and over 220 of these kilometres will be on Almeria’s roads. This year’s event will have 21 stages.
Two of the stages will feature the stunning province of Almeria and one of those will be the toughest of the entire route. The toughest stage will run through Almeria with over 4,500 metres of elevation gain and cover a total distance of 187.8 km. This Almeria stage will kick off on Sunday, August 22. Another Snopes.com Scandal- David Mikkelson, the now suspended co-founder of the fact-checking website Snopes, has been lying to the site’s tens of millions of readers for at least 7 years!: A BuzzFeed News investigation has found that between 2015 and 2019, Mikkelson wrote and published more than 50 articles containing material plagiarized from news outlets such as the Guardian and the LA Times.
After inquiries from BuzzFeed News, Snopes conducted an internal review and confirmed that under a pseudonym, the Snopes byline, and his own name, Mikkelson wrote and published 54 articles with plagiarized material.
“It’s just a David Mikkelson alt,” Snopes’ former managing editor Brooke Binkowski explained when BuzzFeed News inquired. “He used to write about topics he knew would get him hate mail under that assumed name. Plus it made it appear he had more staff than he had.”
Between 2015 and 2019, Mikkelson regularly plagiarized reporting from other news outlets in an effort, he said, to scoop up traffic.
Mikkelson’s alias flies in the face of the site’s mission. It also highlights his penchant for trolling, something he was known for in the early 1990s, when he posted on Usenet forums under the handle “snopes.” At that time, he was so strongly associated with trolling — even tricking advice columnist Ann Landers into running several prank letters — that the practice was sometimes referred to as “snoping.”
Two other former employees also said that copying and rewriting content was part of Mikkelson’s strategy for driving traffic to Snopes’ site. One, who asked to remain anonymous, told BuzzFeed News that “taking credit for other people’s work” was “part of his model.”
Knowingly misleading readers by using a fake name is considered unethical for many news outlets — especially one that markets itself as a bulwark of truth and transparency. Far worse is plagiarism.
In 2015, Snopes.com owners Barbara and David Mikkelson were detained by police after an unrelated investigation of a Snopes.com editor lead police onto a paper trail of corruption, bribery, and fraud at the very heart of the fact-checking organization.

CANCELLED- Bonnie Tyler’s concert in Salobreña: Bonnie Tyler’s concert that was due to take place last evening, Friday, August 13, in the Los Trances Municipal Sports Centre in Salobreñas, Granada, has been postponed. The organisers have reportedly said they plan to reschedule the concert date in Granada province, but anybody wishing for a refund can get their ticket money returned.
Lorena Pal, the interpreter who is accompanying the Welsh singing star on this tour, went on stage – with the public already starting to enter the venue – to announce that Ms Tyler had been feeling unwell since around 12 midday, with symptoms compatible to Covid-19, and although she had started to feel better as the day progressed, at dinner time she felt worse again and had to call for a doctor.

Police Visit Pirate IPTV Suppliers’ Homes to Serve Cease-and-Desist Notices: Cheap access to Premier League football is one of the primary drivers for pirate IPTV uptake in the UK.
According to an announcement from anti-piracy company the Federation Against Copyright Theft, during the past week police units targeted several suspected suppliers of pirate IPTV services around the UK. FACT investigators were reportedly in attendance when the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, West Yorkshire Police, and Dyfed-Powys Police delivered cease-and-desist notices to people’s homes.
All of the individuals served with a cease-and-desist notice over the past week are reportedly lower-level players in the pirate IPTV world. Cómpeta Art Walk is back on September 17, 18 & 19, 2021 after an 18 month break: This will be the 12th year that this beautiful white mountain village has hosted the Art Walk, with many international artists, sculptors and craftspeople exhibiting in their own homes, galleries or in municipal buildings.
You will get the chance to talk to the exhibitors about their motivation, inspiration and creative processes in their art, and of course to purchase pieces.
All spaces are within a manageable walking distance of each other (some steep roads, this is a mountain village), and can be viewed in one day.
As there will be a 2 hour break from 2.00pm – 4.00pm why not book a table at one of the many wonderful restaurants that are scattered throughout Cómpeta, or indeed make a weekend of it and book your own accommodation.
There will be live music on Saturday night in the main square and possibly other smaller musical events throughout the weekend.

Websites Blocking Access Due To Ad Blockers
-This is becoming a common problem. You try to visit a website, only to be denied access with a message telling you to turn off your ad-blocker and reload the page.
Often you comply and turn off the ad-blocker, only to find you still receive the same message.
-What they actually want you to do, and which does work, is to fully uninstall the ad-blocker. That is outrageous, that a website thinks they are so important that you should be willing to disrupt your entire web experience and expose yourself to all the online threats, just for them. The only reason they have for demanding you uninstall your ad-blocker is so they can scan your computer for even more info that adds value to the data they are otherwise already collecting. I have a pre-written letter saved to my desktop saying exactly this, that I send to the support team of any website that employees these tactics.
-The attitude today of many websites, and big tech in general, is to do whatever they darn well please with absolutely no concern for average people, and wait to see if there are complaints. If there is overwhelming pushback they may make modifications fearing the loss of visitors, but that is rare, usually they just offer lame excuses. They are so desperate to squeeze every possible penny of income out of a website that they ignore the common decency and respect for visitors most webmasters had 10 years ago. So much so, in fact, that there are now several “alternate internet” projects being developed to prevent these abuses of the average internet user. I’ll provide more info on “alt-internet” sources when they become available to the general public.
-My solution is to have two web browsers installed (Actually I have 6, and use them all for different tasks, one for surfing, another for email, another for IPTV, etc. This strategy prevents any one browser from tracking all my activity.). I have one browser with full ad-blocking and anti-tracking and another without any ad-blockers installed, and if it has built-in ad-blockers or tracker-blockers, I turn those off in that browser’s settings. That way, if I am on my “general use” secure browser with ad-blockers, and I encounter one of the ad-block messages, I copy the address, and open it in the unsecured browser.
-Remember to keep your computers cool in this current heat wave. On laptops I suggest putting a wedge under the back side to lift it a bit and provide room for airflow, as well as having a fan blowing directly on it once the temps reach 28C.

Cat Trap Help: Can anyone help – I have been feeding two stray cats thinking I was keeping them alive but not encouraged them to come in the house – the black cat got fat and then thin several times but today she carried a kitten down from the shed roof – is there any association that would catch and sterilise the female cat – I live near Arenas de velez and once spoke to someone at the rubbish area who was trapping the cats there – another kitten has been brought. Did archaeologists find the Trojan Horse?: Archaeologists who claimed they had unearthed remnants of the legendary Trojan Horse in Turkey have now found significant evidence that further supports their claim, according to an article by the Greek Reporter.
Turkish archaeologists excavating the site of the city of Troy on the hills of Hisarlik have discovered a large wooden structure that they believe are the remains of the Trojan Horse. These excavations include dozens of fir planks and beams up to 15 meters (49 feet) long, assembled in a strange form.
The wooden structure was found inside the walls of the ancient city of Troy.
Now, Boston University professors Christine Morris and Chris Wilson believe that “the carbon dating tests and other analyses have all suggested that the wooden pieces and other artifacts date from the 12th or 11th centuries BC.”

Feel Malaga festival will feature more than 70 shows and nearly 1,000 musicians:
From 14 August until November the streets of Malaga will be filled with music as the ‘Feel Malaga’ festival swings into action, featuring no less than 70 shows on 20 stages around the city, and with almost 1,000 musicians.
The festival will kick off on 14 August at the Eduardo Ocón venue, with six copla and flamenco shows.
The Municipal Auditorium will, from 15 August, offer a cast of national artists including but not limited to Diana Navarro, Aurora Guirado, Morta, Danza Invisible, Efecto Mariposa, Señor Mirinda and Manolo Sarriá from Malaga. They are joined by Rosario, Café Quijano, Miguel Ríos and David de María.

Cruise activity increases in Malaga with the arrival of one of the largest sailboats in the world: This increase in movements follows the decision of the Windstar Cruises shipping company to make three stops in the city, and two of them will be with one of the largest sailboats in the world.
